Jurnal Ilmiah Ilmu Ushuluddin (p-ISSN: 1412-5188 / e-ISSN: 2549-3752) is open access and peer-reviewed journal of Islamic Studies published by the Ushuluddin Faculty of UIN Antasari Banjarmasin. The journal is published twice a year (June and December) in both print and online versions and provides a forum for publishing the original research articles and review articles related to issues in the area of Islamic Studies such as Qur’an and Hadits Studies, Religious Studies, Islamic Philosophy, and Islamic Spirituality (Sufism) from scholars of related disciplines.

Abstract

The spread of the Islamic puritan movements, which have beeninfluenced by Wahhabism and Salafism, is not positive for Muslimsocieties. According to Abu al-Fadl, the role of moderate Islam tocounter those movements is very important. The main purpose of themoderate Islam project is to establish a strong civil society based ontolerance and respect for human rights. To do this, the moderate Islamtakes the moral values such as equality, justice, and protection of humanlife as the foundation of Islamic law. Therefore, if one finds acontradiction between the literal meaning of religious texts and the basicmoral values, the latter should be prioritized. Moreover, to interpretreligious texts, one does not only need religious traditional knowledge,but also modern social sciences and humanities.

Abstract

Historically, the process of tadwn was through by the phases of a long and complex historical and colored many controversies. The controversy intensified when considering stream factor in it. Three traditional currents in Islam, Ahl al - Sunnah wa al - Jamaah, Shiites, and Kharijites, proved to have a history of their own tadwn traditions were different from each other. Concurrently with the tadwn process of hadith, the scholars also put its methodological tools. Methodological tools that in turn give effect to other disciplines, including Islamic historiography. This study tried to discover more about the dynamics that occured in the tadwn tradition process and to what extent it impacted to the Islamic historiography. Through the method of historical - comparative historical or combined with Usul al - hadts, this study revealead that the hadith tadwn basically been going on since the period of the Prophet and continued in subsequent periods until finally composed " Six Major Hadith Compilation " among the Ahl al - Sunnah wa al - Jamaah and the " Four Major Hadith Compilation " ( al -Kutub al - Arbaah ) among Shiites. The study also showed that tadwn of hadith clearly had a contribution which was not only limited to providing abundant material for writing the history of Islam in the form of biography (sirah) and military raids or attacks (maghziy), but more importantly also about resource gathering methods, method of source criticism, and methods of preparation work of Islamic history

Abstract

The study of ethics as a philosophical subject has been rare in Islamic tradi-tion compared to other subjects. It is in this context that a study of ethicscontained in Ibn al-Muqaffa’s Kalîlah wa Dimnah is very important. ForIbn al-Muqaffa’, the position of ethics is higher than religion itself. Thus,one should do a good thing, even though religion does not command it. Heargues that to live a life in accordance with moral values will lead a personto happiness and dignity. It is significant that he uses fables to communi-cate his ethical ideas. Through fables, he can persuade people to use not onlyreason, but also emotion and imagination, to understand ethics.

Abstract

Tulisan ini membahas fenomena kehadiran organisasi-organisasi Islam radikaltransnasional di ruang bangsa Indonesia dalam kurun 10 tahun pasca reformasi.Dalam konteks transisi demokrasi, fenomena ini merefleksikan tendensi kepadapembentukan komunalisme agama bercorak teokratik di atas realitas masyarakatyang majemuk, sesuatu yang sangat bertentangan dengan prinsip-prinsip demokrasiyang menjadi spirit awal gerakan reformasi. Secara geneologis, kehadiran Islamtransnasional tidak bisa dilepaskan dari peran DDII yang menjadi wadah persemaianideologi Salafi abad 20 yang tidak hanya menekankan pemurnian keagamaan semata,tapi menjadi ideologi alternatif atas modernisme, sekularisme, dan kapitalisme melaluieksperimentasi negara Islam lintas bangsa. Walaupun kehadiran Islam model iniditengarai akan ber potensi menjadi penyebab perpecahan bangsa, namunpenanganannya bukan seperti pengalaman Orde Baru tetapi melalui pendekatan hukumdan strategi de-radikalisasi yang sistematik.

Abstract

Confucianism is a minority religion in Korea and Indonesia, but the spiritual movement of Confucianism can be accepted by some religions and may also be practiced. This study aimed to uncover how did Koh Byong-ik on Confucianism in South Korea in the future and how was this contemporary contribution to religious harmony in Indonesia critical analysis. Results of this study indicated that a statistically Confucian minority turned out after a deep study, a dominating ideology Korea. Though a minority, they had the spiritual strength to embrace a religion. The Confucian doctrine turned out to support the harmony of religious life and this was the initial capital to strengthen brotherhood among religions.

Abstract

Salah satu periode penting dalam sejarah perkembangan kitab hadis adalah munculnya syarah kitab hadis. Kitab syarah dipandang penting mengingat semakin melemahnya kemampuan umat muslim dalam memahami bahasa Arab dan khususnya makna kandungan hadis. Diantara kitab syarah hadis yang terpenting adalah kitab Fath al-Bary Syarh Shahih al-Bukhari karya Ibn Hajar al-‘Asqalani. Dalam menulis kitab tersebut, Ibn Hajar mengikuti sistematika penulisan yang ada pada kitab Shahih al-Bukhari. Sementara itu, dalam memahami hadis, ia banyak memuat hadis-hadis dari jalur sanad lain, al-Qur’an serta pandangan ulama mengenai istimbat hukumnya. Metode yang ia gunakan dalam kitab syarhnya adalah metode muqaran. Adapun pendekatan yang digunakan adalah pendekatan teologis-normatif dan historis. Sedang teknik interpretasinya adalah teknik interpretasi tekstualis.

Abstract

Hermeneutics is a new method in understanding and meaning of the hadiths. It used by some contemporary moslem scholars. One of them is Fatima Mernissi. She concentrates to misoginic hadiths that discriminate women. In this article, the author tries to see her hermeneutics methodology. The methodology that is offered by Fatima Mernissi in studying hadith is double investigation with psycho-history as her approach. There are two steps in her method, that are historical aspect and methodology aspect. The first step is analyzing situation and condition that happen when hadith released and then, analyzing about the first transmitter, when, why and to whom that hadith is released.

Abstract

This paper departs from the spirit to build the integrative science. Development of integrative science is an importantissue for the Islamic world, not just merely as part of an effort to overcome the problem of the dichotomy of science,which is the root of the problem of dropping people and their stuttering in facing the challenges of modernity, but alsobe an option in solving various problems of contemporary humanity, which can not be solved completely by usingWestern science.The findings of this paper. First, the construction of the Islamic paradigm in the development ofintegrative science rests on spirit of Islamic scientification. Secondly, the paradigm of Islam is considered to have strongprospects in developing the Islamic sciences that relevant to the realities and needs of Muslims.

Abstract

This paper discusses about the political thought in tafsir al qadir written by al-Shawkany.It is written in the paper that in the locus of political life of the state, there is aphenomenon that muslims fell the awkwardness in solving some fundamental problems,such as how to find the right relationship between Islam and politics, how toposition of Islamic law in the context of a modern democratic state, and how Islamiclaw should be understood and practiced. The awkwardness was later implicated in thebirth of various types of political experimentation. Islamic tradition of thought inpolitical philosophy did not develop because of political thought are taught in two differentdisciplines, namely discipline of Jurisprudence and discipline of philosophy. Ironically,in the tradition of Islamic scholarship that dominates is the discipline of jurisprudence,therefore we can not get out of the paradigm of political theology (politicaltheology).

Abstract

Sufis poetry or the poetry of Islamic Mysticism is part of the cultural heritage of Islam. If the mention of the manynames of Sufi poets, the most commonly known and easily referred to is the name of Maulana Jalaluddin Rumi orRumi. This writing wants to frame the religious experience of Rumi, through his poetries that reflects the attitude ofSufis doctrine, in the perspective of Sufi psychologhy. The conclusion was obtained that Rumi was from the type ofprophetic religion, so that his attitude of the religion did not leave Syariat aspects which part of Islamic doctrine,although he put a lot of mystical attitude in his eccentric poems since his meeting with Syams Tabriz.
