Abstract

Stunting is caused by three factors, involving individuals’ food intake, birth weight, and health condition; the quality and quantity of food nutrition, human resources, number and family structure, parenting, health care, and services; and environmental factors that include social infrastructure, educational services and health services.This aimed to find the relationship between mothers’ education level and exclusive breastfeeding toward the toddlers’ stunting in South Sulawesi Province 2015 based on the report of secondary data analysis on Nutrition Status (PSG) 2015.This research used 2015 PSG data with observational design. The samples in this research were toddlers in 3 cities or regency in South Sulawesi Province with the highest stunting event rate, they were Jeneponto (300 toddlers), Pangkep (300 toddlers) and Tana Toraja (298 toddlers). Secondary data were taken from PSG report of 2015. The nutrition status was measured by anthropometry. Mothers’ education level and exclusive breastfeeding data were obtained by asking respondents using PSG 2015 questionnaires. To find out the relationship of two variables, it was conducted yates correlation test using SPSS program. The data were presented in the form of frequency distribution tables and narration.The results showed that the prevalence of stunting was 44%. The proportion of lower educated mothers was 56.5%, while exclusive breastfeeding was quite high at 94.8%. Mothers with less education (27.7%) had stunting children, while 27.3% well-educated mothers have normal children and there was a significant relationship between mother education level and stunting on toddlers (p = 0,001). The stunting was found on toddlers who are not exclusively breastfed (0.9%) and exclusively breastfed (43.1%), and there was a significant relationship between exclusive breastfeeding and stunting incidence in toddlers (p = 0.000).

Abstract

Pengetahuan dan dukungan keluarga merupakan faktor yang mempengaruhi kepatuhan diet bagi penderita diabetes mellitus. Oleh karena itu sangat penting untuk meningkatkan Kepatuhan dalam menaati diet DM untuk menstabilkan kadar glukosa darah pada penderita diabetes mellitus, adanya kepatuhan dapat mengembangkan rutinitas (kebiasaan) yang dapat membantu penderita dalam menjalani diet.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan tingkat pengetahuan dan dukungan keluarga dengan kepatuhan diet pada pasien Diabetes Mellitus di. wilayah Puskesmas Sudiang Raya Kecamatan Biringkanaya Kota MakassarPenelitian ini adalah penelitian observasional dengan menggunakan rancangan cross sectional. Sampel adalah pasien DM rawat jalan di wilayah Puskesmas Sudiang Raya yang berjumlah 48 0rang yang dipilih secara accidental sampling. Pengetahuan dan dukungan keluarga diperoleh dari kuesioner. Kepatuhan diet pasien diperoleh melalui recall 24 jam selama 2 hari tidak berurut. Analisis hubungan antara variabel dilakukan uji chi square. Data disajikan dalam bentuk tabel distribusi frekuensi dan narasi.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengetahuan gizi pasien DM di wilayah Puskesmas Sudiang Raya baik (79.2%), umumnya keluarga mendukung (87.5%), pasien DM tergolong tidak patuh (91.7%). Hasil uji statistik antara variabel menunjukkan bahwa tidak ada hubungan yang bermakna antara pengetahuan gizi dengan kepatuhan diet (p=0.621), dan tidak ada hubungan yang bermakna antara dukungan keluarga dengan kepatuhan diet pasien DM di wilayah Puskesmas Sudiang Raya (p=0.71).Disarankan agar dilakukan penelitian lebih lanjut dengan mempertimbangkan pasien DM yang meminum obat, pasien DM yang suntik insulin, kadar gula darah pasien, riwayat penyakit lain yang didiagnosa langsung oleh dokter serta mengoptimalkan instrument penelitian untuk menghindari data yang bias.

Abstract

Hypertension is a big problem, not only in western countries but also in Indonesia. Every year hypertension or high blood pressure contributes to the deaths of nearly 9.4 million people due to heart disease and stroke and if combined these two diseases are the number one cause in the world.This study aims to analyze the relationship between sodium intake and nutritional status to the level of hypertension in outpatients in RSUD Makassar City. This study used cross sectional study design. The sample is outpatient of RSUD Makassar City. Data of sodium intake and nutritional status were obtained by recall 1x24 hours and anthropometry measurement, while blood pressure data were obtained from patient rekammedic data. The results showed that samples with normal sodium intake tended to have mild hypertension that was 12 people (85,7%) while sample with sodium intake was more likely to have moderate hypertension that is 12 people (75%). Samples of normal nutritional status with mild hypertension tends to be 12 people (80%) while the sample with abnormal nutritional status tend to have moderate hypertension is 11 people (73,3%). The relationship between sodium intake and nutritional status to hypertension level. It is recommended to hospital nutritionists to provide further consultation on low-salt diet as well as improved nutritional status. In addition there is also a further understanding of hypertensive patients about the cause of hypertension to be more vigilant against hypertension disease.

Abstract

Breast milk contains high immune antibodies and killer germs that can reduce the risk of infant mortality but exclusive breastfeeding coverage in Indonesia is only 55,7% and has not reached the government target of 80%. This study aims to determine the relation between delivery process of baby, breast crawl and mother’s knowledge with exclusive breastfeeding  at RSIA Pertiwi Makassar.The research is an analytical research with cross sectional design. Samples of this study are 155 newborn babies at RSIA Pertiwi Makassar. Data collected  by interview using questionnaire then analyzed by Chi Square Test in SPSS program. The results show that there are 54,2% respondents who gave exclusive breastfeeding. There are 59,4% respondents with normal delivery process. There are 20,6% respondents who did breast crawl. Thera are 11,6% respondents with good knowledge. The result of statistical test shows that there are relation between delivery process of baby, breast crawl, and mother’s knowledge with exclusive breastfeeding.

Abstract

RINGKASANRemaja rentan mengalami masalah gizi karena berbagai hal. Salah satu cara untuk mengatasi masalah gizi tersebut adalah dengan menerapkan pola hidup gizi seimbang. Teman sebaya menjadi salah satu mediator yang prospektif untuk mengupayakan perubahan nilai dan perilaku kesehatan pada remaja. Namun sebelum edukator sebaya melakukan edukasi pada temannya, mereka perlu memperbaiki pengetahuannya tentang gizi seimbang. Penelitian ini ingin melihat efektifitas pelatihan educator sebaya terhadap pengetahuan siswa tentang gizi seimbang. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMUN 16 Makassar. Penelitian ini merupakan studi intervensi. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan metode purposive sampling dan jumlah sampel yang terpilih adalah 40 siswa. Analisis data dilakukan dengan SPSS versi 16 menggunakan uji T berpasangan untuk menilai perbedaan pengetahuan responden sebelum dan setelah intervensi.  Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa bahwa setelah pelatihan edukator sebaya, terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan responden tentang gizi seimbang pada kategori baik, yaitu dari 17,5% sebelum pelatihan menjadi 70% setelah pelatihan, meningkat sebesar 52,5%. pengetahuan responden yang pada kategori cukup mengalami penurunan, yaitu dari 45% sebelum pelatihan menjadi 25% setelah pelatihan, menurun sebesar 20%. Pengetahuan responden pada kategori kurang mengalami penurunan juga, yaitu dari 37,5% sebelum pelatihan menjadi 5% setelah pelatihan dilakukan, menurun sebesar 32,5%. Dari penelitian ini disimpulkan, bahwa pelatihan yang dilakukan efektif untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan responden. Edukator gizi yang telah dilatih diharapkan dapat menularkan pengetahuan yang dimilikinya kepada teman-teman sebayanya. Selain itu, program-program promosi kesehatan, terutama gizi seimbang harusnya gencar dilakukan di sekolah, mengingat sekolah merupakan tempat membentuk perilaku sehat yang diharapkan akan terus bertahan hingga remaja memasuki fase dewasa.Key Word: remaja, gizi, pelatihan, sebaya, pola makan

Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a collection of symptoms that arise in someone who has increased blood sugar levels (Glucose) due to lack of insulin hormone. The content in purple and tempe sweet potatoes has high amylose fiber content, and low IG improves insulin sensitivity, decreases glucose uptake rate, and is useful in controlling blood glucose so as to reduce the risk of complications in people with diabetes mellitus type 2 .This study aims to determine the effect of pastry cake flour sweet potato purple and tempe powder to blood sugar levels in patients with diabetes mellitus Type 2 in dr. Tajuddin Chalid Makassar.This study is an analytical study with Pre-Experiments by looking at blood glucose levels in the subjects who suffer from diabetes mellitus type 2 with the number of samples senbanyak 12 respondents. The result of data analysis of the effect of sweet potato pie cake and tempe powder to Diabetes Mellitus Type 2 patients was analyzed using SPSS with Wilcoxon test. The presentation of data is presented in tabular and narrative form.The results show Asymp.Sig (2-tailed) is 0.005. Because Asymp.Sig (2-tailed) is worth 0.005 which means There is effect of cake pastry sweet potato purple powder and tempe powder to blood sugar while in patient of Diabetes Mellitus Type 2 in dr. Tadjuddin Chalid Makassar.It is advisable to control blood sugar regularly at least once a month, physical exercise such as doing regular physical activity at least 3 times a week, and multiply the activities at home. Should counseling about Diabetes Mellitus type 2 Related to the recommended foodstuffs and is not recommended for people with Diabetes Mellitus (DM) type 2.

Abstract

One effort to increase knowledge is to educate health about nutrition especially. Nutrition education is essentially an activity to deliver a health message to a community or group in the hope of influencing the behavior of the target. The habit of snacking is part of the action-shaped behavior that becomes a pattern of the behavior of a person or group that tends to be difficult to change. This study aims to determine the effect of nutritional education on knowledge and habits of jajan at students of SMP Negeri 35 Makassar. The type of research is pre experimental study with one group pre-test and post-test design. The location of the research was conducted at SMP Negeri 35 Makassar. Samples are students of class VIII of 100 students obtained by simple random sampling. The study was conducted on April 8 - April 22, 2017. The results are presented in tabular and narrative form. Based on the results of research conducted at SMP Negeri 35 Makassar shows that the knowledge of students before given less than 58% of good nutrition education and good (42%) using Wilcoxon statistical test obtained value (p=0,000) which means there is influence of education Nutrition to knowledge in students. In the habit of snack before given nutrition education that is as much (63%) and good as much (37%), using Wilcoxon statistic test obtained value (p=0,372) which means there is no effect of nutritional education to snack habits on students. Nutrition education with reverse sheet media shows there is an influence on knowledge but there is no effect on the snack habits. Keywords: Knowledge, Nutrition Education, Pocket Habits

Abstract

Mothers’ nutritional knowledge play an important role in nutritional status of children since mothers have responsibility to provide food for family, particularly for children. Although mothers have good knowledge in nutrition, but if their level of socioeconomic is low, it will affect to nutritional status of children.The aim of this research is to determine effect of mothers’ nutritional knowledge and socioecomic family on nutritional status of children aged 6 to 24 months at Tamalanrea Jaya public health center. The kind of this research is analityc research. Sample consists of 69 children aged 6 to 24 months and their mother are the respondents who are chosen by purposive sampling. The effect of variable is detected by chi-squared test and data is demonstrated by table and narration.Result of this research shows that there are influence of mothers’ nutritional knowledge and parents revenue with nutritional status of children aged 6 to 24 months which are explained by p-value = 0.002 < α = 0.05 and p-value = 0.026 < α = 0.05 respectively. However, level of mothers’ education and mothers’ job did not have influence to nutritional status of children aged 6 to 24 months which are proved by p-value = 0.587 > α = 0.05 and p-value = 0.69 > α = 0.05 respectively.This research is suggestible to mothers to improve their knowledge in nutritional problem by following nutritional counselling or reading nutrition books for increasing insight about nutritional problem

Abstract

Stunting is the condition of people’s nutrition status in the past through relation to the environment and social economic based on Z-score TB/U in <-2 SD. The causes of Stunting are nutrients intake and infection disease. South Sulawesi is in the third position with dangerous category after Papua and Maluku. Prevalance of stunting in south sulawesi about 38,9% ( shortest 15,8% and short 23,1% ) (Balitbangkes, 2013) The objective of the research is knowing the relation between nutrition status of pregrant woman (LILA) and born weight of infant aged 6-36 months with stunting process in Puskesmas Bontoa, Maros. The type of the research is observational design with “cross sectional study” the samples are all infants aged 6-36 months in Puskesmas Bontoa Maros. The sample methods using simple random sampling with Chi Square test. The result of the research describes that there are 95 respondents for category of pregnant women’s nutrition status (LILA),  28,4% for pregnant woman who experienced chronic energy deficiency. There are 14.7% babies born with low weight (BBLR)  and 49.5% infants that suffered stunting for category infant’s nutrition status based on TB/U Stunting. statistics test result shows that there are meaningful relation between pregnant woman’s nutrition status (LILA) with stunting of infant (p= 0.01) and born weight in infants with stunting (p=0.02). The suggestion for officers health need to increase PMT supply to pregnant woman to prevent the increasing number of pregnant woman who suffered chronic energy deficiency in Puskesmas Bontoa Maros

Abstract

The results of the research on tempe biscuit with the substitution of moringa flour as MP-ASI did not reveal the content of protein and calcium which is a nutrient Which is important to know as fast food. This study aims to determine the content of protein and calcium in tempe biscuit formula with kelor leaf flour substitution.This research uses laboratory. Samples analyzed were 2 samples with no substitution of 0% Moringa  flour (control) and samples with Moringa flour substitution 9% (13.5 g) based on consumer acceptance. Aanalysis of proteins by khjedal method and mineral by atomic analysis spektrofothometer (AAS).          The results showed that the content of protein and calcium biscuit of tempe formula with the substitution of maize flour 9% (13.5 g) respectively by 14.9% and 38.3 mg,  Greater than non-substitution of maize leaf powder respectively 12.6% and 21.4 g.          It was concluded that the content of protein and calcium biscuit with the substitution of moringa flour is higher than that without the substitution of moringa flour. Further research on the formulation of complementari of food for breast milk  is required to balance the nutritional value in accordance with the needs of infants 6-24 months. Keywords     : Biscuits, Protein Content, Calcium Conten
