Abstract

This article was a qualitative research type grounded theory. The purpose of this study is to analyze the creative thinking disposition through junior high school students in order to understand students’ disposition on creative thinking deeply. This study belongs to postpositivism paradigm research. According to ontological side, the reality about students’ creative thinking disposition is actually appeared on students but not or have not been understood before, it just predictable. Otherwise, according to epistemologycal side, the prediction about creative thinking disposition is needed to be more understood. That’s way qualitative research is needed to overcome students’ negative creative thinking disposition. Researcher as the instrument analyzes students’ creative thinking disposition wisely with using triangulation of the data. This study was implemented in one of the junior high school with 25 students as the subject. Based on the analysis of the data, the finding is obtained in this study are: (1) the has complete facilities with fresh air and a clean environment, (2) mathematics studying and learning process is very optimal and conducive so that it can give a positive attitude in students’ creative thinking disposition, (3) based on the result of questionnaire data, there are 20 students (80%) have a positive attitude in creative thinking disposition, although there are 5 students (20%) have a negative attitude in creative thinking disposition. We can conclude that most of the students have a positive attitude in creative thinking disposition.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze mathematics learning qulity of primary school student using thematic approach. This research subject were primary school student one grade of SD Negeri 4 Sidorekso, Kudus. This study type was classroom action research that involve 30 of students. The method used descriptive qualitative. The data collected by diagnostic test techniques, observation and interview sheets. The analysis showed improvement of mathematics learning.  It can be seen in the first cycle increase from 63% at the first meeting to 69% at the second meeting. The second cycle from 84% to 87% and the third cycle from 96% to 97%. Moreover, the student achievement increased. In the first cycle, the average score was 76 and 70% for classical. In the second cycle the average was 84 and 82% for classical. In the third cycle the average was 91 and 100% for classical. The positive response from the students and teachers use thematic approach process can be seen from result of interview that thematic approach can improve the interest and motivation of the students.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to determine: (1) Differences of students learning result using Probing-Prompting models and Contextual Teaching and Learning (2) Differences in learning outcomes between students who have low motivation, moderate and high. (3) The interaction between the learning model (Probing-Prompting and Contextual Teaching and Learning) with student's learning motivation. This type of research is a experiment research with factorial design 2x3. The population of this research is all students in ten class of SMK Teladan Batam. Sampling was done by cluster random sampling technique, therefore the research sample is two classes, class X Teknik Kendaraan Ringan as an experimental class I and class X Teknik Konstruksi Kapal Baja as an experimental class II. The instrument of data collection applied was the value of midterm test II, a questionnaire about learning motivation, and the result of learning mathematics lessons test. The prerequisite test included the population normality test using the Lilliefors method and homogeneity test of population variance using the Bartlett method. The hypothesis testing was done using a two-way analysis of variance with a different cell. The result of research showed thaht: (1) The Probing-Prompting models and Contextual Teaching and Learning the same learning outcomes. (2) The result of student learning which has a low learning motivation, medium, and high education outcomes are the same. (3) Thereis no interaction between the learning (Probing Prompting and Contextual Teaching and Learning) with the learning motivation.

Abstract

Guru matematika dituntut tidak hanya dapat menstransfer ilmu pengetahuan saja kepada peserta didik, namun juga dapat membentuk dan mengembangkan karakter siswa dalam proses pembelajaran matematika. Untuk dapat menumbuhkan dan mengembangkan karakter siswa dibutuhkan suatu model pembelajaran yang dapat memunculkan indikator pembentukan karakter dalam proses pembelajaran. Model pembelajaran yang dapat memunculkan indikator pengembangan karakter adalah model pembelajaran Think - Pairs – Share (TPS). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui 1) kemampuan pemahaman konsep siswa yang menggunakan model pembelajaran TPS dan kemampuan pemahaman konsep siswa yang tidak menggunakan model pembelajaran TPS, 2) karakter jujur, tanggung jawab, dan disiplin siswa yang menggunakan model pembelajaran  TPS dan karakter jujur, tanggung jawab dan disiplin siswa yang tidak menggunakan model pembelajaran TPS. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa: 1) kemampuan pemahaman konsep siswa yang menggunakan model pembelajaran TPS lebih baik dibandingkan dengan kemampuan pemahaman konsep siswa yang tidak menggunakan model pembelajaran TPS, 2) karakter jujur, tanggung jawab, dan disiplin siswa yang menggunakan model pembelajaran  TPS TPS lebih baik dibandingkan dengan karakter jujur, tanggung jawab dan disiplin siswa yang tidak menggunakan model pembelajaran TPS.

Abstract

Permasalahan yang terdapat pada siswa kelas VI di SD HIDAYATUR ROHMAN adalah masihbanyaknya siswa yang menganggap bahwa pelajaran matematika adalah pelajaran yang sukar dipahami. Jika siswa tidak paham dengan pembelajaran yang dilakukan guru di kelas siswa tidak mau untuk bertanya kepada guru atau bahkan merasa malu dan takut kepada gurunya. Sehingga pembelajaran yang dilakukan di kelas sering kali tidak berhasil yang mengakibatkan prestasi belajar matematika siswa kelas VI sangat rendah dibandingkan dengan kelas yang lain. Sedangkan jika dilihat, anak-anak lebih merasa nyaman saat mereka bertanya kepada teman mereka yang lebih pandai di sela-sela istirahat maupun pada saat tidak ada Guru. Untuk itu perlu diterapkan strategi pembelajaran yang dapat membantu siswa yang mengalami masalah psikologi yaitu dengan strategi pembelajaran tutor sebaya. Siswa yang takut bertanya kepada guru, dapat dengan leluasa bertanya kepada teman sebaya siswa tanpa merasa canggung. Berdasarkan hal tersebut rumusan masalah yang diajukan adalah apakah prestasi belajar matematika siswa dapat meningkat melalui strategi pembelajaran tutor sebaya dalam materi bangun datar. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menunjukkan bahwa prestasi belajar matematika siswa dapat meningkat melalui strategi pembelajaran tutor sebaya dalam pokok bahasan bangun datar. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode dokumentasi, metode tes, dan metode observasi (pengamatan). Sedangkan Teknik Analisa Data dengan menggunakan analisis hasil belajar siswa, analisis ketuntasan belajar, analisis lembar pengamatan guru dan siswa, dan analisis peningkatan hasil belajar. Subyek dari penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VI SD HIDAYATUR ROHMAN SURABAYA. Dari hasil analisis data dan simpulan maka diperoleh hasil ujian pada siklus I dengan nilai rata-rata siswa sebesar 58,85 sedangkan nilai rata-rata pada akhir siklus II sebesar 74,47 sehingga mengalami peningkatan sebesar 26,54%. Pembelajaran dalamhal ini dikatakan berhasil karena ketuntasan hasil belajar siswa secara klasikal sebesar 80,95% yang artinya mengalami peningkatan sebesar 47,62% diatas indikator yang sudah ditetapkan, yaitu sebesar 75%. Sedangkan prosentase keaktifan siswa secara klasikal sebesar 80,95% dan keaktifan guru sebesar 91,25% sehingga dapat dikatakanhasil belajar pada pembelajaran siklus II dapat meningkat sesuai dengan indikator yang sudah ditetapkan.

Abstract

Learning equipment is important things that determine the quality of the learning process and output. We need a study about validity, practicality, and effectiveness of the learning equipment to ensure teaching and learning quality. The purpose of this research is to evaluate the validity of the learning equipment based on guided discovery, especially the students’ worksheets. This research was a descriptive qualitative research that provides the result of students’ worksheets and experts recommendation. The experts who validated these student’s worksheets were three experts on mathematics education. The instruments used in this study was the validation sheets for LKPD. The result of validation sheets analysis for LKPD showed that in general, the students’ worksheets were valid. The validity of the didactical aspect and contents aspect sequently were 0,667 dan 0,704.

Abstract

This research aims to determine differences in student anxiety levels based on gender and the relationship between students' anxiety levels before facing a mathematical test with achievement and then dig deeper information about the causes of anxiety in students. This research uses a mixed method with a sequential explanatory approach. The subjects of this study were students of class X MIA Kerinci Senior High School 2 totaling 100 students. The results of the research showed that students experiencing anxiety before taking a math test as the cause of anxiety is experience, intelligence, preparation, and family. Differences in levels of anxiety based on gender indicate that there is no significant difference between the level of anxiety experienced by male and female students but male students are more anxious than female students the cause is that there have been similar thoughts and goals in terms of achievement so as to make male students neither men nor women experience significant differences in anxiety levels. There is a relationship between the level of anxiety with learning outcomes of 0.43 which is in the category enough and has a positive relationship, namely the higher the level of anxiety, the higher the student learning outcomes. Descriptions of quantitative data indicate that there is no certainty for someone who has an anxiety level will get a definite value.

Abstract

Budaya merupakan suatu kebiasaan yang mengandung unsur-unsur nilai penting dan fundamental serta dekat dengan kehidupan manusia dan diwariskan dari generasi ke generasi. Budaya dapat dijadikan sebagai media pembelajaran bagi siswa disekolah sekaligus mempelajari budaya itu sendiri. Mandailing merupakan salah satu etnik dari Sumatera Utara yang memiliki budaya adat istiadat, warisan, tradisi yang khas, dan berbeda dengan kebudayaan lain yang harus dilestarikan. Salah satu kebudayaan mandailing adalah Gordang Sambilan yaitu alat musik tradisional yang terdiri dari sembilan gendang dengan tinggi dan diameter yang berbeda sehingga menghasilkan nada yang berbeda dan dimainkan oleh 5-6 orang pemain. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengeksplorasikan konsep matematika apa saja yang ada pada alat musik Gordang Sambilan sehingga dapat diimplementasikan pada pembelajaran matematika di dalam kelas. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif yang bersifat eksploratif tentang alat musik Gordang Sambilan. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat beberapa jenis konsep barisan aritmatika dan konsep geometri.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the process of students’ worksheet development for math subject and find out the quality of students’ worksheet produced for geometry subject which is based on Jambi culture. This research applies research and development (R&D) method to produce a particular product. Development model applied in this research is ADDIE with 5 stages, analysis, design, development, implementation, evaluation. Subjects of this research are two validators which consist of validator of material expert, validator of design expert and students of a junior high school in grade VII. Data collected in this research are qualitative and quantitative data. Instruments used in this research are a questionnaire and a final test. The result of this study shows the development of students’ ability in mathematical representation at high category based on a gain test with 0,7 in high criteria. The result of the analysis from the questionnaire shows > 80% positive. It can be concluded that students’ worksheet for math subject is good and can improve students’ creativity. Therefore, students’ worksheet can be effectively used by both teachers and students in geometry subject.

Abstract

This paper describes the validity analysis of applied statistical teaching materials based on ICT and project integrated which one of the first step of research and development, namely expert judgment. The instruments used in this study are the validation sheet of materials and ICT experts. The material expert validation sheet comprises 44 statements covering 4 aspects of the assessment, namely the feasibility of the material aspect, the feasibility of the language aspect, the feasibility of the teaching materials presentation aspect, and the feasibility of teaching effects on the student learning process. The ICT expert validation sheet consists of 15 statements regarding the assessment of the feasibility of teaching materials in terms of ICT aspects. Validator involved in this research is 3 experts. Data of this research are analyzed descriptively. The result of research indicate that 86,60% criteria of material aspect have been fulfilled and categorized as very good (4,33), 86% criteria of language aspect have been fulfilled and categorized as very good (4,30), 90% has been fulfilled and categorized as excellent (4.50), 96.60% criteria of the effects of the teaching materials on the learning process of students have been fulfilled and categorized as excellent (4.83), and 94.60% criteria of ICT aspects have been met and categorized as excellent (4.73). Based on these data, 91.60% of the criteria for the assessment of the feasibility of applied statistical teaching materials based on ICT and project integrated developed have been fulfilled, classified as excellent category (4.58) and appropriate for use in learning.
