Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out how hormonal induction  procedures and the quality of spawning results by observation and literature review. The time and place for testing hormone products is July 2018 at the BBI Pengujan. The research method is field observation of spawning Silver pompano fish with induction of several different hormones and reviewing literature. The research procedure included the implementation of spawning tests with 4 hormone inducers in 4 pairs of Silver pompano who were ready to spawn and conducted a literature study. The results of the study were induction of the hormone WOFA-FH, hCG Chorullon and Ovaprim spawning, while the Polaris hCG hormone did not occur spawning.

Abstract

Bauxite is one of the mining activities, which can lead to the phenomenon of Acid Mine Drainage (AMD). Activities developed by bauxite mining, since the beginning of operations are able to degrade environmental conditions and cause modifications to the main structure of the environment. Alternative to reducing the negative impact of bauxite mining production with re-utilize abandoned bauxite which forms puddles. The puddle of water on bauxite post-mining have potential for Aquaculture. Each sampling site is located in 5 (five) site based on post bauxite mining activities and determine the heavy metal concentraion of Pb and Cr. Soil and sediment samples were collected to analyze the grain size.  Total heavy metal concentrations using Atom Flame Absorption Spectrophotometer (AAS). Analysis of heavy metal concentration (Pb dan Cr) with enrichment factor (EF) value of heavy metals Pb indicates extremely high enrichment for post-mining bauxite site at Simpang Dompak, Dompak and Wacopek (EF> 40). Enrichment Factor (EF) Cr on post-mining bauxite post in Simpang Dompak and Sei.Carang site have EF value > 5 indicating this site contamination with Cr. Index Value, Igeo > 5 indicating very strongly contaminated Pb and Cr with Igeo <5 is contaminated moderately. Water quality in Post-mining bauxite shows good condition of water. In general, the post-mining area of ​​bauskit have potential for aquaculture activities although there is high Pb contamination on the substrate but the water quality parameter can utilized for dynamic organisms such as fish. Proper aquaculture techniques to manage the post-mining bauxite in order to be optimally utilized for cultivation activities.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know the type of fish food sembilang in waters of Pengujan Bay, Bintan Regency, Riau Islands Province. The research method is field survey with sampling of 35 fishes caught by fisherman catch. The research procedure involves the preparation of tools, materials, fish, surgery, observations, and descriptive data analysis. The results of this research are the types of fish food sembilang in bay waters of tembeling including crab, crustacean, gastropod and bivalvia.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the type of epiphytic microfungi in shrimp and sea crab with the assumption that the member of the crustacean phylum is the minihost. This research was conducted by in vitro using direct planting technique and 3 replications. The isolation began with the sample’s observation for 24 hours then the process of inoculation was continued and each representative colony was separated into single isolates. The results of the study obtained two microfungi’s types in epidermis tissue of Penaeus sp, and Portunus sp, namedly Fusarium sp. and Candida sp. Both types were opportunistic pathogens that can turn invasive and cause infection (immunocompromised) in the host and other organisms.

Abstract

Kopepoda merupakan salah satu elemen penting dalam rantai makanan pada ekosistem perairan. Perannya pada rantai makanan untuk transfer energy dari produsen ke konsumen tingkat pertama, yakni sebagai makanan bagi ikan-ikan kecil pada fase larva. Pengamatan dilakukan secara purposive sampling pada 3 stasiun penelitian (kawasan muara sungai, area penangkapan, serta permukiman penduduk). Teridentifikasi sebanyak 7 spesies kopepoda diantaranya Callanus sp., Lucicutia sp., Macrosetella sp., Nauplius sp., Oithona sp., Rhincalanus sp., Scolecithricella sp. Kelimpahan copepod  diperairan Desa Pengudang rata-rata sebesar 188,14 ind/L. Dari 7 jenis kopepoda yang dijumpai, jenis kopepoda Callanus sp., Macrosetella sp., Nauplius sp., Oithona sp., Rhincalanus sp., dan Scolecithricella sp. yang umumnya telah dikembangkan untuk digunakan sebagai pakan alami.
