Abstract

In reality, not a few teachers who have been certified as educators are less competent in teaching the field of study. Many teachers are also able to master the subject matter, but they have difficult to present the material. This research applied a qualitative method using a case study design. It was carried out in the State Madrasah schools of Salahutu District, Central Maluku Regency. This research was conducted from August to 02 November 2017. The subjects of this study were 3 Arabic teachers, two principals and 6 class students totaling 12 informants. Based on the results, it was found that the pedagogic competence of Arabic language teachers was still relatively low due to the several indicators that were not implemented during the learning process. The personality’s competence of Arabic language teachers is relatively good compared to their pedagogical competence. The lacks of training, facilities, and rewards have caused the low educational competence of teachers. Their personal competence is due to strict supervision and their commitment to building the ummah as followers of religion and not because of their profession as teachers. Students are motivated to learn Arabic due to the motivation is given by the teacher, the muamalah is good between teachers and students, and there is a continuous and rigorous evaluation.

Abstract

The world today has witnessed a strong demand for learning the Arabic language whether in the Arab countries or the non-Arab countries and this language is gaining importance day by day. The teaching of Arabic has expanded throughout the world, and its educational approaches have expanded, including the communicative approach. The aim of this study is to present a proposed vision for teaching Arabic language through communicative approach. The researcher adopted the descriptive analytical method. The study concluded that the learning program of communicative Arabic language should has several things, including: the educational aspects of the implementation of pedagogy, the role of the teacher, the role of the learner and the role of subjects, focus skills, other interests like teaching time, information technology and environment, and good preparation of the Arabic language communication textbook

Abstract

This study aimed at discovering various uslub used in Arabic language. The researcher used library research and analyzed it by utilizing the theories of balaghah and analyzing how native speakers use their Arabic.Every language has its way of technique of structuring words. And this way of technique means the method or the style used to share ones own ideas and feelings so that they reach to their supposed target and could be understood by all the readers or the listeners.So does it what occur in Arabic language that has various ways of teaching which will not only focus on the shift of reading marks but also on diction, subjects positioning, verbs, or objects those which play a role in making the way if teaching happen. To see a level of Arabic language proficiency, the way one uses uslub with its relevancy to the situation and condition can be seen as one parameter.Furthermore, the discussion on uslub cannot be separated from ilm balaghoh. Ilm balaghoh consists of 3 fields of discussion such as albayan, al maani, and al badi which have interlinked relation with uslub. This is due to the fact that even each field might have its own focus to be discussed, they will still collide in the discussion of uslub.

Abstract

Interferensi sering terjadi pada pembelajar bahasa asing karena adanya dominasi gramatikal bahasa pertama pada diri pembelajar ketika mereduksi makna ke dalam bahasa target atau bahasa kedua. Interferensi dapat diidentifikasi dengan dua pendekatan, yaitu; analisis kontrastif dan analisis kesalahan berbahasa. Tujuan dari hasil studi dan analisis yang telah dilakukan, untuk mengetahui beberapa struktur bahasa Indonesia sebagai bahasa pertama yang masuk dan mendominasi dalam struktur bahasa arab. Hal ini tampak jelas pada beberapa kesalahan yang dilakukan oleh pembelajar bahasa dalam berbahasa Arab dalam ragam bahasa tulis  (insya’) ataupun lisan (mukhadatsah), dan kesalahan tersebut ditemukan pada beberapa pola dan struktur kalimat dalam mengungkapkan sebuah makna (ta’bir) atau makna yang diungkapkan oleh pembelajar dengan bahasa yang digunakannya.Terdapat beberapa unsur sintaksis bahasa Indonesia (L1) yang mendominasi dalam pola struktur bahasa Arab pada ragam bahasa tulis ataupun lisan yang digunakan oleh pembelajar bahasa Arab (L2), dan dominasi bahasa pertama tampak jelas dan ditemukan pada beberapa kesalahan pada bahasa kedua, diantaranya yaitu; 1) Pola kalimat P+O+S dengan kata kerja transitif. 2) Pola kalimat P+S+O dengan kata kerja transitif. 3) Pola kalimat D + M dengan menggunakan kata tugas (Jar). 4) Subjek dengan menggunakan an + Fi’il mudhorik. 5) Kalimat pola D + M dengan variasi Kaana wa akhowatuha. 6) Penggunaan kata sifat (tarkib bayani). 7) Penggunaan sifat berbentuk kalimat. 8) Penggunaan penghubung antar kata. 9) Penggunaan bilangan dalam kalimat. Kata kunci: interferensi bahasa, sintaksis, bahasa Arab, metode deskriptif kualitatif.

Abstract

Public speaking merupakan suatu teknik mengomunikasikan pesan atau pendapat di depan banyak orang, dengan maksud agar orang lain dapat memahami informasi yang disampaikan atau bahkan mengubah pandangan atau pendapat mereka masing-masing. Kegiatan kultum beberapa bahasa menjadi salah satu cara untuk meningkatkan kemampuan public speaking santri ma’had Darul Hikmah. Sehingga adanya penelitian ini dimaksudkan untuk meneliti bagaimana mencetak skill pubilc speaking santri ma’had Darul Hikmah melalui kegiatan kultum beberapa bahasa.Penelitian ini termasuk jenis penelitian studi khasus karena penelitian dilakukan untuk menganalisis setiap individu dan menggali fenomena pada potensi public speaking skill santri ma’had dengan beberapa bahasa asing.Penelitian ini, dapat diketahui bahwa dalam mencetak public speaking skill seorang santri dapat dilakukan dengan beberapa cara, seperti cara yang dilakukan oleh Ma’had Darul Hikmah. Di Ma’had tersebut, para santri diajarkan agar terampil dan terbiasa berbicara didepan umum melalui kultum yang diadakan setelah sholat magrib. Tujuannya adalah untuk melatih keberanian santri saat berbicara di depan umum, dapat pula menjadi sebuah persiapan santri sebelum terjun di masyarakat.

Abstract

We desperately need a good hearing in this life, because if we have a hearing disorder or just a little hearing loss then we will have difficulty in communicating with others. Many language teachers, especially Arabic, ignore the skill of listening lesson.With this research, can be known how far the effectiveness of MP3 usage in learning listening skills of Arabic language, to distinguish the sound of that language. By using the media players 3 (MP3), the researcher can carry out learning listening skill with a nice and fun with the evidence of the students who are more enthusiastic when following the lesson. This medium can only be effective for advanced students with 6% increase in outcomes, but for notice students who have the ability to think slowly it will be ineffective, as evidenced by a decline in value of -6,5%. It is due to the lack of students ability to listen to the voice of native speakers who tend to be fast, and also the dialect used by native speakers is different from the dialect they use every day.

Abstract

The Departments of Arabic are established in universities with the aim of raising the standard of Arabic Studies in higher institutions and with the objective of researching into the problems of Arabic language and literature in order to find solutions to them. The purpose of this article is to assess the current state of Arabic in Nigeria and examine the contributions of the Departments of Arabic in Nigerian universities to the spread and development of Arabic, its pedagogy, its challenges, its curriculum development as well as the problems and prospects of the Departments. Structurally, the paper is divided into four sections. While the first section discussed the growth and development of Arabic learning in the Departments of Arabic in Nigerian universities, the second section examined the achievements of the Departments. The third section was devoted to the investigation of the problems that face the Departments while proffering solutions to them. The fourth and last section concluded the study.  The study found that the Departments of Arabic have contributed immensely to raising the standard of Arabic and its culture in Nigeria though its curricula did not accommodate the needs of the present time. The paper suggested, among other things, that Arabic curricula should be updated to cater for the needs of the present time. It also recommended that universities in Arab countries should endeavour to have Academic Linkages and Educational Collaborations with Nigerian universities as well as with other universities in non-Arab countries in order to facilitate student and staff exchange, research and resource sharing and thereby enhance, promote and deepen the theory and practice of Arabic Studies as crucial academic discipline in the community of world universities and global knowledge economy.

Abstract

 The study aimed at measuring the effect of translanguaging approach in teaching Arabic reading comprehension to the second semester students of Indonesian Education Department, Universitas Iqra Buru. 64 students involved as the participants through simple random sampling technique. 32 students participated in each of the experimental and control group. The researchers used reading test of written test to obtain information about the students’ achievemnt in reading on the use of translanguaging approach and it was distributed to the respondents after the last treatment given. To find out the mean score, standard deviation and the t-test value between the pretest and the posttest the researchers used the SPSS 17 program. The researchers found that the use of translanguaging approach in learning Arabic reading comprehension improves the students’ ability of Arabic reading comprehension is better than the conventional method.

Abstract

This research is aimed to reveal the appropriateness of Arabic textbook for the first grade of Islamic Elementary School/ Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI) published by Ministry of Religious Affairs of Indonesia in 2014 by using scientific approach. In analyzing this textbook, the researcher used library research and analyzed it by using content analysis and utilizing the theory of Arabic textbook arrangement by Nashir al-Ghali, besides that, the researcher also analyzed it by considering four aspects of Arabic textbook arrangement by Mackey which involves: selection, gradation, presentation, and repetition. And to identify either the textbook is appropriate or not to use based on 2013 curriculum standard, therefore, the researcher used regulation of Ministry of Religious Affairs (PMA) of Indonesia, Number: 0912 years 2013 about 2013 curriculum for madrasah of Islamic education and Arabic subjects as references. The result of the analysis on Arabic textbook with scientific approach of 2013 curriculum for the first grade of Islamic elementary school (Madrasah Ibtidaiyah) published by Ministry of Religious Affairs in 2014 showed that it was relevant and appropriate to be used to the students at the first grade of elementary level (Madrasah level) as material source that can support to achieve the goals of Arabic learning.

Abstract

Facebook is a social media that is very popular with students in Indonesia. Thus, this study attempted to examine the increased of students’ Arabic acquisition through Facebook group learning. This research was quantitative research using quasi-experimental design. The sample of this study consists of two classes from the students of the Arabic language education department at UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim. The instrument of this research was writing test. The results of this study indicated an increase of students’ Arabic acquisition so the researchers concluded that Facebook groups can improve the students’ ability to write in Arabic.
