Abstract

This study aims at how to develop sparkol video scribe assisted mathematics learning media and produce valid, practical, effective and responsive media. To achieve this goal the authors develop the media using research development methods with steps: (1) analysis, (2) design, (3) development, (4) implementation, (5) evaluation. Subjects in this study were students of the University of Islam Raden Intan Lampung with data collection instruments used in the form of a questionnaire given to the material experts, media experts, and questionnaire responses to students to know the interest of learning media developed mathematics. The results of this study produce a product in the form of sparkol video scribe-assisted mathematics learning media on assignment material (linear program) in higher education; knowing the feasibility of the developed product quality is very feasible with a score of 83,7% based on expert material judgment and 91,5% by the media expert in a very feasible category. Students responses in sparkol video scribe assisted instructional media on assignment material (linear program) obtained a score of 83,2% with very interesting criteria in college. based on the suggestions from material experts and media experts to the author to be disseminated to lecturers for use in the learning process.

Abstract

This research is an ethnomathematics study of the Biak Papuan community. The ethnomathematics studied are houses and traditional musical instruments. The shape and style of the traditional Biak house still remain to this day. The purpose of this study was to examine and reveal the relationship between mathematics and the traditional home culture of the Biak community, namely rum Som, rum Sram and Sram Mankubui and traditional musical instruments namely Tifa. The research method used is an exploratory survey method with a qualitative approach. The results showed that the shape of the roof of rum Som, rum Sram, Sram Mankubui was rectangular, half elliptical and triangular trapezoid. Whereas Tifas musical instruments look like the two most belted cones combined.

Abstract

The purpose of the research aims at identifying the influence of student??s mathematical learning outcomes from a generative learning model assisted through Wingeom Software. The research was conducted at SMP 262 in April 2018 of the 2017/2018 academic year.  The research employed a Quasi-Experiment method with cluster random sampling from two classes, that is, VIII-A and VIII-B. The research instrument used the test essay of student??s Mathematical learning outcomes of which the eight items considered as to be valid and reliable. The normality test was carried out by using Liliefors while the homogeneity test uses the Fisher test. The finding shows that class VIII-A taught by generative learning model assisted through Wingeom Software has higher values than the class with no generative learning model implementation. In conclusion, the average value of students taught by a generative learning model assisted through Wingeom Software is considered to be higher than the ones who are not imposed by the generative learning model.

Abstract

This research was conducted to improve the understanding of the concept of PGSD students STKIP NU Indramayu by utilizing the Karangsong beach as a learning resource based on local wisdom. The research method used is mixed method research or sequential explanatory strategy, which is a strategy that is applied by collecting and analyzing quantitative data in the first stage. In this study, data collection and analysis increase understanding of the concept of living things and their environment after being treated, followed by collecting and analyzing qualitative data in the second stage, namely revealing obstacles and solutions to students in utilizing the Karangsong beach as a learning resource based on local wisdom. The research subjects were PGSD students at STKIP NU Indramayu who attended the basic concepts of biology in elementary school. The utilization of Karangsong beach as a learning resource based on local wisdom can improve students understanding of concepts as evidenced by the acquisition of  N-Gain values of 0.81 in the high category. As for the constraints and obstacles faced by students revealed through interviews. Based on the results of interviews, external factors are more than internal factors. The lack of application of the right learning model is one of the inhibiting factors in this study. This has caused learning goals cannot be achieved optimally

Abstract

The problems that arise in the school/madrasah are the weakness of the teachers ability to prepare, manage, and carry out the physics lab. This study aims to analyze the ability of laboratory management and the level of a literacy science physics teacher. The method used in this study is literature study with the literature review of the results of research the last five years describes how the professional ability of physics teachers in managing physics laboratories and science literacy teachers in Indonesia. Based on the results of the analysis of the relevant research results that: (1) the laboratory serves to support learning by directing students to think scientific; (2) limited learning in the laboratory can lead to weak literacy of students knowledge; (3) Implementation of physics lab activities in schools is still classified as less because of the ability of science literacy teachers in managing the laboratory has not been optimal.

Abstract

This research is a quasi-experiment that aims to know: (1) the difference of science learning achievement between the learning method of everyone is a teacher here with the method of discussion learning (2) the difference of science learning achievement for high and low critical thinking skill (3) the interaction between learning method and the critical thinking skill of the learning achievement of science. Design research using factorial design 2x2. Data collection techniques using test techniques, observation techniques, questionnaires, and documentation. Data analysis techniques for hypothesis testing using a two-way ANOVA test. Based on the results of this research, it can be concluded that: (1) there is a very significant difference the learning outcomes of science between the learning method of everyone is a teacher here with the method of discussion learning (p = 0,000) (2) there is a very significant difference of science learning achievement for high and low critical thinking skills (p = 0,000) and (3) there is a significant interaction between the learning method and the critical thinking skill of the learning achievement (p = 0,040).

Abstract

Engklek Geometry is one of mathematics learning media for rectangular material. The purpose of this research is to describe the development process of Engklek Geometry learning media to be valid, reliable, and effective. The development model used in this research is the 4-D development model, and the research method is developed with quantitative descriptive approach. Engklek Geometry learning media generated in this development research is valid, reliable, and effective for rectangular material. The value product of Engklek Geometrimathematics learning media is 3.17, it is"valid" category. Media effectiveness is reviewed from four aspects, namely learning outcomes, student activities, student responses, and teaching ability. The result of this research in class VII C SMP Muhammadiyah 4 Surabaya with classical completion percentage 89,28%, student activity is in the ??active? category with percentage 94,95%, student response is "very strong" category with percentage 87,5%, and the value of the teachers ability is 3.72 classified as "very good" category. While in the second trial in class VII E SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Surabaya obtained the results of learning with a percentage of classical completeness 93.1%, student activity with a percentage of 95.85 is in the "very active" category, student responses obtained percentage 82.07% "very strong", and the value of the teachers ability is 3.59 classified as "very good" category.

Abstract

The study aims to develop a mathematical comic??s media of vector material on the subject of vector notation and its operation through the strategy of Preview, Question, Read, Reflect, Recite, Review (PQ4R). Furthermore, the product implemented for senior high school students at SMA N 1 Langke Rembong 2017/2018 academic years to know the quality of the media. The instruments used in this research are mathematical comic evaluation sheet, student response questionnaire, and student achievement mathematics test. The learning aid develops through the development model of ADDIE namely Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The results show that the validity of learning aid with the criteria passes without revision based on the validator assessment of the material, language, and media with the score of 4.00, 4.00, and 3.75 respectively. For the aspect of practicality, the media includes in passing criteria and appropriate to be used without revision based on teachers assessment of comic mathematics with score 4.47 and student response questionnaire with score 3.64 with criteria well used in the learning process. Lastly, the potential effects of mathematical comics include in the high standards based on student achievement test with the percentage of mastery by 75%.

Abstract

The purpose of this study to design a measurement instrument independence character of middle school students. Research using research and development (R & D). Stages of the research process include: reviewing the concept, making the construct and design the instruments, experts?? assessment, the empirical pre-test, and empirical testing. Test experts were conducted by experts through quantitative and qualitative assessments were followed by improvements to the instrument. Pre empirical testing was done by trial and instruments in small-scale followed by repair and selection of items. Empirical testing is a field test on a large scale at middle school students who were followed by the selection of grains and calculation of reliability of the instrument. Research and development results obtained as follows. (1) Measurement code developed with the student independence four dimensions: freedom, initiative, progressive and resilient, and confident. The dimension of freedom comprising: able to make their own choices and able to perform his own activities. Dimension Initiative consists of: being able to think and act in an indigenous, and doing creative activities. The results of this study are expected secondary school teachers can have a reference or guidelines for measuring the character of student independence

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to describe preservice teachers?? mathematical reasoning ability in solving algebra problem based on reflective and impulsive cognitive style. Therefore, the total subject of this research is two pre-service teacher who has the cognitive style different from each other. It means that the subject of this research is one pre-service teacher who has reflective cognitive style and one pre-service teacher who has an impulsive cognitive style. In addition, the category of research method used is explorative research with the qualitative approach where researchers tried to describe the mathematical reasoning ability of pre-service teachers in solving the mathematical problem according to cognitive style. As for the components of mathematical reasoning ability in this research are analysis, generalization, synthesis, justifying and non-routine problem-solving. According to the components, there was one subject who could analyze the given problem while the others subjects could not. Moreover, all of the subjects have a difficulty in another component.
