Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of lecturer pedagogic competence on learning motivation of Social Studies Department FKIP ULM students. The research method is used a quantitative approach. The research subjects consisted of 150 social studies students with full sampling. The data collection methods in the form of observation, literature study, documentation, and questionnaires. The data analysis was done by percentage techniques and simple linear regression analysis with the help of SPSS 16 for windows. The results showed that the pedagogic competence of lecturers was in the good category at 82.4%, the learning motivation of students was in the sufficient category of 74.5%. The results of simple linear regression analysis show that tcount (5.712)> t table (1.976), it can be stated that the hypothesis test Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. This study can be concluded that the pedagogical competence of lecturers has a significant influence on student learning motivation.

Abstract

Abstract This study was conducted to know the factors contributing to the anxiety in speaking English experienced by students of a high school in Jombang. This study identified the factors of anxiety in speaking English based on the phenomenon experienced by the students. The research method used in this study was descriptive quantitative. Ten students who felt anxious in speaking were chosen as respondent based on the results of the questionnaire from preliminary study.The research instruments used in the data collection was questionnaire. While the data analysis was the frequency distribution analysis (percentage of occurrence).The result shows that there were three factors that cause anxiety in speaking the factors were: communication apprehension, test anxiety, and negative evaluation. The results of this study showed that the first factor had the most influenced on students' anxiety in speaking English was the communication apprehension which was the strongest factor causing the students’ anxiety in speaking. The second was the test Anxietyand the last one is the fear of being evaluated negatively.

Abstract

The constructivist learning model is formulated in three problem formulations, 1) What is the new literacy-based contructivist learning model in Islamic Education? 2) What is the concept of transmission from constructive-based learning to new literacy in Islamic Education? 3) What is the strategy for transforming constructivist learning based on new literacy in Islamic Education? The aim is to describe the learning model, and also describe the concept of transmission from learning and analyze the strategies of transformational constructivist learning based on new literacy in Islamic religious education. The method uses the inductive qualitative literature method, to explain the results of several scientific works then reduced to a finding by developing existing findings into an innovation and invasion for the development of Islamic religious education. The findings are in the form of PAI learning strategies using constructivistic learning models and new literacy theories that produce reflection meta-cognition for students. Constuctivistic learning needs to be developed also in the affective domain in order to be able to provide changes in the character of students so that students feel a change in him every PAI subject matter is given to him.

Abstract

Abstract The objective of teaching English as foreign language in Indonesia is the students are competence in oral and written language. This study is aimed to know wether or not the objective of the government policy has been reached. The design of the research is qualitative descriptive. the data collection technique used observation, questionnaire interview and documentation.The result of the study showed that the students result of learning English in private schools is very low in which the students did not understand spoken or written text. They even could not practice English orally or in writing. In implementing teaching English, the teachers did not conduct the objective of teaching English has been stated by Indonesia government. Besides, the teaching and learning process, they have conducted, did not apply the teaching language principles. In this case Indonesia government has to  review the teaching and learning process especially in private schools, and the teachers have to consider and learn how to teach the language and language skills.

Abstract

Essentially, K2S was established to be an unified forum for all Javanese in Kupang City and its surroundings. K2S was a kinship independent social organization which is not affiliated with other social political or community organizations. The main objective of K2S was to develop family relations, brotherhood, togetherness and harmonization between K2S members, maintain and develop the values of Javanese art and culture, tradition, supporting faith activities, strengthen worship, and enhance morals of K2S members based on their dogma and it was also for contributions of Kupang city development. This study was done to ascertain the efforts of K2S in improving education of Islamic community in Kupang city. In this qualitative descriptive research, the data was gathered through interviews, observation, and documentation. The data was analyzed use the interactive data analysis models by Milles and Huberman. The study showed that the Javanese social harmony intercaction (K2S) took part in: 1. Social community aspects; 2. member’s training and empowerments; 3. spirituality; 4. Arts and culture.

Abstract

The achievements and innovations developed by Banyuwangi District turned out to have many problems in the midst of the community, such as poverty, education (out of school children) who needed good handling. Based on observations and information obtained by researchers there are 10 sub-districts in Banyuwangi District, where the highest number of school dropouts is Rogojampi, Glagah, Tegaldlimo, Banyuwangi City. Gambiran, Kalipuro, Muncar, Kalibaru, Wongsorejo, and Singojuruh. The method used in this study is a qualitative method with descriptive analysis techniques. The data collection techniques using observation, interviews, and documentation. And the data sources are children who experience school dropouts, the Education Office, Tegadlimo UPTD and archives of school dropouts in Kecamatan Teglimlimo. The results of this study indicate, that the factors of school dropouts in Tegadlimo sub-district, Kalipait Village, Kendalrejo and Purwoagung are economic factors, leaving their parents to leave as migrant workers or die, access roads, juvenile delinquency and the environment. Whereas the government's way of dealing with school dropouts is by providing pocket money, smart Banyuwangi transport money, effective garda savings, being included in the package A, B and C equality program, KIP (Kartu Indonesia Pintar) program and SAS Program (Siswa asuh Sebaya).

Abstract

Abstract Reading is considered as an important aspect for students because of its valuable benefit in developing knowledge. There are approaches of teaching reading such as top-down, bottom up, and interactive approach. Some studies was conducted in applying interactive strategy such as Jigsaw learning method. For the purpose of teaching narrative text, the researcher try to observe and analyze the effectivenes of Jigsaw learning method by using an experimental research. The study was conducted on the tenth grade students in SMA Darussalam in the academic year 2018/2019. The writer used testing instrument, pre-test and posttest. The result of the data analysis are as follows: (1) the student’s reading comprehension before being taught by using jigsaw learning model is fair, (2) the student’s reading comprehension after being taught by using jigsaw learning model is good, (3) there is significant difference of the reading comprehension for the students before and after being taught by using jigsaw learning model. So, the writer conclude that, teaching reading comprehension using jigsaw learning model is effective in increasing students’ reading comprehension on narrative text.

Abstract

Hadith prayer orders textually understood at first glance seem to highlight physical violence that is not relevant to modern education. Textual and contextual understanding of Hadith must distinguish between fixed goals and changing means so that new interpretations of Hadith can be found. The purpose of this study is to explain the concept of Islamic Parenting education in the hadith about prayer orders. The method used is a library review by examining the study of the books and the thoughts of the scholars. Based on Islamic Parenting education can be traced the main spirit that the Prophet's education in practice was actually gentle and proved to have a profound influence on the souls of his friends. Islamic Parenting education aims to provide psychoeducation for parents based on character and Islamic positive habits

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the influence of Student Discipline and Infrastructure Facility to Student Achievement Achievement in SMAN 9 Kota Tangerang Banten. The research method used is quantitative method through the spreading of questionnaires with population number 191 and the sample is 129 respondents, based on slovin formula. Based on the results of research using partial and multiple linear regression analysis with the help of SPSS version 23 shows that partially indicates that the Discipline Students have a positive and significant influence of 30.7% on Student Achievement, partially indicate that the infrastructure has no positive and significant effect of 3.4% against Student Achievement.Partially, both results indicate that student discipline and facilities of Infrastructure are jointly tested by F test proved to have a positive and significant influence on Student achievement siswadan influence magnitude seen from niali coefficient of determination (R²) is 9.4%

Abstract

This content analysis was intended to analyze the physical and cognitive designs of a teaching video for Basic Speaking course developed for Z generation at IKIP Budi Utomo Malang. In order to get precise analysis, the researchers involved four English teachers, who teach Basic Speaking, to observe and score the video. To get objective scores, the four teachers were requested to use scoring rubric assessment adapted from (Morain and Swarts, 2012 in Tolentino 2016:109); besides they were also asked to give additional comments on the quality of the video. After the scores and comments were gathered and interpreted, it can be noticed that the video entitled “Dare to Speak Up” was categorized as a good video. Therefore, those who teach Speaking for beginners are suggested to use this video as one of learning sources. Even though the video was declared to be good, its effectiveness still remained unanswered. Accordingly, further researchers are motivated to do an experimental research to measure the effectiveness of the video.
