Abstract

Abstract. Infectious and parasitic diseases is one of various disease that the most common. Based on data from the World Health Organization (WHO) in 2011, infectious and parasitic diseases become the third largest cause of death in the world. One of the plants that have potential as an antimalarial is suruhan (Peperomia pellucida). The purpose of this study is to test antimalarial activity against Plasmodium falciparum and analysis photochemistry consituen from extract suruhan. Antimalarial activity test using Desjardin method. Extraction was done by using maceration wuth methanol as a solvent and fractionation using partition methods. Results of phytochemical screening revealed the presence of alkaloids, flavonoid, steroid, saponins and triterpenoid test results antimalarial activity fraction of n-hexane, ethyl acetate and water show IC50 values are 12.80, 2.90 and 10.74 mg/ mL respectively. Abstract

Abstract   The research was aim to investigate the relation between food animal origin dietary patterns and breast cancer in Banda Aceh. This case-control study compared the dietary pattern of food animal origin  between 45 breast cancer patients and 45 age-matched controls. Six  dietary patterns were difined by food frequency questioner (FFQ): food animal origin, preserved of food animal origin, processing of food, fats and oils, vegetables and fruits patterns. Preserved of food animal origin were significantly associated with the incidence of breast cancer with an odds ratio (OR) 5.86 [95% confidence interval (CI) = 1.49-21.65] respectively; p = 0.013; while food animal origin, processing of food. fats and oils, vegetables and fruits dietary patterns were not associated with the incidence of breast cancer. The conclution of the research that salt fish and keumamah  play an important role of the assosiation. Keywords : Breast cancer, dietary patterns, food animal origin

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar kimia siswa pada materi laju reaksi melalui penerapan metode eksperimen. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kuantitatif dengan pendekatan asosiatif. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh Kelas VIII SMP PENABUR Secondary Tanjung Duren tahun ajaran 2016/2017 yang berjumlah 56 orang dan terdiri dari 3 kelas. Sampel dipilih secara acak dengan jumlah masing-masing 17 siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah soal essay test. Uji hipotesis dilakukan dilakukan dengan uji t-test dengan taraf signifikansi 0.05 menggunakan aplikasi spss. Dari hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa melalui uji hipotesis diperoleh nilai sig 0.033 < 0.05; data penelitian terdistribusi normal dengan nilai sig 0.843 > 0.05, serta menunjukkan homogenitas dengan nilai sig. = 0.953 > 0.05. Terdapat peningkatan hasil belajar kimia siswa melalui penerapan metode eksperimen sebesar 77,5%.Kata kunci: hasil belajar, kimia, laju reaksi, metode eksperimen

Abstract

Abstract. This study aims to determine the effect of Macromedia Flash software on cooperative learning TAI (Team Assisted Individualization) on learning outcomes of students in the subject Thermochemistry. The population in this study were all students of class XI SMA Negeri 1 Stabat IA class on academic year of 2010/2011 consisting of 4 classes. Samples were taken by random sampling which consisted of the experimental class I and experiment II. The experimental class conduct with a model of cooperative learning TAI type of media with the use of Macromedia Flash and the experimental class II applied by cooperative learning TAI without media. The instrument used was in the form of multiple-choice test of 20 items that have been valid. Then test the hypothesis using a different test (t test). Research results obtained average value pretest experiment class I is 12.5 and the average value of the experimental class II pretest was 17.36. After the different treatment given to both classes of the average values ​​obtained posttest experimental class I was 71.25 and the average value posttest experimental class II is 61.39. The hypothesis was tested by t test with results tcount> ttable (2.8125> 1.669) which means that the hypothesis that "there is the influence of Macromedia Flash software on the model of cooperative learning TAI type on learning outcomes of students on the subject of chemical thermochemical" unacceptable. Abstract

Abstract Malaria is an infectious disease remains that has become a global concern. Arongan Lambalek sub district was an endemic area of malaria in West Aceh regency. It was in Medium Incidence Area category with Annual Parasite Incidence (API) value of 3,67 per 1000 population. This case was still above the target of National API elimination phase that was less than 1 per 1000 population in 2013. The study was conducted in Drien Rampak Community Health Center Work Area in Arongan Lambalek of Aceh Barat Regency with the purpose to know the relationship of characteristic, socioeconomic, behavioral and environmental factors and determine the most dominant variable that influence the malaria incidence in Arongan Lambalek sub district of Aceh Barat District. This study was an analytical observational study with case-control approach. Samples were taken by using purposive sampling method with a total sample of 66 respondents, consisting of 33 cases and 33 controls that met the inclusion and exclusion criteria, in this term, case group comprised of people who tested positive for malaria while control group comprised of people who tested negative for malaria based on laboratory tests/RDT (rapid diagnostic test). The results of the bivariate analysis using Chi Square test it was found that there were five variables associated with the incidence of malaria in Arongan Lambalek sub district of Aceh Barat Regency, such occupation (p = 0,000; OR= 0,048), knowledge (p= 0,000; OR= 17,50), attitude (p= 0,001; OR= 7,429), precaution (p= 0,000; OR= 9,80) and the environment (p= 0,000; OR= 9,0). Based on the multivariate logistic regression analysis, the most dominant variable on the incidence of malaria was knowledge about the malaria (p= 0,006; OR= 12,78; 95% CI = 2,045-79,893). It is recommended that further analysis on behavioral factors should be carry out, especially in knowledge in relation to the incidence of malaria in Aceh Barat District. Abstract

Abstract: The development of social media into todays style of life. The decline in the childs desire to follow communities a result of the use of social media affect the formation of character in children. Character education is a very good effort from all of people who develop education. Science briefing will children with good character is the responsibility of all of people involved in education for the future of dignity. Teachers is an asset in the world of education should have good prospects in education which is not a crisis of character. Organization is a place for prospective teachers to build character. This study aims to describe the role of student organization of study program in developing the leadership character of prospective educators of Chemistry Christian University of Indonesia. The focus in this research is the role of organization of student set of study program in shaping the leadership character of prospective educator. In this research, qualitative approach and case study research design is used to collect data by technique (1) in-depth interview, (2) nonparticipant observation, (3) documentation study. Data analysis techniques use data reduction, data presentation, verification or conclusion. The result of this research is the role of organization of student set of study program in shaping the leadership character of prospective educator by giving courage, integrity, good sense of humor and maturity which is 96.5%, 93,75%, 93,75% and 91, 25% on prospective educators. So, the students are expected to join the organization of student group of study program is effort done in shaping the leadership character of prospective educator of Chemistry Christian University of Indonesia.Keywords: character, chemistry, educators

Abstract

Abstract. The impact of using computer based multimedia to student’s chemistry achievement of crude oil topic at X class SMA N 1 Indralaya. The aims of this research to determine how different achievement between study by using computer and without using it in crude oil topic. The programme used macromedia flash 8. The method used quasi experiment. Data collection technique by test value. Test result prove experiment class in achievement. Experiment got average value 78,99 and 69,01 to control. Experiment class have passed standard value more than 85% and only 64,4% for control class. T-test significance level 5% t.count > t.table was 2,83 > 2,00. The result showed, there was significant differences between experiment class and control class. Keyword: multimedia based computer, student achievement

Abstract

Abstract. This research aims to know the effect of application camtasia studio multimedia and power-point media toward activities and student learning outcomes in the atomic structure topic. The population in this research were all of tenth grade students of SMA Swasta Ar Rahman Medan as much as 2 classes of 60 people, divided into two classes of samples with total sampling. The research data were collected from the sample is in the form of student learning activity data derived from observation and questionnaire, and student learning outcomes obtained from tests of learning outcomes in the form of multiple choice of 20 questions with a reliability of 0.832 (very high). Tests have been conducted in the form requirements of normality and homogeneity test, the result that normal and homogeneous data. The hypothesis was tested with General Linear Model (GLM) at a significance level of 0.05 using SPSS 21 for windows. Based on data analysis and hypothesis testing are carried out found that: (1) There is a significant difference from the application of Camtasia studio multimedia and power-point toward the learning outcomes of students in the atomic structure topic, which is shown by sig. (P) 0.026 and tcount (2,291) ; (2) There are differences in students learning activities of the application Camtasia studio multimedia and power-point media in the atomic structure topic, which is shown by sig. (P) 0,000 and mean of experiment-1 (77,69) > mean of experiment-2 (74,35); (3) There was a significant interaction between the media applied learning with students learning activities in influencing student learning outcomes in the atomic structure topic, which is shown by sig. Abstract

Abstract This article report from an action research,  aims to Strengthening Classroom Management,  question skills and reinforcement learning Competencies through  PPL-scenes (site experience) on  teaching chemistry. This research conduct  in SMA Negeri 1 Tanjung Pura Langkat  Province of North Sumatera by student training school (which take) PPL  activities .  The action research data collect by applying the technique of observation and interpretation simultaneously. The focus of this study is the observation in classroom management competence, questioning skills, giving reinforcement by student PPL Chemistry, in the learning process cycle unit Chemistry. The format of observations taken from 2012 UPPL Referring as an instrument and descriptive method used to data analysis. The research data shows  (1). To understand and recognize the mistake in learning activities Chemistry student behavior during the learning process, the student has increased sensitivity, especially at the end of the first cycle. (2). There are efforts through trial and error on the situation facing the class, after the experimentalist began to recognize the use of techniques of classroom management, the provision of reinforcement and questioning skills. (3). Student have been able to use classroom  management, giving  reinforcement and questioning skills in a more professional and situational aspects into account at the end of the third cycle. (4). Action research cycles have been successfully established practitioner competence in the use of classroom management, asking and giving reinforcement to the situation facing the class. Based on the analysis above action research proved very suitable to form an calu student competence as a Chemistry teacher. Abstract

Abstract. Learning activities and critical thinking skills students of Biology at the University Ottow Geissler organic chemistry courses remains low. Lack of critical thinking skills is demonstrated by the low student learning outcomes of students. To enhance critical thinking skills and learn to apply the learning outcome types Cooperative Think Pair Share ( TPS ). The population was students of Biology, University of Papua years teaching Ottow Geissler 2012/2013 consists of 10 students. This study aims to determine the relationship of cooperative learning model Think Pair Share ( TPS ) through the experimental method to the results of students of the University Ottow berajar Geissler ( Sub Topic Hydrocarbon Compounds ). Relationship learning model is designed based on the results of preliminary studies, further validated by experts then tested the students of Biology, University of Ottow Geissler using purposive sampling. Is a quantitative research instrument. Quality of the instrument based on the validity and reliability of the instrument in the form of questionnaires and tests. The conclusion from this study is that there is a fairly strong relationship cooperative learning model Think Pair Share ( TPS ) Method Through Experiment Against the critical thinking skills of 0.5730 and has dealt cooperative learning model Think Pair Share ( TPS ) with the learning outcome of -0.719.
