Abstract

This study aimed to describe the coping strategies by working students. Respondents are 5 working students. Data collected by interview and observation methods. The results showed that of the five respondents note that the source of stress is difficult to manage time on doing their tasks, workloads and schedules collide, and not easy to get permission to attend the classes. At respondents 2 and 5, less family support while respondents 4, co-workers who do not support. Respondents 5, there are transportation constraints. The coping strategies that do fifth respondent is to be open to the closest associates and families, assertive to the boss, and try to look at the issues more positively. In the second respondent also doing hobbies with friends and did not procrastinate. On 3 respondents anticipated by ditching college and make it a priority. In the fourth respondent, trying to avoid problems with sleep, surrender to God, and to receive advice from others. While the respondent 5, grateful and try to control his emotions. Can be seen on the respondents 1 and 3, their own colleagues and family support them so that they can solve the problems they face.Keyword: Working, Coping, Stress, College Student.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the effectiveness of the technique loci in improving memory in class X SMAN 6 Academic Year 2014/2015. The method used is action research counseling (PTBK). The population of this study were students of class X-3 SMA Negeri 6 Medan which numbered 40 people. Data analysis techniques in this study using descriptive qualitative data analysis techniques. Based on the results obtained before the service is 26% and is still in the category of "less" and is still in the analysis were not good, therefore it is necessary for the application of the use of techniques loci were done through the implementation of content services in order to resolve the problem remembering. After the use of techniques loci in remembering which is done through the implementation of content services using two cycles obtained results of the analysis has reached 87.50% and is in the category of "Good". So the hypothesis which states that "by using the loci technique can improve the ability to remember in class X SMAN 6 Academic Year 2014/2015 is implemented through the provision of content services" accepted.Keyword: Content Service, Memory, Loci technique

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to enhance positive thinking skills in adolescentsrefugees of Mount Sinabung through counselling service delivery in the KWK Berastagi Kab. Karo ". The number of research subjects were 10 people. Data collection tool used observation and questionnaires. The results obtained in the first observation is 51.67%, and after being given the service, the first cycle increased to 74.58%, but has not reached the "good" then made back in the second cycle, and achieved good category as 85.41%. Then the hypothesis that through the provision of counseling services can improve the groups ability to think positively on young refugees of Mount Sinabung Berastagi KWK, Kab.Karo otherwise acceptedKeyword: Group counseling service, Positive thinking skill, Refugee

Abstract

This study aimed to determine differences in terms of conformity of Locus Of Control adolescent high school students in SMK DwiWarna Medan. This study used comparative quantitative research methods. Data collection techniques used in this study, using a scale of Locus Of Control and Conformity Scale which has been tested for validity and reliability. The results showed that there were differences between Locus Of Control against conformity (F = 32.608, p <0.000). Thus it can be said when Locus Of Control, the internal low conformity. Meanwhile, when Locus Of Control Externally, the high conformity in SMA featured DwiWarna Medan. Another result is internal Locus Of Control (ME = 17.706, MH = 27), whereas the external Locus Of Control (ME = 21.260, MH = 27). Conformity in this study were moderate (ME = 19.1379, MH = 18).Keyword: Comformity, Locus Of Control

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to improve the interpersonal communication skills of students through group counseling using techniques sociodramas. The method used is PTBK (Action Research Guidance and Counseling) with two cycles consisting of four stages, namely planning, action, observation, and reflection. The subjects were 9 students of class VIII-7. From the analysis of data obtained by 5 students who have low interpersonal communication skills and 4 students have moderate interpersonal communication skills. After the first cycle measures an increase of 5 studentscommunication skill into high degree of interpersonal communication skills, 4 students have enough interpersonal communication, and only 1 have low interpersonal communication (76%). After the second cycle of improvement also happens to 8 students into high degree of interpersonal communication skills and only one student has moderate level of interpersonal communication (86%). The results of this study showed that group counseling sociodramas technique can improve interpersonal communication skills of students.Keyword: Group Counseling, Sosiodrama Technique, Life Skill Problem

Abstract

This studyaimed to determinethe relationshipbetween internet addictionwithprocrastination of school work. Subjectswere youth of internet caféusersin the district ofMedanKota, samples were takenwith purposive sampling technique. Data collection toolused is the internet addictionscaleandthe procrastination of school work scale. Analysis of datausing the Product Moment correlation technique from Pearson. Based onanalysis ofdata, found that thehypothesis presentedin this studyreceived, that there isa positive relationship between internet addiction to procrastination of school work at youth of internet caféusersin the district ofMedanKota. This is evidenced bythe correlationcoefficientrxy = 0,770 withρ=0.000, while thecoefficientof determination(r²) of 59.3%. The result ofthe empirical meanandhypothetical mean obtained that internet addiction classified aslikely to be high (107.60>105)and procrastination of school work quitetends to be high (98.87>95).Key words: Internet addiction,procrastinationofschool work

Abstract

This study aimed to identify the factors that influence the motivation to become a teacher of the exceptional school, by looking at the contribution of the six factors were obtained from the journal of research conducted by Aaron (2006) and Agustien (2009): patience, interest in teaching, love of children, helping others, needs (salary) and the science. This research was conducted in two Exceptional Schools in Medan with research subjects totaling 47 teachers. Based on linear regression analysis, the result of six factors, only five factors that contribute or influence the motivation to become a teacher SLB patience, interest in teaching, love children, helping others and the science, while one factor did not contribute. Based on the analysis F percent note that of the six factors, like helping others become factors that most influence the motivation to become a teacher SLB it can be seen from the 47 teachers, 45 teachers expressed appropriate, the next second factor most influencing factor is patience, which can views of 47 teachers, 42 teachers expressed agree, followed by factors like children with 42 teachers stating agree. Factor of interest taught by 39 teachers expressed agree, then factors in the science with 28 teachers expressed agree, and the latter factor needs (salary) with 18 teachers expressed agree.Keyword: motivation to became a teacher, exceptional school

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the hardiness on a Single Mother. This study used qualitative research. The method of collecting data using in-depth interviews. Respondents in this research were two Single Mothers. The results showed that a respondent I became a single mother for the death and respondent II for divorce. Aspect Control which is owned by a single mother in the respondents I tried to solve the financial problems intelligently and to belief in God, the respondent II resolve everything concerning the future of herself and the children. Commitment of the respondents have in common is: trying to forget her husband and live a life of its own and think about the future of children. Challenge owned by the two respondent there are any differences, namely: the respondents I assume that the challenges of living makes it learned that he is strong while the second respondent considers the challenges of life as life lessons. Factors that developing hardiness in both the respondents, namely: support for families and children, social skills in a social environment, the process of learning to life experinces, and their strong characters.Keyword :hardiness, single mother

Abstract

This study aimed to help the children with language problems by using play therapy which are integrated in learning activities in kindergarten Karunia T.A 2014/2015. This research was a classroom action research (PTK), which consists of the second cycle, that cycle I and cycle II. The population is all kindergarten students and the sample are 46 kindergarten students who are having language development problems. The data collection technique was observation. Based on data analysis that the children with language development problem in the first cycle there are three children (50%) who had experienced the development of language with an average of 61.6 and there were three children (50%) who are not experiencing language development. Thus it can be seen that a childs ability to follow the play therapy is still relatively unfavorable within 5 children. In the second cycle as much as 5 children (83.3%) who had experienced the development of language and only 1 child (16.6%) were still not good who have not experienced the development of language, with the class average value is 84.1. Based on these results it can be concluded that the counseling play therapy techniques may improve childrens language development in kindergarten Karunia Medan Johor.Keyword: Counseling, language Development, Play Therapy
