Abstract

This study was conducted at Education Office in South Sulawesi Province with three main problems, there were: how is the pre-requisite of PUG in Education Office, how is the PUG on the policy planning and the programs, how is the PUG on the implementation programs, activity and the evaluation of the implementation. This study employed qualitative descriptive approach. Data were obtained through interview and the study on Renstra, Renja, the report on the program implementation, and LAKIP. Data analysis was conducted by categorizing the content of the policy into the neutral gender, responsive gender, bias gender, potential responsive gender, and providing reformulation proposal of responsive gender.The result reveals that gender has not succeeded as the mainstream. The pre-requisite of PUG has not been utilized optimally, seemed as an order from the “center”, Pokja PUG has not been institutionalized although its membership from various backgrounds, PUG seems exclusive in PPMK division. The separated data based on gender is a crucial obstacle of gender failure as the mainstream in the planning. Gender perspective has not been explicitly stated in planning due to lack of staff capacity planner and the system and mechanism have not been established wich can enforce the planning staff to be more responsive in working. As a consequence, the implementation of the program and activity are not responsive gender. The output and the target have not specifically showed men and women that it makes it difficult to ensure whether both have the same benefit on the programs. The gender indicator has not been integrated into the performance indicator.

Abstract

The study aimed at discovering (i) the implementation of process standard in school management at SMPN 6 in Makassar, (ii) the supporting and inhibiting factors in establishing process standard in school management at SMPN 6 in Makassar, and (iii) the implication of the implementation of process standard in school management at SMPN 6 in Makassar. The study employed qualitative approach. Data were collected through observation, interview, and documentation. The result of the study revealed that (i) the process standard was implemented by conducting well managed administration. The learning process was conducted in well planned and systematic program based on the lesson plan, (ii) the supporting factors of the implementation of process standard was equal to the inhiting factor both internally and externally. The two factors were intracted and gave influence on objective achievement of the school, and (iii) the implementation of process standard gave implication for the improvement of teacher professionalism and learning achievement of students both academically and non-academically.

Abstract

This research aimed at discovering the description of school climate at SMKN 1 Papalang in Mamuju district, factor which influence it, and the impact of the school climateThis research applied qualitative descriptive reseach conducted in SMKN 1 Papalang of Mamuju District. The sample was taken by purposive sampling technique. The data were coolected from the pricipal, teachers, students, studentsparents, head of the commentation through interviuw, observation, and documentation. The data were analyzed by conducting data reduction, data display, and conclosion drawing or verificaton.The result of the research revealed that the school climate of SMKN 1 Papalang of Mamuju Distrct viewed from the aspect of security, teaching and learning, interpersonal correlation, and institutional correlation had been conducted well. The factors which influence the school climate were enforcement of rules and regulations, sufficient teachers and staff, sufficient equipmentand material for learning; whereas, the inhibiting factors were limited funds, no guidance and counseling teacher, and teachers with no linear background of study. The impacts of the school climate were safe and comfortable school, students were disclipline, teaching process ran smoothly, kinship as wellas high competitive students and alumni

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine: (1) overview of managerial skill of principal at SMAN 1 Pangkajene in Pangkep; (2) factors that support the managerial skill of principal at SMAN 1 Pangkajene in Pangkep; (3) factors that hinder managerial skill of principal at SMAN 1 Pangkajene in Pangkep. This is a qualitative descriftive research , data source were the principal, the vice-principal, the supervised and the head of administration. Techniques of data collection were by interview, observation and documentation. Data validity was conducted throught the extension of the observation, triangulation and member checks. The result show that the principal of SMAN 1 Pangkajene in Pangkep has a good managerial competence based on four managerial function include: planning, organizing, actuating and supervision. The supporting factors of principal’s managerial competence include internal factors, namely: the principal human resources, the ability to lead/managing, educational qualification and personality of the principal’s. The external factors include support from local government, local community ant the support of the entire school community. Where as, the inhibiting factor includes the limited funding and the participation of parents in the form of funds which is lack since the free education program in schools.

Abstract

This study aims at discovering the description on the learning management at SMPN 12 Makassar including the lesson plan, implementation of learning, learning assessment, and the follow-up assessment of learning outcomes.This type of research used in this study is descriptive qualitative. The main source of data in this research field is the Deputy Principal Curriculum, Teacher, Principal and Students. Data collection techniques used were interviews, observation and documentation. The collected data was then analyzed with qualitative methods with the following steps, namely: data collection, data reduction, presenting data, verification of data and concludes the study. The conclusion of the study on the learning management at SMPN 12 Makassar are (i) the lesson plan at SMPN 12 Makassar has been conducted well, (ii) the implementation of learning has been conducted well based on the indicators of learning implementation conducted maximally, (iii) the learning assessment conducted has not been conducted maximally although half of the indicators of learning assessment has been conducted, and (iv) the follow-up of learning assessement conducted has been conducted maximally.

Abstract

Improving the learning achievement of students with visual impairment through learning the technique of polynesia is done in SLB-A yapti Makassar, data retrieval is done by using learning outcomes tests and observation sheets. The collected learning outcomes data were analyzed using quantitative analysis and observational data were analyzed by qualitative analysis. The results showed that the average score of students in cycle I was 57.5 from the ideal score of 100 increased in cycle II with an average score of 75 of the ideal score of 100. The average score increase was 17.5. In the first cycle, there are still 3 students who have not achieved mastery learning while the second cycle all students have achieved mastery learning. This shows that one of the existing indicators of success has been fulfilled, namely achieving a grade of at least 75%. From the results of this study it can be concluded that by using the technique of polynesia can improve the learning achievement of mathematics in students with visual impairments in SLB - A YAPTI Makassar.

Abstract

This study aims at discovering the description on quality control on the input phase, in this case students’ input and curikulum, the proses phase which discussed on the learning process, and the output phase of the graduates of the collage of Nobel Indonesia in Makassar. The results showed that the Quality Control at Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Ekonomi (STIE) Nobel Indonesia Makassar review of: 1. Input: (a) Students include recruitment, extracurricular activities, services, counseling, (b) the input curriculum characterized by the structure of the curriculum, curriculum coverage, relevance of curriculum, semester credit unit load, curriculum integration, and flexibility of the curriculum. 2. The process in question is the learning plan, the implementation of learning, assessment of learning outcomes, monitoring learning and teaching development. 3. Output that discusses qualifications attitudes, knowledge and skills.

Abstract

Poverty of the people in the coastal and remote islands can occur due to complex causes, among others because of: (1) a wrong paradigm or view of life that is marked by fatalism and living surrender to the conditions of his life; (2) low experience and level of education; (3) limited ownership of assets; (4) rely solely on individual efforts in living their lives; (5) dependence on retainer snares; (6) isolation due to limited facilities, infrastructure, mobility and information; and helplessness. The impact of poverty on education causes high rates of dropout. A person can become poor because of the low level of education, and vice versa, someone chooses to drop out of school because of the lack of economic level he has. Teachers have a very strategic role in helping to overcome poverty, especially in coastal and remote islands, in addition to carrying out the task of educating and teaching in schools, the teacher also acts as a servant in the community, namely as a problem solver, facilitator, innovator, and partner friend.

Abstract

Primary education is implemented through formal education as in SD (elementary school). SD YPS Singkole is a school that cares about quality improvement which focuses the effectiveness of the implementation of school culture. This is the focus of the study.This Study employed quantutative design with descriptive qualitative. The format is usually used for a case study with the main problem on the description of the effectiveness of the implementation of school culture aspects and the development of school culture strategies as well as the internal and external factors which influence the implementation of school culture. The data were analyzed by employing Miles and Huberman model.The result of the study reveal that (1) the implementation of school culture at SD YPS Singkole in Sorowako based on indicators showed various result. The implementation of the value of achievement is categorized as fair, the value of honesty is categorized as fair, the value of discipline is categorized as good, the value of hygiene is categorized as poor, family value is categorized as good, the value of togetherness is categorized as fair, and the value of appreciation is categorized as fair: (2) the development of school culture strategies which support the implementation of the value of school culture among others are the involvement of parents, sense of school, and building relation aligned with the development of the implementation of the value of achievement, building trust aligned with the development of the implementation of the value of honesty. Safety assurence aligned with the development of the implementation of the value of togetherness, positive motivation aligned with the development of the implementation of the value of appreciation, sense of school and the connection with the development of the implementation of the value discipline, buliding relation aligned with the development of the implementation of the value of hygiene, and the leadership of principal aligned with the development of the implementation of family values: (3) the internal factor which influence the implementation of school culture in term of strenght is basically from the support from the foundation, which are the facility and infrastructure, high commitment from the teacher , and strict discipline; whereas the internal factor in term of the weakness in implementing school culture is lack of understanding on school culture from the teachers; (4) the external factor which influence the school culture in terms of opportunity as well as the challenge which influence the implementation of school culture at SD YPS Singkole is dominantly from the parents and the people.

Abstract

The research objective was to determine the effect of interest and study habits of students towards mathematics learning achievement. The method used is the method of correlation analysis surveys in SMA EKSEKUTIF NUSANTARA, Makassar. Study sample as many as 28 students were drawn from a population with a sampling technique in accordance with proportion. Analysis of data using correlation and regression techniques. The results showed: (1) there positively influence students interests and learning habits simultaneously learning achievement mathematics. (2) no influence students interest in learning mathematics learning achievement. (3) no influence students study habits Biology learning achievement.
