Abstract

This research was conducted to study palatability of meatball with fresh and imported frozen beef as base material with varians level of sodium tripolyphosphates. This research used randomized block design with 6 treatments and 3 groups of time production periods.The treatments were 0,2% (A), 0,3% (B); 0,4% (C) of sodium tripolyphosphates addition  into fresh beef mixture and 0,2% (D), 0,3% (E); 0,4% (F) of sodium tripolyphosphates addition into thawed of imported beef mixture.  Data from hedonic method of organoleptic test in color, texture, aroma, hardness, elasticity and taste variable  analized by Kruskal-Wallis-non parametric method and continued by multiple comparison test when significant result  (P<0,05). The result showed that panelists prefered 0,2% (D) of sodium tripolyphosphates addition into thawed of import beef mixture and 0,2% (A), 0,3% (B); 0,4% (C) of sodium tripolyphosphates addition  into fresh beef mixture to 0,3% (E) and 0,4% (F) of sodium tripolyphosphates addition into thawed of imported  beef mixture (P<0,05)  in color, texture, hardness, elasticity and taste of meatball,  excep for aroma  was similar preferance (P>0,05) in aroma. The level  0,2%  of sodium tripolyphosphates addition into thawed of imported beef mixture for meatballs can improve the product functional properties effectively and recommended.Keywords: meatball, fresh beef, imported frozen beef, palatability, sodium tripolyphosphates

Abstract

      Baratan Village, Patrang Sub-district, Jember District has a high potential production of cassava chips by Home Industry (IRT). Solid waste of cassava (cassava husk) from cassava processing into cassava chips has not been utilized properly. Cassava husk can be used as raw material for animal feed. The purpose of this program is the empowerment of the community of Baratan IRT in the processing of cassava husk into broiler feed and to increase the value of the waste and can improve the economic of the IRT in Baratan Village. Cassava husk has a deficiency because of the antinutrient content (Cyanide Acid) and dangerous when consumed. The methods used in this program are counseling and chipping of cassava with chipping tools, counseling and training of utilitation of cassava waste, counseling and training of broiler feed formulation, pelet making, mentoring, monitoring and evaluation. The result of this program is the IRT Baratan Village Jember Regency is able to process the solid waste from processing of cassava chips into broiler feed (pelet). Guidebooks can be used by IRT well so they can treat the waste into feed independently. IRT cassava chips as a partner of this program can implement and apply the technology that has been given and strive to always continuous in the manufacture of feed and pellet product development in an effort to improve the welfare and sustainability of the program.Keywords: cassava waste, pelet feed, Baratan Village

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh bahan penyalut maltodekstrin yang digunakan pada  mikroenkapsulasi  probiotik  bakteri  asam  laktat  (BAL)  dengan  metode  spray  drying  terhadap viabilitas  sel  BAL  selama  pengeringan.  Probiotik  BAL  yang  digunakan  adalah Streptococcus thermophilus  (Kp-2),  Lactobacillus  murinus  (Ar-3),  Pediococcus  acidilactici (Kd-6).  Mikrokapsul probiotik  Lactobacillus  murinus  menunjukkan  ketahanan  terhadap temperatur  80-85°C  selama  15 detik, akan tetapi Lactobacillus murinus tidak mampu mempertahankan viabilitasnya pada detik ke-30 dan  45.  Di  sisi  lain,  Streptococcus thermophilus  dan  Pediococcus  acidilactici  menunjukkan kemampuan  menghadapi  paparan panas  selama  15,  30  dan  45  detik.  Kadar  air  semua  sampel mikrokapsul probiotik berada pada standar normal kadar air dari produk hasil spray drying (di bawah 6%),  sementara aktivitas  air  berada  pada  kisaran  0,08  hingga  0,19.  Kesimpulan  yang  diperoleh adalah viabilitas  seluruh  probiotik  menurun  seiring  bertambahnya  lama  waktu  pemanasan  yang digunakan.  Sementara  persentase  viabilitas  Streptococcus  thermophilus  (Kp-2), Pediococcus acidilactici (Kd-6), dan probiotik campuran (MIX) pada detik ke-30 dan ke-45 tidak berbeda nyata  Kata kunci: Mikroenkapsulasi, probiotik unggas, viabilitas, pemanasan, spray drying

Abstract

The research was aimed to determine the effect and optimum level of betaine suplementation in low methionine diet on nutrient digestibility of quail. This research used 340 quails aged in four weeks with a mean initial body weight 98.31± 8.67 g with CV 8.82%.  The experimental diets were formulated with 0,3% methionine. The design of the experiment used completely randomized design with four treatments, each treatment was repeated five times. The treatments given were betaine supplementation as 0 (control), 0.07; 0.14 and 0.21%. In vivo digestibility was measured by total collection method, when the quails was at the age of 13 weeks. Two quails was randomly chosen from each replication. Nutrient digestibility data were analyzed using analysis of variance and if there was the effect of treatment, then it was followed orthogonal polymonial test. The results of analysis of variance showed that the highest level of betain in feed increased the digestibility of crude protein with the regresion equation y =16.7717 + 69.7569x (R2=0.37) and optimum level of betaine supplementation on crude ash digestibility used the regression equation y = 6.7546x + 132.624 -500.806x2 (R2=0.21) was 0.13%. The conclusion of this research was that betaine supplementation in low methionine diet increased digestibility of crude protein and crude ash. Keywords: betaine, methionine, nutrient digestibility, quail

Abstract

The experiment was aimed to assess the use of the legume and synchronization index of protein and energy (SPE) in the diet of dairy cattles on branch chain volatile fatty acids (BCVFA) profile. The research was applied in In vitro technique. The research was used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD), factorially pattern (2x3), the first factor was the two species of legume (Sesbania and Leucaena) and the second factor was the three levels of the SPE index (0.4, 0.5, and 0.6), there were 6 treatments combination and replicates 4 times each. The results showed interaction between legumes with SPE index was highly significant (P<0.01) upon iso butirat, but was nonsignificant (P>0,05) on iso valerat and valerat. Legume and SPE index respectively showed nonsignificant (P>0.05) on iso valerat and valerat. Abstract

Physiological response are influenced by environmental conditions, such as climate change and the feed. Limitied of land crop and farm cause difficulties to find grass as fiber feed. This research aimed to study the effect of dried kale and bean sprouts waste for substitution the grass on the physiological response of male javanese thin thailed sheep (under one years old) and their palatability. Feed treatment were : P1 (50% concentrate+50% grass), P2 (50% concentrate+50% dried kale), and P3 (50% concentrate+50% bean sprouts waste) respectively. The parameters were palatability, rectal temperature, heartbeat and respiration frequency. Analyze method used completely randomized design with three treatments of feeding and 4 replications was used. Data processed by ANOVA and Tukey’s for further test. The experimental result showed that feed treatment were not significant (P>0.05) to rectal temperature, heartbeat and respiration frequency. The best palatability seen on P2 feed (50% consentrate + 50% mung bean sprout waste). The conclusion were bean sprout waste and dried kale can be used to substitute grass, they had a good palatability and they did not give bad effect to physiological of javanese thin tailed sheep.The conclusion of this study, bean sprout waste and dried kale has a good palatability and were not significant to physiological response of javanese thin tailed sheep so it can be used to substitute grass.Keywords: dried kale, physiological responses, javanese thin tailed sheep, bean sprout waste, palatability

Pengaruh Suplementasi Tepung Kulit Bawang Putih dan Mineral Organik pada Ransum Kambing Perah terhadap Efisiensi Energi dan Produksi Susu

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengkaji pengaruh suplementasi tepung kulit bawang putih dan mineral organik pada ransum kambing perah terhadap produksi dan efisiensi energi susu. Materi yang digunakan yaitu induk bunting kambing Jawarandu sebanyak 15 ekor pada masa laktasi ke-2 dengan bobot badan 37,70 ± 5,38 kg. Pakan yang diberikan berupa hijauan dan konsentrat dengan perbandingan 70% : 30%. Rancangan yang digunakan yaitu rancangan acak lengkap dengan tiga perlakuan dan lima ulangan. Perlakuan yang dimaksud untuk R0 yaitu pakan basal, R1  yaitu R0  + 30 ppm tepung kulit bawang putih, R2  yaitu R1 + 41,8 ppm mineral organik (Chromium, Selenium dan Zink Lysinat). Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis variansi jika berbeda nyata, dilanjutkan dengan uji beda nyata jujur (BNJ). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa suplementasi tepung kulit bawang putih sebanyak 30 ppm dan mineral organik sebanyak 41,8 ppm pada pakan basal tidak berpengaruh nyata (P>0,05) terhadap produksi dan efisiensi energi susu kambing perah. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini yaitu bahwa suplementasi tepung kulit bawang putih dan mineral organik pada ransum kambing perah laktasi ke-2, tidak menunjukkan perbedaan yang nyata terhadap produksi susu dan efisiensi energi susu. Kata kunci: Efisiensi energi susu, Mineral organik, Produksi susu, Tepung kulit bawang putih

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilaksanakan untuk mengkaji pengaruh bahan penyalut maltodekstrin yang digunakan pada mikroenkapsulasi probiotik bakteri asam laktat (BAL) dengan metode spray drying terhadap viabilitas sel BAL selama penyimpanan dan pengeringan. Probiotik BAL yang digunakan adalah Streptococcus thermophilus (Kp-2), Lactobacillus murinus (Ar-3), Pediococcus acidilactici (Kd-6). Probiotik disimpan pada temperatur ruang semalam 6 minggu dalam kondisi aerobik. Pengujian viabilitas mikrokapsul probiotik BAL dilakukan setiap minggu. Viabilitas mikrokapsul probiotik memiliki kemampuan hidup 60 hingga 80% pasca spray drying dan menunjukkan kecenderungan yang semakin menurun pada viabilitas selama penyimpanan. Kata kunci: Mikroenkapsulasi, maltodekstrin, probiotik unggas, viabilitas, spray drying

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan bungkil kedelai dan bungkil kelapa dalam ransum berbasis indeks sinkronisasi energi dan protein (E-P) terhadap sintesis protein mikroba (SPM) rumen sapi perah. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode in vitro, menggunakan rancangan anak lengkap (RAL) pola faktorial (2x3). Sebagai faktor A yaitu bungkil kedelai dan bungkil kelapa, sedangkan faktor B yaitu indeks sinkronisasi E-P (0,5 ; 0,6 dan 0,7). Dengan demikian, terdapat 6 macam perlakuan dan setiap perlakuan diulang 4 kali. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat interaksi yang nyata (P<0,05) antara penggunaan bungkil kedelai dan bungkil kelapa dengan indeks sinkronisasi E-P terhadap produksi ammonia (NH3). Kemudian, tidak terdapat interaksi antara penggunaan bungkil kedelai dan bungkil kelapa dengan indeks sinkronisasi E-P terhadap SPM, akan tetapi pengaturan indeks sinkronisasi E-P berpengaruh sangat nyata (P<0,01) terhadap SPM. Selain itu, indeks sinkronisasi E-P yang terbaik yaitu pada level atau taraf 0,7. Berdasarkan hal tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa dalam penyusunan ransum sapi perah yang didasarkan pada peningkatan SPM dapat digunakan bungkil kedelai atau bungkil kelapa (keduanya) dengan indeks sinkronisasi E-P 0,7.Kata kunci : Indeks sinkronisasi energi dan protein, ammonia, NH3, sintesis protein mikroba

Abstract

Artikel Aplikasi Biomolekuler di Dunia Perunggasan Khususnya Itik bertujuan untuk melakukan pendekatan biomolekuler melalui deteksi berdasarkan polimorfisme DNA. Peternak dapat menghasilkan bibit itik dengan genetik yang unggul  sehingga produktivitas itik akan semakin tinggi dibanding sebelumnya. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif berdasarkan referensi pustaka dari beberapa literatur yang telah dipelajari terkait  aplikasi biomolekuler di dunia perunggasan khususnya itik. Kemampuan produksi itik dipengaruhi oleh kemampuan genetik yang dimilikinya, semakin tinggi kemampuan genetik yang dimiliki semakin tinggi pula kemampuan produksi yang dihasilkan apabila didukung oleh faktor lingkungan yang optimal (sesuai dengan kebutuhan). Pendekatan biomolekuler melalui deteksi berdasarkan polimorfisme DNA memungkinkan untuk memilih itik dengan genetik unggul, karena setiap individu memiliki susunan genetik yang berbeda-beda. Metode analisis untuk mengindentifikasi keragaman genetik secara molekuler pada beberapa jenis spesies unggas dapat dilakukan dengan Randomly Amplified Polymorphic DNA (RAPD), Polymerase Chain Reaction-Restriction Fragment Length Polymorphism (PCR-RFLP), analisis sidik jari (finger printing), minisatelit (VNTR atau Variable Number Tandem Repeat), mikrosatelit (STR atau Short Tandem Repeat) dan Analisis DNA mitokondria. Kesimpulan dari artikel ini adalah biomolekuler mempermudah peternak dalam pemeliharaan unggas khususnya itik dan efisiensi biaya dalam pemeliharaan. Kata kunci: Biomolekuler, DNA, Itik
