Abstract

Abstract: Smoking prevalence in the low income family is higher than the richest. In Indonesia, amount63% from 19 million low income family are smoker. If they smoke 10 pieces of cigaretes everyday, so they spare Rp 23 billion every year for cigarette expenditure (Sujai, 2009). They still smoke although there is text health warning on the packaging of cigarette (“Cigarettes causing cancer, hypertension, heart attack, impotence, harms baby and pregnancy”). The purpose of this study is to know the effectiveness of text health warning on the cigarettes’ packaging. This study is descriptive research using kuantitatif and kualitatif method. To identify the characteristic of low income family, smoking behavior, awareness, knowledge, liking by structured questionnaire’s interviews. To know what they want about health warning on the cigarettes’ packaging by indept interview. There were 40 informan. The result showed: 1) Informan recognized cigarettes impact from the text health warning on the cigarettes’ packaging. Although they knew the cigarettes’ impact, but they can’t mention the text health warning completely and truly. 2) The text health warning can’t promote the informan’s knowledge about cigarettes substances and cigarettes impact. 3) Almost all of informan have no fear feeling while read the text health warning on the cigarettes’ packaging. It can be concluded that the text health warning on the cigarettes’ packaging do not effectively promote knowledge and preventive behavior yet. Keywords: smoking, cigarette, low income family, cigarrettes packaging

Abstract

Abstract: Sidorejo sub village District Senduro and Darung sub village District Randuagung were the targets of CLTS program in Lumajang. The community of Sidorejo sub village was able to change their defecation behavior at any place into latrine, while the community of Darung sub village had not been able to change their behavior yet. The purpose of this research was to study the process of CLTS and the differences of indicators’ applications of the community participation in both sub villages. This research was observational research by using quantitative method. The independent variables were process of CLTS, leadership and community organizing, financing and utilizing the latrine. The populations research were all families in Sidorejo and Darung. The samples of this research were 146 families which divided in both sub villages that used simple random sampling method. CLTS is a process to empower the community and to improve the community participation to doing self-help and triggering them to use latrine. The indicator of leadership and organizing in both sub villages were categorized medium. The indicator of society financing in Sidorejo sub village was categorized high (34%) while in Darung sub village was categorized as low financing (53%). The indicator of utilizing the latrine in Sidorejo was categorized high (100%), while in Darung was categorized low (67%). The conclusion of this study is the success of CLTS program is associated of the quality of triggering process by CLTS community facilitators and the level of community participation.Keywords: CLTS, community participation indicator, use latrine

Abstract

Abstract: Adolescent reproductive health problem lately become a serious issue. A lot of adoslescent have unwanted pregnancy, sexually transmitted infection, and even HIV &AIDS. These facts indicate that this issue is a serious matter. The low capacity of knowledge of unhealthy behavior risk is one of the reason of the problems. This research was a descriptive observational research. The sample is collected by using purposive sampling method on second grade students of SMP Negeri 19 Surabaya. The questionnaire was provided in this research in order to find out the role of health school programs in delivering information of adolescent reproductive knowledge to the students of SMP Negeri 19 Surabaya. The results showed that the respondents’ knowledge related to reproductive health, reproductive health resources and media support for the delivery of reproductive health information is good. Opinion majority of respondents (78%) support the UKS role to deliver reproductive health information, while the implementation of the Trias UKS was still lacking. The conclusion can be drawn that the UKS role in the delivery of reproductive health information to students of SMP Negeri 19 Surabaya can be given thoroughly and comprehensively.Keywords :adolescent reproductive health (ARH) , health school programs (UKS)

Abstract

HIV was health issue which was the number of cases increased every year. Increasing HIV transmission among housewife resulting the possibility of HIV increase cases among children. Although HIV+ children need similar parenting to normal children, however HIV+ child’s caregiver usually givedifferent parenting to HIV+ children. Parenting pattern will effect psychological development of HIV+ children. This research was conducted to describe the parenting pattern to child with HIV and AIDS. This research is descriptive with qualitative approach. Interview was conducted to interview guides and it was recorded. Seven informants consist of 5 child’s caregiver and 2 concelor of HIV and AIDS child. The results of this research show that different patterns of parenting depend on the relationship between the child and caregiver, caregiver knowledge, and caregiver attitudes toward HIV children. It can be concluded that the child’s caregiver who have good knowledge and attitude about HIV& AIDS will perform normal parenting, but caregiver who have less knowledge and attitude about HIV & AIDS will perform less effective parenting, so emotional development of children will be affected. Based on this research, the caregivers are expected to increase their knowledge on HIV & AIDS in order to treat their children normally and better, so the child will grow as normal as other children.

Abstract

Various efforts had been made by the BKKBN which aims to provide adolescents knowledge’s to delayed the age of marriage. This research is to study the different from knowledge and attitude of adolescents knowledge’s and attitude’s before and after exposure from media ads created by BKKBN. This research is a quasi-experimental, this research involved all third-grade students at SMA Islam Duduksampeyan Gresik. The results showed that there was signifi cantly different from the respondents knowledge’s (p=0.000) for the treatment group before and shortly after have given, but for the control group there have not signifi cantly different from respondents knowledge’s (p=0.342), for theattitude of the respondents either the treatment group (p=0.079) or control group (p=0.084) were not significantly different. Then, the other result showed there were signifi cantly different from respondentsknowledge’s and attitude’s both in the treatment group (p=0.000 and p=0.007), and control group (p =0,000 and p=0.021), before treatment and after two weeks of treatment have given. In this research alsolook for different from knowledge and attitude between the treatment and control group, before treatment have given there is signifi cantly different from the respondents knowledge’s (p=0.026), but there is no significantly different from the respondents attitude’s (p=0.931). There was significantly different from respondents knowledge’s (p=0.000) and respondents attitude’s (p=0.000) after treatment have givena moment. There is signifi cantly different from respondents knowledge’s (p=0.000) and respondents attitude’s (p=0.027) after two weeks of treatment have given a moment.

Abstract

Work satisfaction of nurse is needed to be asses to improve the nursing service quality, motivation and work productivity. Research was conducted to identify and analyze the behavior determinant based on the WHO´s theory related to job satisfaction of nurse in the inpatient room RSUDdr. Doris Sylvanus Palangka Raya. This research is analytical observational. Variables examined include the satisfaction of nurses, behavior determinant and the characteristics of nurses. Spearman correlation test was used. The results of research shows that 61% of nurses have an age group of 20–35 years, 82.9% nurses is women and 66.7% was graduate from D-III (AKPER / AKBID) and 75.6% have worked in the hospital during the period of <5–15 years. Nurse job satisfaction level is 71.5% (satisfi ed). Behavior determinant of thoughts and feeling nurses in 75.6% and signifi cantly associated with job satisfaction,where the correlation coeffi cient (p)=0.297 (sig.=0.001). Behavior determinant of personal references nurses in 78% and signifi cantly associated with job satisfaction, where the correlation coeffi cient(p)=0.263 (sig.=0.003. Behavior determinant of resources 52% is considered good and significantly associated with job satisfaction, where the correlation coeffi cient (p)=0.251 (sig.=0.005). Behavior determinant of culture 77,2% while considered good, but does not have any significant relationship with job satisfaction, with the correlation coeffi cient (p)=0.143 (sig.=0.115). Results of the research, it can be concluded that the dominant behavior determinant related job satisfaction is the thoughts and feeling.

Abstract

Adolescent girls diet has been a serious problem. Unhealthty diet which can make an eating disorder is most adopted by them. A lot of commentary from people about an ideal girl which is beautifuland slim be one of the reason of that problem. The purpose of this study is to identify adolescent girls diet behaviour based on WHO’s approach theory so using indepth interview. This study is descriptive with qualitative approach. The subject of this study are choosen by snowball technique. The result shown that from diet behaviour, the most method which adopted is to control intake of carbohydrate. Second things is from thought and feeling, the most infl uencer are from knowledge, beliefs, and attitude of subjects are not precise enough. The third variables is personal referens which are parents and friends be a most important person for adolescent girls. Then resources which is infl uence on diet behaviorare fi nance ability and media access like internet. The last variables is culture from the other person about diet also support diet behavior of adolescent girls. The conclusions, all the variables from WHO’sapproach theory are the reasons of doing something even there is relationship. A knowledge is got from informations based on mass media that show everything which spread on people. Attitude which ischoosen also infl uence by personal references. The suggestion for adolescent girl is giving education about an healthy diet and the information about nutrition. An education about self-effi cacy is needed byadolescent girls facing the environment.

Abstract

Washing hand with soap and flow water is the most easy and most affordable to prevent disease transmission. Washing hand with soap should accustomed since early, because they are more vulnerable to disease activity with a higher play, especially to children because they are more susceptible towards disease with activity plays higher. Therefore, the pads of this research would like to know the media puppet stage effectiveness used to provided education in personal (washing hand with soap). This experiment done to analyze effective puppet that used as media in give information about washing hand with seen increase knowledge and skill about washing hand with soap  in subject or group that given different treatment. This experiment done at elementary school Muhammadiyah 18 Mulyorejo Tengah with 1st grade class. First class is fruits that given treatment shaped lecture elucidation, while second class vegetables that is given treatment shaped elucidation with puppet. Experiment that used is quasi experimental. From the research result there were differences in knowledge and skill before and after treatment both of them. There was increasing knowledge and skill with result for knowledge and skill wilcoxon singed rank test p= 0,000 and wilcoxon mann-whitney p=0,000. Fruits class increase skill  75,9% and increase knowledge 86,2% while the class vegetables increase skill  76,7% and increase knowledge 56,6%. Based on the research result on it after puppet stage less effective. Many factors make it ineffective can be from targets or puppet stage.Keywords: washing hand, soap, puppet stage

Abstract

The number of slow learner adolescent reproduction cases is increasing. Social-support and accessibility of information were regarded the risk factor of health behavior of young reproduction. The objectives of the study are to explore relation between social-support and accessibility of information with health reproduction behavior. This was a cross sectional study with quantitative approach. The interview was conducted to 35 slow learner adolescent. Subjects were took by using total population.  The independent variables are parenting, teachers support, friends support and accessibility of information from mass media. Research result was analyzed with spearman correlation test to know relation between social-support and accessibility of information with the health reproduction behavior. This research getting result that there is relation between social-support (teachers support: p=0,002, r=0,514) with calculation of health reproduction behavior. The result indicates a consistent relation between social-support with health reproduction behavior positive relationship. The teacher’s support must be improved to overcome the health behavior of slow learner reproduction. Abstract

Prostitution area is known to be one of many causes of the growing number of HIV/AIDS patients in Surabaya. Abdi Asih foundation has done several attempts to prevent this, but so far have not been able to successfully deliver the key idea to the intended audience. This calls for a more comprehensive and accurate method to the sex workers to improve their HIV/AIDS consciousness and knowledge level. The objective of this research is to improve the existing HIV/AIDS information poster media. The improvement process is implemented based on the steps suggested by the P-Process theory. This is an observational research with cross-sectional design which uses both quantitative and qualitative methods. Quantitative approach was used to know the knowledge. Qualitative approach was applied by using FGD and in-depth interview with the commercial sex workers as the respondents. The result of this research shows that respondent’s knowledge about HIV/AIDS is considerably low. The Wilcoxon Sign Rank Test yields a probability score of 0.03 which indicates that this new poster media is indeed effective in improving the respondents’ knowledge and consciousness about HIV/AIDS issues. Based on the research result, it can be concluded that the poster media prototype has been found to be effective in improving respondents’ knowledge about the mentioned issues, due to the fact. Suggesting for future improvement, it is better to give substantial consideration in audience’s wishes and common characteristic in designing effective information poster media.Key words : poster, HIV/AIDS, commercial sex workers, P-Process theory, effective
