Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the enthusiasm of students in group guidance in schools to develop the strength of the character of simplicity (temprance) and to find out its implications for guidance and counseling. The researcher observed the character of equality to eight respondents who were given group guidance treatment then gave quantification with the instrument in the form of a Likert scale questionnaire that was calculated cumulatively. To see the difference in the strength of the character of simplicity, researchers compared the strength of character with students from the control class as many as eight people as well. The results showed that there was no difference in the character of simplicity between students in the experimental group and the control group significantly at 0.05. Researchers see fe-nomena This is due to the lack of conducive filling of pre-test instruments and post-tests, besides that research is more effective if one indicator of the strength of the character is simplicity because it is more focused. The research can be further developed with different techniques and qualitative data so that the results are more maximal. However, from the results of enthusiastic observations students took high group guidance, because students felt they had just received the guidance service and students could also conclude and take the meaning of each group guidance service provided.

Abstract

The long-term goal of this research is the implementation of the development of service guidelines to increase student learning commitment so that they are able to support the optimal development and learning process, and are ready to face various challenges in the life process in the future. The specific objective of this research is to get a real picture of the profile of the development of learning commitment of high school students in the Indihiang District of Tasikmalaya District and the effectiveness of experiential based counseling services to increase student learning commitment. This study uses a quantitative-qualitative approach and uses the quasi-experimental method with pretest-posttest design. Data collection using questionnaires revealed the achievement of student learning commitment which was analyzed by inferential statistical analysis techniques. The results of the study showed an increase of 5.28% commitment to study high school students after participating in the unit of experiential learning activities.

Abstract

Career confusion can inhibit confidence in determining the goals of future plans. Information on the characteristics of self-efficacy career decision making is needed as an effort to develop one's behavior and skills. Self-efficacy is the individual's trust in his ability to do something. The process of identifying previous journals through searches in the last 16 years (2000-2017) through electronic media, books, Google Scholar, Elsevier, and Sage. The results showed the characteristics of self-efficacy career decision making in adolescents were self-assessment, job information, goal selection, planning, and problem solving. The results of this study could be one of the references of knowledge for students, teachers, and parents in making career decisions in adolescents.

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to reveal the level of sense of school belonging in Yogyakarta City State Vocational High School students. Sense of school belonging is a feeling of being personally accepted, respected, recognized, supported, cared for, treated fairly and a feeling of happiness and safety in the school environment. This research is a quantitative research with descriptive method. Data collection techniques use the sense of school belonging scale which was adapted from The Psychological Sense of School Membership (PSSM) Scale developed by Carol Goodenow. Data analysis uses quantitative data analysis. The study subjects were 193 out of seven schools in Yogyakarta City State Vocational School. The results showed that 30.05% of students of Yogyakarta City Vocational High School had a level of sense of school belonging to a high category, 69.95% were in the moderate category and 0% in the low category. The results of this study become a preliminary study for school counselors in designing guidance and counseling programs to improve the sense of school belonging to students.

Abstract

Self identity is an important component that shows the individual's personal identity. Individuals who succeed in forming their identities will help them to take the right role in their lives, while for teenagers who do not succeed in forming their identities, they will be confused about their role in life. Many factors influence self-identity. Gender, birth order, parental marital status, and parenting affect adolescent self-identity. This article will describe the correlation between these factors and self-identity.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the maturity of religious behavior in adolescents, especially boarding junior high school students. There are three aspects that are seen from the maturity of religious behavior in adolescents, namely aspects of thoughts, feelings and actions. Based on the analysis of the relevant literature, this study developed 111 items that describe the maturity of religious behavior in adolescents. The sample of this study was 230 students of grade IX boarding school. Item validity and reliability are measured by IBM SPSS Statistics 25. The result, 1) Pearson Product Moment 2-Tailed Correlation produces 107 items declared valid and only 4 items are invalid; and 2) Cronbach's Alpha (α) reliability coefficient is 0.96 which means very high. The collected data is then analyzed using descriptive statistical analysis. Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out and evaluate the form of handling pattern of troubled students conducted by guidance and counseling teacher at pgri 4 senior high school palembang. the research method used in this research is qualitative method with descriptive explanatory level. data collected through interviews, observation and documentation. further data analyzed refers to miles and huberman analysis model with data reduction, data presentation and conclusion. the results showed that the pattern of handling palembang was dominated by disciplinary approach with the imposition of sanctions which is conducted by guidance and counseling teacher in pgri 4 senior high school palembang.

Abstract

University Partnership Program aims to improve teachers knowledge and experience in implementing multiple intelligence-based on learning services for children with special needs. Objectives are achieved by training methods, mentoring and practice of guidance services to 8 inclusive school teachers in SD Muhammadiyah 2 and Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Magelang. Stages of activity begins with teacher training in a multi-intelligence based on learning service for children with special needs to mentoring the implementation of learning guidance conducted for 3 months (January - March 2018). Through these activities, the more teachers know, the more teachers have skills in providing services based on multiple intelligences especially potentials student. Based on the results of university partnership program can be concluded this activity can improve the knowledge, understanding and skills of teachers in the implementation of learning guidance services to students especially children with special needs.

Abstract

This study is the result of research which examined the effectiveness of guidance and counseling of Islamic solution focus brief therapy in order to improve self regulation of students procrastination in STAIS Majenang. Self-regulation scale questionnaires, procrastination scales, observation and documentation are used as the data collection instruments. This research was done in research mixed methods using quasi experimental method non equivalent pre test and post test two group design. The sample of the research are 35 STAIS Majenang students which are determined by using purposive sampling technique. Samples were divided into two groups, i.e 18 students for the experimental group and 17 students for the control group. Data analysis used T-test paired sample T-test to calculate the difference of pre test and post test in experiment and control group. While independent sample T-test is used for post test of experimental group and control group. The result of data analysis showed that the level of self regulation before treatment, the experimental group was on average score 62,18 and the control group was averaged 59,18. After the treatment, the self-regulation rate of the experimental group reached an average score of 96.88, a significant increase of 34.7. Unlike the control group that was not given treatment, the mean score after the post test only reached 59.59, meaning there was no significant increase or change between post test and pre test in the control group. The level of procrastination before treatment, the experimental group was on average score 74.88, the control group was averaged 78.35. After treatment, the experimental group achieved an average score of 58.71, a significant decrease of 15.97 on average. Unlike the control group that was not given treatment, the average score was still 77.94, which means no significant change in condition between post test and pre test in the control group. Based on self regulation hypothesis test in experimental group which used Mann Whitney Wilcoxon statistic test, the result was known that Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) = 0,000 <0,05 and Z -3.623a. Thus Ho is rejected and H1 accepted, meaning there is a significant difference self-regulation score between pre test and post test in the experimental group. Similarly, in the case of procrastination, based on out put on the experimental group, it is known that Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) = 0,000 <0.05 and Z -3.622a. Thus Ho is rejected and H1 accepted, meaning there is a significant difference between procrastination score pre test and post test in the experimental group. In other words, Islamic guidance and counseling solution focus brief therapy is effective in improving self-regulation of students procrastination in STAIS Majenang.

Abstract

This innovation work is based on an idea of the importance of quality improvement in guidance and counseling services. In this case, School Counselor is required to provide optimal service in providing career information services to students. Based on the findings at school, there are still many class IX students who have not been fully established in the process of selecting secondary schools after junior high school. Some of them explained that they were still confused, lacking understanding about the difference between high school and vocational high school, lack of knowledge about self potential, up to parents, because parents were seen as more entitled to the determination process, where they were financing the school process. The making of MELANKOLIS (Media for Career Education Services for High School Students) is seen as a form of facilitation for students in making an option to continue their studies after junior high school. The results of the use of media have been able to increase students understanding of choosing secondary schools as evidenced by the acquisition of service evaluation results of 99, 56% categorized as Very Good. Where the level of satisfaction of students towards services shows that at 89, 28% of students rate Very Satisfying. In addition, MELANKOLIS has also been able to increase the enthusiasm of students in following services. These three results are an indicator of the successful implementation of MELANKOLIS in increasing students understanding in choosing secondary schools after junior high school
