EDUKASI is a peer-reviewed scientific journal that focuses on Religious Educational Research. It published by Center for Research And Development of Religious Education, Republic Indonesia Ministry of Religious Affairs, since 2003 and had been released three times a year. Now (since 2017) it governed in associated and corporated to Religious Researchers Association. And since 2009 it had been accredited by Indonesian Science Institution. Nowadays are about to prepare for becoming International Journal reputation that would be indexed at global high ranked index. As the scientific reading material publication, the EDUKASI aimed to provide readers with a better comprehensive understanding of Religious Educational Studies in Indonesia, and even around Asia countries and the world. We invited all researchers, lecturers, teachers, and whoever interested and have a manuscript of religious education to send off what you have been researched and reported to be published in EDUKASI. The articles should be original, unpublished and not under review for possible publication in any other journals. All submitted manuscripts will be blindly-reviewed by qualified academics in the field. This process may take several weeks or months.

Abstract

This article, which is the summary and moderation of research results, is a description of the pattern of religious activities, especially religious instruction models in the religious groups of students on the campus of general higher learning institutions. This article also concerns with material coverage and the selection of study methods, including the symbols of instruction as well as sources used as instructional reference. Factors relating to the instructional models are also sufficiently explored in this article.

Abstract

This article discloses the two sides of needs in eliciting information, i.e. first evaluating the continuance of skill programs at Madrasah Aliyah, and second, predicting the feasibility degree and the readiness of madrasahs and their administrators in facing the possibility of the change of status to a vocational school (MAK). This article also sheds light on the real condition of the administration of skill programs at Madrasah Aliyah in the last two _years and the feasibility degree as well as the extent of their readiness when the present MAN is converted to vocational school.

Abstract

The interest in the role of family in social life in this modern era is growing stronger. On the one hand, this is the result of the declining degree of cohesiveness and disorientation of the family due to industrialization and individualization. On the other hand, it is the effect of the increasing expectation of society toward family institution as the result of the failure of the institutions outside family circles to implant and defend some values in life. This article is trying to see how a family can play a role in building national character, viewed especially from Islamicperspectives. In a specific way, this article shows how Islamic teachings give guidance concerning matters relating to the functions of the family.

Abstract

Pesantren constitutes the oldest Islamic educational institution and functions as the center for Islamitation process and the reproduction of ulama in Indonesia. Any study on `ulama' and pesantren' will give raise to one categoritation of ulama, i.e. `ulama pesantren. This term may refer to the fact that pesantren and ulama are inseparable. Ulamas give birth to pesantrens and pesantrens give birth to ulamas. The article on educational institution As'atilyah Sengkang will throw some light on the 'ulama pesantren' categotitation. As'adiyah cannot be separated from its founder Kyai Haji Muhammad As'ad Al-Bugisiy (1907-1952).

Abstract

This article is an exploration on socio-economic changes as the result of the advancement in science and technology in the era of globakation and their impact on the reformation of educational system of the pesantren. This article also tries to elicit ideas and concepts for the development of educational models for pesantren in the future as well as concepts and steps for the revitakation of education in pesantren in the era of globalization. The article starts with brief accounts of socio-economic changes, followed by description of the problems faced by pesantren in education, and ends with bringing up ideas and thoughts relating to the changes in the educational system of the pesantren.

Abstract

Theologically speaking, women are the `khalifah' on earth, having equal positions, rights and responsibilities to men, both in the field of `ibadah' and social life. Women as housewives (mothers) in the family have significant role in building and guarding the integrity of thelam* and so do the men. In both the family and social life, men and women's roles are not more dominant than the others; both men and women share equal responsibilities. Furthermore, there is no restriction for women to work as professional workers or leaders as long as they are able to bring about benefits for themselves, the family as well as the society. This article will provide theological arguments on the fact that Islam never puts any restriction on women's activities as long as those activities are carried out in the spirit of Islamic values.
