Abstract

 This study aimed to compare the performance of a particular integral calculation using the Trapezoid and Gauss-Legendre method in five integral cases to determine the accuracy of the integral results value of both methods which are based on the relative error percentage. This study is a literature research which formulate mathematical problem that can be solved with the usual arithmetic operations or calculations which are addition, subtraction, multiplication and division to obtain numeral with the best accuracy. Trapezoidal method formula used is while the Gauss-Legendre formula used is , This study shows that the Gauss-Legendre method has better performance by giving the percentage of error which is relatively better than Trapezoid method used in the five cases. Abstract

This research is motivated by low self efficacy and motivation to study the effect on mathematic learning outcomes become less good. This study was carried out aimed to determine : (1) the correlation between self efficacy in mathematics learning outcomes (2) the correlation of learning motivation and learning outcomes mathematics (3) the correlation between self efficacy and motivation to learn mathematics results. This type of research is survey research with correlational approach using research subjects which its population amount to 225 students and a sample amount to 146 students. Research instrument research trials conducted on 46 respondents. Data collection of self efficacy and motivation to learn by using a questionnaire, and the learning outcomes conducted by documentation. The results of this research that there is a significant correlation between: (1) self efficacy in mathematics learning outcomes with value of  = 0,744 and  at the 5% significance level. Self efficacy contributed to 55,3% on learning outcomes of mathematics (2) motivation to learn in mathematics learning outcomes with value of = 0,579 and . Motivation to learn to contribute 33,6% of the mathematics learning outcomes (3) self efficacy and motivation to learn the mathematics learning outcomes with value of = 0,759 dan . Self efficacy and motivation to contribute 57,6% of the math learning outcomes. So it can be concluded that in this study the first hypothesis, the second and third receiving   and rejecting .   Keyword: self-efficacy, motivation, learning math

Abstract

Cooperative learning is the type of Teams Games Tournament (TGT) which is a learning model in which there are stages such as games which can make the students communicate mathematically, more creative, have a positive attitude towards mathematics, and appropriate in solving mathematical problems. But in fact, communication skills and problem solving that should be owned by the students as a result of the learning process of mathematics meet the minimum completeness criteria (KKM). This study aims to describe the effectiveness of Cooperative learning of TGT type at mathematics learning in terms of communication skills and problem solving in class VIII SMP N 1 Seyegan the school year 2016/2017.  This research is a quasi ekspreriment research with pre-posttest nonequivalent control group design. This study uses two groups: the experimental group and the control group. The population study includes all students of class VIII which consists of four classes. From the existing population, it is drawn randomly two classes, namely VIII A and VIII C as samples. Mathematics Learning in class VIII A (experimental group) uses TGT type Cooperative learning and mathematics learning in class VIII C (control group) uses direct instruction. The instrument of this study is testing the communication and problem solving capability. To test the effectiveness of the study, it is used the analysis of one sample t-test. Whereas the T2 test hotteling is foolowed by univariate t-test which is used to determine more effective model. The result of research indicates that: (1) Cooperative learning of TGT-type and direct instruction in mathematics is effective in terms of communication skills and problem-solving; and (2) Cooperative learning of TGT type is more effective than direct instruction type in term of communication skill in class VIII SMPN 1 Seyegan. Keywords: TGT, mathematical communication, problem solving

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe: (1) the achievement and the interest in mathematics learning of the students taught using the CTL method and that of those taught using the Open-Ended method in the material on probability, (2) the effect of students’ mathematics learning styles on their achievement of mathematics on probability material, (3) the effect of students’ mathematics learning styles on their learning interest in mathematics on probability material, (4) the effect of teaching method and  students’ mathematics learning styles on their achievement and interest in learning mathematics on the probability material. This research used a quasi-experimental research design by two experimental groups. The analysis of the data used normality and homogeneity testing, the multivariate analysis, and the post-hoc test involving the Bonferroni procedure.The results of the research are as follows: (1) In the probability material, the group of students taught by the CTL method has better achievement and mathematics learning interest than that of those who are taught using the Open-Ended learning method. (2) There is an learning style effect (auditory, visual, and kinesthetic) on their achievement of mathematics in the probability material.(3) There is an effect of learning style (auditory, visual, and kinesthetic) on their learning interest in mathematics probability material. (4) There is no effect of teaching method and students’ mathematics learning styles on their  achievement and learning interest in mathematics in the probability material. Keywords: CTL, Open-Ended, learning styles, achievement, learning interest

Abstract

This research aims to develop an Junior High School mathematics learning kit that supports character education, consisting of reasonable syllabus, lesson plan, worksheets, quizzes, and learning achievement test (THB). The research consists of five phases: (1) need analysis and objectives formulation, (2) design/product development, (3) product trial out, (4) product revision, and (5) final product evaluation. The results of the needs analysis show that learning kits that support the students mathematical competence, especially  geometry needs to be increased. While the character education is an important element in the the students personality formation, so the products develop to support character education, that consist of syllabus, lesson plan, worksheets, quizzes, and THB. The trials evaluation of the research are conducted by an expert judgment, small trials, and field trials. The subject of the research are 31 grade seven students of the First Public Junior High School of Pundong. The result of this study shows that the products is reasonable to be used. This result can be seen from the result of expert validation that the product is valid, the teacher assessment, students’ feedback, learning implementation  observation percentage  which show that the product meets with the practical criteria and the result of product implementation produce students to attain the minimum completeness criteria and have characters development which show that the product is effective. Keywords: development, learning kit, character education

Abstract

This research aims to: (1) describe the implementation of learning mathematics with Reciprocal Teaching methods that is for improving the concept of learning understanding mathematic in class VIIA SMP Negeri 2 Depok. (2) Knowing the increased understanding of student learning in class VIIA SMP Negeri 2 Depok use Reciprocal Teaching methods. This research constitutes an action in class that is according along the teacher. The data of research was collated by sheet observations and each evaluation of cycles. That is done in two cycles. The first was retrieved the average value of student learning achievement of 70.96%. The second was retrieved achievement of 90.32%. Thus this learning model can increase student learning understanding. Key word: The understanding of Mathematical Concept, Reciprocal Teaching Method.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to predict the number of traffic accident victims who died in Timor Tengah Regency with Trend Projection method and Backpropagation method, and compare the two methods based on the degree of guilt and predict the number traffic accident victims in the Timor Tengah Regency for the coming year. This research was conducted in Timor Tengah Regency where data used in this study was obtained from Police Unit in Timor Tengah Regency. The data is on the number of traffic accidents in Timor Tengah Regency from 2000 – 2013, which is obtained by a quantitative analysis with Trend Projection and Backpropagation method. The results of the data analysis predicting the number of traffic accidents victims using Trend Projection method obtained the best model which is the quadratic trend model with equation Yk = 39.786 + (3.297) X + (0.13) X2. Whereas by using back propagation method, it is obtained the optimum network that consists of 2 inputs, 3 hidden screens, and 1 output. Based on the error rates obtained, Back propagation method is better than the Trend Projection method which means that the predicting accuracy with Back propagation method is the best method to predict the number of traffic accidents victims in Timor Tengah Regency. Thus obtained predicting the numbers of traffic accident victims for the next 5 years (Years 2014-2018) respectively - are 106 person, 115 person, 115 person, 119 person and 120 person. Keywords: Trend Projection, Back propagation, Predicting.
