Abstract

This study aims to find out: 1) whether or not the leadership quality of the alumni of MMP FKIP UKSW is affected by creativity and curriculum; and 2) the determinants of the alumnis leadership level: creativity or curriculum factor. The participants of this research are those who have graduated (alumni) from MMP FKIP UKSW Salatiga, working in Temangung regency. There were as many as 35 alumni in 2014/2015 selected to join this research. The data was collected using self-rating scale consisting of 32 items that have been tested valid and reliable, then it was reduced to 3 variables. The analysis process was undertaken by using SPSS 24 assisted analysis technique. The result of this research showed that curriculum have nothing to do with the level of leadership. Meanwhile, alumni’s leadership level is significantly determined by the creativity. This finding is very important for the aspect of course quality improvement management that supposed to be conducted by professional lecturers. MMP FKIP UKSW refines its learning activities on creativity-based lectures which will bring positive influence on leadership level.

Abstract

Indonesia faces many problems in education. The main problem is raised from the low ability of the headmaster to manage the school. This is related to leadership style. This study aims to explore leadership styles in the field of education and discusses how headmasters should apply leadership styles in schools. Some appropriate leadership styles are applied by the headmaster consisting of (1) managerial leadership, (2) transformational leadership, (3) transactional leadership, (4) instructional leadership and (5) positive leadership. Therefore, the headmaster not only applies a leadership style while managing the school but must be able to combine and contextualize leadership styles based on the need to obtain school goals.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the implementation of inclusive education policy in Salatiga City. This study used a qualitative evaluative approach to the research subject of Dinas Pendidikan and inclusion schools in Salatiga. In-depth interviews, document studies, and observations were used to collect data and then analyzed using an Edwards III implementation model that looked at communication, resource, disposition, and bureaucratic structure. The results showed that the implementation of inclusive education policy in Salatiga is considered good, that is the achievement of 65%. Communication is an aspect that requires a lot of improvement, as well as the bureaucratic structure and disposition that is still not a good implementation. While the best aspect is the resources. The impact of this policy is evident from the increasing number of students in regular schools from year to year and the reduced discrimination experienced by ABK students by peers, teachers and the community.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyze the factual model of school partnership with parents through social media in school-based quality improvement management in SMA Kristen 1 Salatiga and result in the development of school partnership model with parents through social media in school-based quality improvement management in private high schools. It is Research and Development (R & D) research. Data collection techniques used interviews and documentation studies. The development phase is done through (1) Potential and Problem, (2) Data Collection, (3) Product Design, (4) Design Validation, and (5) Design Repair. The results showed that SMA Kristen 1 Salatiga had run the family education program quite well. Several activities in the family education program at the school has been implemented before the schools get funding from the government partnership program. Schools have also begun to seek the use of social media as a means of strengthening communication with parents and other stakeholders, but nevertheless in its development in the field of management has not been maximized. The researchers also found no model formulated by the school associated with this family education program because the new school programmed the partnership into a family education program within one year. The product of this research is a school partnership model with parents through social media at a private high school equipped with guides for the implementing parties.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the instructional, institutional, and behavioral dimensions of the In-House Training (IHT) program at the SD Muhammadiyah (Plus) Salatiga Academic Year 2013/2014. This is an evaluative study with Three Dimensional Cube Model. Data collection techniques used interviews, questionnaires, and document studies. Collected data then analyzed descriptively, ordinal data were analyzed using Three Box Method. Validation of data using technique and/or source triangulation. The results showed: (1) In the instructional dimension including organization, content/material, methodology, facilities, and cost included in good category, although there is little improvement in adjusting method with program objectives; (2) In the institutional dimension that includes speakers, trainees, administrator/committees, education specialists, families, and communities are included in either category, although there is still need for improvement in terms of needs analysis in terms of the needs of teachers; (3) In the behavioral dimension that is the goal of the IHT program and is divided into the cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains almost all have been achieved well, although there is one goal in the psychomotor realm that has not been achieved well because one goal is not a priority to be achieved in time of three years. Recommendations for program sustainability, programs can be continued with improvements.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the school financing planning strategy in improving the quality of schools. Strategy determination using EFE (Internal Factor Evaluation), IFE (Internal Factor Evaluation), and SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats) analysis. This research is a qualitative research focusing on determining financing planning strategy in SMP Negeri 1 Salatiga. Sources of data come from principals and school treasurers. The technique of collecting data using interviews and documentation. Data analysis included: data collection, data reduction, data display and drawing conclusion/ verification. The result of the research is the appropriate school financing strategy for SMP Negeri 1 is to implement WO strategy or to support defensive strategy that is strategy that minimmize weakness to exploit opportunity. In other words, schools use the number of human resources and limited costs to the maximum by using the funds owned and utilize the role of committees, parents, and alumni. For example, a school can scale priorities together with committee-related competitions to be followed, communicate school needs to the committee in order to improve the quality of education, and submit proposals to alumni to contest, establish school facilities and infrastructure, or salary of honorary teachers/staff.

Abstract

The main problem in this research is how the model of secondary education management in Central Java Province. Issues divided into a) what are the expectations of various parties regarding the transfer of secondary education management, b) how are the challenges of various parties related to the transfer of secondary education management, and c) which management model is most effective for managing secondary education in Central Java Province. This research is descriptive qualitative. Data collection through FGD was recorded with video and government policies related to secondary education. The number of informants is nine people. Research data is processed using qualitative research software, NVivo 11 Plus for Windows. The study was conducted over three months from October to December 2016. The results were a) some expectations: improving the quality of education, improving access and equity of education, improving teacher welfare and promoting professionalism. teacher; b) some of the challenges faced: the province will ignore the welfare of non-civil servant teachers and reduce the free education of secondary education; c) the most effective model is co-administration. It is recommended that the government immediately make government regulations on the management of secondary education. At the provincial level was directly made education policy. East Java provincial government has now chosen alternative "based region" in six regions of former residency in Central Java. This alternative needs to be tested for its effectiveness, if it is not effective then it is advisable to use co-administration.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the differences in the number of single tuition fees and non-single tuition; the proportion of resources and the allocation of funds before and after the single tuition policy; and the quality of educational services by single tuition and non-single tuition college students. The data was collected from students and leaders at the University of Riau through questionnaires, documentation, and interviews. Data were analyzed descriptively and different test. The results show that the amount of a single tuition fee is not much different from the non-single tuition fee. The proportion of funding sources from the public increased after a single tuition policy, but the proportion of allocations for operational costs decreased. Single tuition college students rated the quality of educational services lower than the non-single tuition of students with significant differences. Single tuition does not significantly affect the quality of education services.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know and describe factors influencing elementary school teachers in Biak Numfor District, and efforts made by elementary school teachers of Biak and suggestions for the development of education especially in Biak Numfor District. The method used in this research is descriptive. The research subjects were elementary school teachers in Biak Numfor District. Data obtained by distributing instrument in the form of Questionnaire. The results of a questionnaire that was distributed to 31 elementary school teachers in Biak Numfor district showed that many of the obstacles experienced by teachers. Obstacles experienced by elementary school teachers in Biak Numfor district are teachers experiencing obstacles in preparing the lesson, teachers experience barriers in determining methods and media used in learning, teachers experience barriers in determining the evaluation used in learning. Efforts by teachers to overcome these obstacles are many students who do not have a handbook then the teachers, and teachers use the media in school. Teachers hope the attention of local governments need to be improved again.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to explain ways to improve communication, especially interpersonal communication in an organization through self-efficacy, leadership and team cohesiveness. This research uses quantitative research approach. Data analysis using path analysis. Research conducted in 2015 at 3 Private Universities in Bogor. Prior to use, the research instrument was piloted against 30 respondents to gain validity and reliability. Prior to hypothesis testing, test requirement analysis is tested linearity and normality test. The research findings are that interpersonal communication in the organization is positively and significantly influenced by self-efficacy, leadership behavior, and team cohesiveness. This means that the higher the self-efficacy, leadership behavior and team cohesiveness, the higher the interpersonal communication activity in the organization.
