Abstract

In education word one of a serious problem is a high to low student learning outcomes. Good learning outcomes will be achieved when students have the self-efficacy and learning independence in overcoming learning difficulties which affect them. This research aims to find out and analyze the influence of self-efficacy and learning independence against the outcomes of the study of biology students. The research method used is ex pose facto 2x2 factorial design. The sample of this research is the grade X with number of 74 students. The instruments in this research are self-efficacy questioner, learning independence questioner and the outcomes study quesioner. Prerequisites testing conducted distributed normal data using Kolmogorov Smirnov and homogenous test using Bartlet test. Based on hypothesis testing, it was concluded that there is no influence of self-efficacy and learning independence against the outcomes of the study and there is influence between learning independence on student learning outcomes at Senior High School in Bekasi.Keywords: self-efficacy, learning independence, student learning outcomes, ex post facto

Abstract

The scholar crimes cause the goverments’ concern about it. The scholar brawl, the drugs abuse, promiscuity, and many other become the main reason of the importance of character building in the college/ university which appropriates to the governors’ mandate. The Basic concept of science is a skill course of the scholar of elementary school teacher which can be used as a media of character building through the development of teaching material. It is arranged by using the Al Qur’an, science and the character (ALSAK) approach is a concept notion of character building through the college. The ALSAK approach is a learning which involves the student actively and makes the Al Qur’an as a learning resource of science. The learning resources are conducted by presenting the Al Qur’an verses which relate to the concept of science. The packaging of the learning resource of science which relates to the Al Qur’an verses is expected can improve the spiritual and scientific attitude so it can strengthen the scholars’ character. Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyze the use of schoology e-learning as one of the supporting media towards students’ learning motivation enhancement and students’ opinion about the use of schoology e-learning. This research uses the qualitative descriptive as methods. Sampling was done with non-random sampling of 30 students from the STKIP Surya. Data were collected using a questionnaire, observation sheet, interview, and documentation which were analyzed descriptively. Data collected as much as twice to get more accurate result. The first data set is used to provide with a temporary conclusion, verification data conducted in the second data collecting. If data obtained on both have conformity, it can be made into final conclusion. The study uses blended learning model that integrates between traditional face to face instruction and e-learning.  The result of the study found that: 1) Percentage of Likert Scale overall from the first and second data collection result got the same category i.e 77.30% and 79.05% with very high category which means the students were motivated using schoology e-learning, 2) The result of observation sheet in the first and the second data collecting got the same result that most student were happy to learn using  schoology e-learning,3) The result of interview between the two were the same that means most students were motivated by learning using schoology e-learning because of its easyness, friendly look, and challenging way of doing the task. Keywords: schoology e-learning, descriptive qualitative method, blended learning, students’ learning motivation

Abstract

The development of technology-based learning today is growing rapidly, the use of which combines the computer with the network is a growing up. One of them is e-Learning. By combining the use of eLearning with Problem Based Learning model and motivation is expected to be effective in improving learning student’s outcomes of circulatory material. Learning is not merely media or model, but motivation has an effect on learning. This research was conducted to measure the effect of PBL model applied with e-Learning and motivation to student outcomes. The method of research is Quasi Experiment with Two Way Anova Design. This study was conducted at SMPK St. Paulus Jakarta in May-June 2017. The data showed normal and homogeneous values (p> 0.05) with a sample size of 30 people. Result of research using two way anova test got data that p value = 0.000, mean p <0.05 (reject H0). The conclusion is that (1) there is influence of PBL model by using e-Learning to student outcomes, (2) there is influence of motivation to student outcomes, and (3) there is interaction between PBL using e-Learning and motivation to student outcomes.Keywords: e-Learning, motivation, problem based learning, student learning out comes

Improving Creativity of the Future Physics Teachers Through General Biology Learning Based on CTL with Experimental Method

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to increase creativity of the future physicsteachersthrough General Biology learning based on CTL with experimental method. The type of research used in this study was classroom action research (CAR) through 4cycles of activity. Cycle I shown that on the achievement of creativity, the lowest indicator was in formulating question (59.21%), and the highest indicator was in formulating conclusion (76.32%) while the average of indicators’ achievement was 71,71% in which the target of 75% of performance indicator were failed to reach.Cycle II shownthat the lowest achievement indicator wasin applying the principle, that is 63,16% and the highest achievement indicator is in formulating conclusion, that is 78,95% while the average achievement of critical thinking skill of cycle II equal to 71,21%. Physics future teachers creativity were improved into 8.55% from pre-cycle I to cycle I while from cycle I to cycle II improved into 6.14%. The result of cognitive learning shown that of cycle II was obtained the mean value of cycle II which equal to 76,82. The percentage of the learners who had reached the target of learning mastery was 77.14%. The average of cognitive learning achievement of Physics future teachers was improved from pre cycle to cycle I into 10.54 while from cycle I to cycle II was improved into 3.2. The resultsshows that CTL experimental method can improve the creativity of the future physics teacher of IAIN Palangka. Keywords: CTL, creativity, experimental method

Abstract

The scientific approach is strongly suggested to be used in implementing “Curriculum of 2013” (K13) by Department of Education. This study aimed to identify whether integrated science learning was implemented in Junior High Schools in the Semarang Regency, Indonesia used a scientific approach, how it was implemented, and what problems that emerged in it. This research was conducted in 13 Junior High Schools in Semarang Regency, Central Java Province that implemented K13 during the odd semester in 2016/2017 school year by interviewing the science teachers in each school to determine how scientific approach was implemented in their schools. Based on the interview results analyzed using qualitative description methods, K13 was implemented, teachers used a scientific approach to teach science subject in their classes, and they integrated science materials in the curriculum. However, not all of the science materials were able to be integrated and taught using scientific approach because the teachers’ educational background is not from science education. Furthermore, the availability of the teachers and students books, the laboratory facilities, and funds were very limited. Many solutions such as using various learning models were done, but they were not be able to maximize the learning even though the students were active and enthusiastic in learning. Therefore, the teachers really need real supports to enhance their learning using scientific approach.Keywords: integrated science learning, scientific approach, curriculum of 2013, junior high school

Abstract

Bunyi yang dihasilkan oleh alat musik pada umumnya ditampilkan dalam bentuk gelombang (waveform) sebagai fungsi waktu. Tampilan ini menggambarkan perambatan intensitas bunyi terhadap waktu. Dari bentuk gelombang ini dapat diperoleh informasi tentang frekuensi. Bentuk gelombang dalam fungsi waktu ini ditransformasi ke dalam fungsi frekuensi melalui FFT, hasilnya berupa spektrum. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui frekuensi pada berbagai instrumen gong yang peletakannya dengan cara digantung. Perekaman bunyi gong dilakukan dengan menggunakan handphone dan hasilnya disimpan dalam file berekstensi .wav. Bunyi hasil rekaman disimpan dalam komputer, dan selanjutnya dianalisis menggunakan program pengolah audio. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa semakin besar diameter gong maka frekuensi fundamental yang dihasilkan semakin kecil. Nada harmonis yang dihasilkan berturut-turut dari kempul 2, kempul 1, kempul 6, kempul 5, kempul 3, gong suwukan, dan gong ageng adalah 12, 12, 11, 12, 5, 5, 5. Kata Kunci: frekuensi, gamelan, gong

Abstract

Kompetensi memecahkan masalah merupakan kompetensi yang paling diperlukan dalam dunia kerja, sehingga perlu upaya pengembangan kompetensi memecahkan masalah dalam pendidikan formal. Para ahli menyatakan pembelajaran fisika dengan pendekatan inkuiri mampu menumbuhkan kompetensi memecahkan masalah. Namun kebanyakan guru enggan menggunakan pendekatan inkuiri karena peralatan laboratorium yang kurang memadai dan membutuhkan waktu yang banyak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang model pembelajaran IPA fisika dengan pendekatan inkuiri yang mampu menumbuhkan kompetensi memecahkan masalah, yang mampu mengatasi kendala peralatan laboratorium yang kurang memadai dan kendala kebutuhan waktu yang banyak pada siswa SMP dan mengetahui keefektifan model tersebut. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Research and Development (R & D). Sampel Penelitian ini adalah siswa SMP Negeri 1 Pecangaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan model pembelajaran fisika yang mampu menumbuhkan kompetensi memecahkan masalah yang bisa mengatasi permasalahan keterbatasan waktu dan alat adalah model pembelajaran fisika dengan pendekatan inkuiri berbasis proyek. Pada model pembelajaran ini, sebagian dari langkah strategi pembelajaran dilakksanakan di rumah, sehingga dapat menghemat penggunaan jam pelajaran. Uji coba skala terbatas menunjukkan ada peningkatan kemampuan berpikir siswa dengan besarnya nilai <g> adalah 0.36. Hasil uji hipotesis diperoleh thitung = 6.096 dan ttabel = 2.84  yang menunjukkan thitung tidak berada pada daerah penerimaan Ho. Dengan demikian, model pembelajaran ini secara signifikan mampu menumbuhkan kompetensi memecahkan masalah pada siswa SMP dengan besarnya nilai <g> adalah 0.58. Kata Kunci: Pendekatan Inkuiri, Berbasis Proyek, Kompetensi Memecahkan Masalah

Abstract

Penelitian ini membuktikan pengiriman listrik tanpa kabel menggunakan prinsip resonant inductive coupling selain itu tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui: 1) Pengaruh besarnya tegangan input pada transmitter terhadap Vpp dan Vrms pada rangkaian receiver; 2) Pengaruh Kapasitansi kapasitor terhadap frekuensi pada rangkaian trasmiter; 3) Pengaruh besarnya resistor denganVpp dan Vrms pada rangkaian transmiter. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah menggunakan metode eksperimen, dengan menggunakan komponen-komponen elektronika yang disususun sedemikian rupa sehingga membentuk sebuah rangkaian transmiter dan receiver. Osiloskop digunakan untuk mengetahui nilai Vpp, Vrms, dan frekuensi pada rangkaian transmiter dan receiver dengan variasi tegangan input, kapasitor, dan resistor. Percobaan dilakukan sebanyak lima kali untuk variasi tegangan dan variasi resistor serta 10 kali untuk variasi kapasitor. Data dianalisis menggunakan teknik analisis regresi.Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa: 1) Ada pengaruhtegangan input pada transmitter terhadapteganganpada receiver dinyatakan dengan persamaan  y = -0,0029x3+0,0532x2-0,2341x+0,6501 dengan R² = 0,9935; 2) Ada pengaruh Kapasitansi kapasitor terhadap frekuensi pada rangkaian transmitter dengan persamaan  y = 4,0341x-0,451 dengan R² = 0,9911; 3) Ada pengaruh besarnya resistor terhadap tegangan pada rangkaian transmitter dengan persamaan regresi y = 17,396x-0,159 dengan R² = 0,9861. Kata kunci: Transmitter, receiver, Resonant Inductive Coupling.

Abstract

Materi kimia SMA dirasa sulit untuk dipahami karena memuat konsep yang dianggap bersifat teoritis, abstrak, dan tidak nyata. Akibatnya, kegiatan pembelajaran kimia di kelas kurang bermakna. Kegiatan pembelajaran kimia perlu diarahkan pada kegiatan aktif siswa dengan mengaitkan materi pembelajaran dengan situasi nyata. Artikel ini merupakan gagasan mengenai penerapan strategi pembelajaran REACT. Strategi REACT merupakan implementasi pendekatan pembelajaran kontekstual melaui tahap-tahapannya yaitu relating (mengaitkan), experiencing (mengalami), applying (menerapkan), cooperating (bekerja sama), transferring (memindahkan). Hasil kajian mendorong guru untuk merencanakan dan menerapkan kegiatan pembelajaran aktif menggunakan strategi REACT.   Kata Kunci: pembelajaran aktif, pembelajaran contextual, strategi REACT
