Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know the influence of certain teaching method in increasing the quality of the students achievement of open SLTP viewed from the kind of tests. Besides, it is directed to get the most effective teaching method which can be applied as the positive alternative in increasing the quality of the SLTP student achievement. The kind of research used is an experimental comparative research using two ways Anava. Here statistical formulas were three levels comparative from one variable namely teaching method with module; teaching method with videocassette (electronic media); and teaching method with problem solving approach, and their influence to the tied variable based on other factor whether the test is objective or essay. The result of the research shows that teaching method with electronic media is the most appropriate to increase the quality of studying biology; the second was teaching by module completed with creative problems solving, and the last was teaching method with module. Besides, it revealed that subjective test model is better than objective test. There was no interaction between certain teaching methods with the kind of the test.

Abstract

This study was evaluative in nature. The population was all the small entrepreneurs (n = 38) in the smallindustrial center of foundry in Klaten regency, who implemented the cooperative subcontracting system. To confirm the data obtained from the subcontractor entrepreneurs, the researcher collected other data from six contractor entrepreneurs, using questionnaire and interview. The data were then analyzed descriptively and presented in the form of mean score. The result of this research showed that the capacities of the production tools used by the subcontractors were very adequate, though the foundry technology was obsolete. The preparation of the subcontractors in implementing the cooperation was still less adequate, especially in finance and management. The level of subcontractors entrepreneur capabilities in realizing the cooperation was classified as high enough, and the level of constraint faced by the subcontractors in implementing the cooperative subcontracting system was high enough, especially in the area of capital formation, supplying of raw materials and marketing. The level of contractors involvement was classified as low, especially in terms of capital support, raw material contribution, and expertise support.

Abstract

The objective of this research was to find out the result of the learning process of how to paint using Constructivists theory. The classroom action research methodology was employed in this research. The sources of the data were place events and the children’s paintings. The techniques of data collection were participant observation and document analysis. The research result shows that the learning process using constructivist’s theory can increase childrens creativity, the applying of the facilities influences the learning. Result the use of multimedia increase the children creativity, the holistic system of evaluation.

Abstract

This research is intended to determine whether or not there is a correlation between body mass index and content of hemoglobin with physical fitness, either separately or simultaneously. The research method employed is a survey conducted from August 1999 to January 2000. The subjects of the research were 80 students of the Sport and Health Department of FKIP UNS. The data, the score of performance of three variables above, were collected through measurement and tests. The technique of data analysis applied here was the technique of regression and correlation. The result of analysis showed that there was a negative correlation between body mass index and physical fitness, and a positive correlation between content of hemoglobin and physical fitness, either separately or simultaneously.

Abstract

The objectives of this research are: (1) to reveal how teachers education level can affect the quality of students of SLTP in Sukoharjo regency; (2) to describe how far the school facilities can effect the students quality; (3) to detect how far external environment means can affect students quality of SLTP in Sukoharjo regency. The hypothesis made was that there is a significant correlation between teacher’s education level and quality of graduated students of SLTP in Sukoharjo regency. The researcher used descriptive analysis to support this research, and used questionnaires to collect the data. Quotasampling method is used to determine 30 SLTPs as samples and 10 teachers in every SLTP to be respondents. Based on the data analysis, F value (8.244) was greater than F table, so Ho was rejected. It means that there is a significant correlation between education and quality of graduated students of the SLTP in Sukoharjo regency with the level of significance 5 percent. Based on the data analysis results, the researcher suggests that the policy makers on education should implement continuous improvement on the quality of teaching learning process by maintaining qualified teacher with minimum bachelor degree and upgrading course.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the increasing of the students Indonesian communicative competence and the collaboration between the lecturer and teacher in establishing the students Indonesian communicative competence. This research was conducted using qualitativemethod. The sources of data were collected from informants and were determined through criterionbasedselection. The data were taken through deep interview and direct observation.  Then they were analyzed by interactivemethod and served in descriptionbased on domain analysis. This research concludes that the teachers who have positive perception can increase the students Indonesian communicative competence. The effective interactions in the Indonesian teaching in this research is multi directions and students Indonesian communicative competence was shown by grammatical competence, sociolinguistic competence, and discourse competence.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to know the difference of Senior High School students anxiety level in facing the university enrollment selection (UMPTN), viewed from academic achievement, study program background, and their sexes. The descriptive method was used in this research in the causal comparative approach. The population of this research was students of Senior High School I in Mojogedang Karanganyar, and the samples were 90 students. The members of the samples were designed in purposive random sampling. The data were collected by using questionnaires and examination documents. To analyze the data, the Chisquare technique was used. The result of analysis showed that there was a different anxiety level of student viewed from academic achievement (Xh>Xt or 4,481>3,481); but if it was viewed from study program background there was no difference (Xh<Xt or 0,216<3,841); and if it was viewed from the sexes there was a difference (Xh<Xt or 2,58<3,841).

Abstract

Education is human capital that will bring human to science and technology mastery. In the term of national development, especially the increasing of human resources, it is necessary to equalize education quality, particularly basic education in the regions that are not reached out by the education system. As an alternative of education system, SLTP Terbuka is a policy of the basic education that is held to equalize and broaden the opportunity of nine years basic education in which its existence is so strategic. The research conducted in SLTP Terbuka, Sayung, Demak regency, Central Java province, purposes to describe, analyze, and interpret implementation of SLTP Terbuka as an alternative policy of the broadening and equalizing on  basic education. The qualitative approach was used in this case study. Important findings could be concluded as follows: SLTP Terbuka had given more opportunities for the students to continue their study after they finish their studies at elementary school. In the long term, the implementation of this policy which can change the structure of education system has offered various facilities, both for the pupils and their parents.
