Abstract

The role of the vision and mission of an organization in both the fields of education, business and government is crucial in an effort to achieve success, relates that every organization must have the vision and mission of the philosophy as a guide for the present and future. Vision is a picture (insight) or a statement of what the organization wants to be realized in the present and the future. While the mission statement is implemented by considering the formulation of the assertion and desire as well as giving a clear direction.  This study aims to determine the vision and mission of understanding employee FIKOM UPDM (B) as a basis in carrying out their daily work.  The results showed that the research results, it can be described many of the employees who do not understand the meaning of the vision and mission FIKOM UPDM (B), and it showed when they carry out the work, such is not the lack of referrals or direct supervisor to a subordinate to do with vision and mission in accordance with work responsibilities; does not work in accordance with the organization and work or description of existing jobs; outside office during working hours; individual products is not clear; synergy between employees in the morning and afternoon never happened, etc.

Abstract

The momentum of presidential election as a political reality of course a lot of attention from various circles to be observed and assessed by the PR. the media agenda and the theoretical approach using content analysis methodology with a quantitative approach to the Kompas newspaper, because it basically is one of the various methods that are categorized as “Unobtructive Research”, is the possible research methods the researcher to be able to study the process of social life is not directly without causing change existing data. This study aims to gain an idea of   how the media view or highlight cases Jokowi nomination as a Presidential candidate in the 2014 Kompas Newspaper. Positivist research paradigm developing studies of media effects, in addition to the positivist paradigm also emphasizes objectivity that world phenomenon can be explained by the laws of the objective, rational, and can be tested. With the quantitative approach Agenda media measured by content analysis technique based on the category dikoding existing issues, measured by the frequency and volume issues trigger issues (Centimeter Area newspaper column), test reliability or consistency of the formula Ole R. Holsty. Here the researchers conducted a pretest with mengkoding way categorization of the test sample into the inter-code. From the data processing aspects of the audience for the results of the salience, there’s findings that the news in the newspaper Kompas that is relevant to the case’s candidacy in the 2014 presidential election results Jokowi test analysis of the aspects the audience salience (level of relevance eversion news for audiences with news content the needs of the audience) indicates that there is a significant relationship between the loading time news before and after campaign with the information needed audiences. Audience salience Relevance news content in terms of the need for public information associated with the loading time news (X ² = 11,3,1 df, p <0.05). From the data processing to result in the aspect Velence / valence (pleasant or unpleasant news for the audience), the findings indicate that the newspapers about the case Nominations Jokowi compass on the 2014 presidential election is not fun, it is seen from news reports about personal image Jokowi when served as Governor of Jakarta. Valence Serving humanity Jokowi news connected with the loading time (X ² = 18.1 df, p <0.05).

Abstract

This study of the society and culture of Betawi.  Based on the historical analysis of anthropological stretched thread of community development Betawi culture. Views on the Betawi ethnic descendants of slaves based on demographic data from the government of Batavia. The phenomenon of interpersonal communication in the context of personal communication multiethnic cultural association in the city, does not necessarily occur after Indonesian independence and became the capital city of Jakarta. This study revealed that while the growth of the city as the center of government, business and international relations, the existence of Kampung Betawi Situ Babakan become an important and strategic for the development of arts and culture as an identity Betawi Jakarta. The phenomenon of multi-ethnic association in Jakarta, especially those conducted by the Betawi people have lasted for generations of their ancestors.

Abstract

Latar belakang penelitian ini didasari oleh fenomena keberadaan kucing ras yang menjadi hewan peliharaan di beberapa kalangan bangsawan, akhirnya berkembang hingga saat ini untuk menunjukkan tingkat stratifikasi sosial masyarakat. Pembedaan dan/atau pengelompokan ini didasarkan pada adanya suatu simbol-simbol tertentu yang dianggap berharga atau bernilai (baik berharga atau bernilai secara sosial, ekonomi maupun dimensi lainnya) dalam suatu kelompok sosial (komunitas), karena terkait dengan nilai ekonomis kucing ras, (khususnya Persia). Hal inilah yang mampu menciptakan daya tarik tersendiri bagi setip individu untuk memelihara kucing ras. Sehingga banyak dari beberapa individu pecinta kucing akhirnya membentuk komunitas tersendiri untuk bersamasama mengelola dan berbagi pengetahuan tentang kucing serta  menyalurkan hobby memelihara kucing. Salah satunya adalah komunitas pecinta kucing yang bernama Karawaci Cat Lover’s (KCL). Agar dapat menjangkau public internal (pecinta kucing) dan ekternal (masyarakat umum) maka diadakan kegiatan penyelenggaraan event catshow. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui seberapa besar peranan public relations komunitas Karawaci Cat Lover’s dalam penyelenggaraan catshow dan untuk mengetahui upaya pembentukkan stratifikasi sosial ekonomi dalam komunitas Cat Lovers Karawaci Tangerang.

Abstract

Recently corruption and women amid a debate in Indonesia, since several names involved to corruption cases in Indonesia. Media also intensively reported corruption cases involving women. But unfortunately, elections raised angle was often not based on the main theme of corruption, but rather from their feminine side. In fact, the chosen diction tends to expose a side of sexuality with a description of the physical appearance. This research aims to determine how the women featured in the news on Detik.com. As one of the popular news site in Indonesia, Detik.com has a hits calculation system and page views to determine the amount of potential readers. The method used in this research is qualitative, descriptive. Using critical paradigm, and model of Sara Mills’s critical discourse analysis, focuses on two main aspects is subject-object position and readers position. Based on the results of this research, women are often raised in the news based on the stereotypes attached to her. Moreover, high ratings for coverage about women shows that our society are more interested in things that are sensational.

Abstract

Masalah penelitian ini adalah representasi perilaku masyarakat Jawa dalam film Kala. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui unsur-unsur Jawa dalam film Kala, untuk mengetahui perilaku masyarakat Jawa pada umumnya serta mengetahui bagaimana perilaku msayarakat Jawa direpresentasikan dalam film Kala. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teori interaksionisme simbolik, teori konstruksi realitas dan semiotika Roland Barthes. Tanda-tanda dalam film ini akan dikaji. Dalam film ini terdapat tanda-tanda yang mengindikasikan budaya Jawa secara implisit. Tanda-tanda ini harus dikaji lebih lanjut untuk mengetahui bagaimana Jawa digambarkan dalam film ini, terutama perilakunya. Dengan mengetahui film ini lebih rinci, dapat diketahui pesan-pesan tersembunyi yang disampaikan oleh pembuat film melalui film Kala. Penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif kualitatif yaitu penelitian yang menghasilkan data deskriptif berupa kata tertulis atau lisan dari orang-orang dan pelaku yang dapat diamati. Tekhnik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi, wawancara mendalam dan studi pustaka. Informan dalam penelitian ini adalah Joko Anwar (Sutradara), Mohammad Sobary (budayawan)dan Fadhis Abby Putra (penonton). Berdasarkan pengkajian tanda dari adegan dalam film ini ditemukan beberapa tanda yang menunjukkan unsur budaya Jawa dalam film ini. Setelah ditemukan, tanda-tanda ini dikaji lebih lanjut untuk mengetahui bagaimana perilaku masyarakat Jawa dalam film ini direpresentasikan. Unsur Jawa dalam film ini direpresentasikan dalam adegan, cerita utama, bahasa yang digunakan dan nama-nama tokoh. Perilaku masyarakat Jawa dalam film ini digambarkan pada karakter-karakter yang memiliki peran sebagai penjahat atau the bad guy.
