Abstract

Nutrition is a very important component of the body to support and maintain the body functions. Unfortunately in poor and developing countries, nutritional problems, especially, lack of nutritious food intake are still the main issues. The cause is due to lack of knowledge and concern for the importance of nutritious foods. The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that 175 million children in developing countries are malnourished by weight data by age. According to WHO, children with malnutrition risk 5-20 times greater deaths than children with good nutrition. Technological advances in IT have brought great impact to our lives. There is not a single side of our life that cannot be helped by information technology. Given the problem of malnutrition that occurs in the midst of a burgeoning world of technology, the author intends to take advantage of technology on the issue. This study aims to build an expert system to diagnose diseases caused by nutritional problems using the Certainty Factor method. The expert system has a component called an inference engine that contains the mechanism of thinking and reasoning function of the system used by an expert. This expert system will be built for use in web platforms with C# programming languages. It would be useful if an expert's expertise can be translated and modeled into a web-based system so that the system can be used anytime and anywhere and can represent expert knowledge and judgment.

Abstract

In the development of an image not only as a documentation of events. One area that requires image processing is in the field of medicine is radiology. In radiology there is a medical image required by doctors and researchers to be processed for patient analysis. One of the important problems in image processing and pattern recognition is image segmentation into homogeneous areas. Segmentation in medical images will result in a medical image with area boundaries that are important information for analysis. This research applies k-means algorithm to MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) image segmentation. The input image used is the image of MRI (brain and breast) has gone through the compression stage. This compression process is done with the aim of reducing memory usage but the critical information content of MRI image is still maintained. The image of the segmentation result is evaluated through performance test using GCE, VOI, MSE, and PSNR parameters.

Abstract

Presence system that exists in the laboratory of PTS X is still manual and inefficient because sometimes the laboratory employees tend to defer to fill out presence and absence after serving and there is no realtime monitoring of the stakeholders / officials in the PTS X institution. Proved by facts such as attendance is not clear / dirty and time entry that is not in accordance with the existing schedule thus slowing the process of recapitulation salary. That requires a new system that can solve the problem by building a presence employee application. The method used is the method of Research and Development, but in this study measures the use of R&D carried out to test products or a limited trial. This research resulted the application of mobile-based employee presence system utilizing Near Field Communication technology on the Android platform with a system that has been integrated well and provide convenience to laboratory employees in conducting presence process.

Abstract

Intense competition in the business field motivates a small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to manage customer services to the maximal. Improve of customer royalty by grouping cunstomers into some of groups and determining appropriate and effective marketing strategies for each group. Customer segmentation can be performed by data mining approach with clustering method. The main purpose of this paper is customer segmentation and measure their loyalty to a SME’s product. Using CRISP-DM method which consist of six phases, namely business understanding, data understanding, data preparatuin, modeling, evaluation and deployment. The K-Means algorithm is used for cluster formation and RapidMiner as a tool used to evaluate the result of clusters. Cluster formation is based on RFM (recency, frequency, monetary) analysis. Davies Bouldin Index (DBI) is used to find the optimal number of clusters (k). The customers are divided into 3 clusters, total of customer in first cluster is 30 customers who entered in typical customer category, the second cluster there are 8 customer whho entered in superstar customer and 89 customers in third cluster is dormant cluster category.

Abstract

Transliteration is still a challenge in helping people to read or write from one to another writing systems. Korean transliteration has been a topic of research to automate the conversion between Hangul (Korean writing system) and Latin characters. Previous works have been done in transliterating Hangul to Latin, using statistical approach (72.2% accuracy) and Extended Markov Models (54.9% accuracy). This research focus on transliterating Latin (romanised) Korean words into Hangul, as many learners of Korean began using Latin first. Selected method is modeling the probable vowel and consonant forms and problable vowel and consonant sequences using Finite State Automata to avoid training. These models are then coded into rules which applied and tested to 100 random Korean words. Initial test results only 40% success rate in transliterating due to the nature that consonants have to be labeled as initial or final of a syllable, and some consonants missed the modeled rules. Additional rules are then added to catch-up and merge these consonants into existing proper syllables, which increased the success rate to 92%. This result is analysed further and it is found that certain consonants sequence caused syllabification problem if exist in a certain position. Other additional rules was inserted and yields 99% final success rate which also is the accuracy of transliterating Korean words written in Latin into Hangul characters in compund syllables.

Abstract

Contact Center is a form of Customer Relationship Management, where customers can interact with a company through its single point of contact and serves mainly as a tool for the company to maintain its service to the customers. Contact center is generally operated by many Agents and can accepts thousands of phone calls every day, depending on the company’s scale and customer base. In order to correctly serve the customers, Agents need to understand many knowledge which the company has, and this is the main reason why Agents need to master the company’s Knowledge Management System (KMS). Inability of Agents to interact with the KMS will be a serious problem for the company. In this paper, we studied the acceptance of Halo Info, a form of KMS in one of the biggest banking contact center in Indonesia, called Halo BCA. We used modified TAM version 2, with a total of 11 variables, 31 indicators, and 12 hypotheses. The research instrument was a 31 items questionnaire. We gathered 283 respondent data, and analyzed it using PLS-SEM. The research findings are: Usage Behaviour (UB) is significantly affected by Intention to Use (IU); IU is proven to be greatly affected by Perceived Ease of Use (PEU), Perceived Usefulness (PU), and Subjective Norm (SN); PEU is significantly affected by System Self-Efficacy (SSE) and Interface Usability (IUSB); PU is significantly affected by Job Relevance (JR) and PEU, but is not significantly affected by Output Quality (OQ), Image (I), Result Demonstrability (RD), and SN.
