This research was aimed at describing as well as explaining certain types of Indonesian illocutionary acts, usages, and their impacts on family interactions. Communicative and pragmatic designs were used in the research. The results of the researchÂ Â indicateÂ Â thatÂ Â IndonesianÂ Â commissiveÂ Â illocutionaryÂ Â actsÂ Â inÂ Â family interactions Â include Â promises Â asÂ well Â asÂ bargain Â actions, Â and Â these Â actions Â can develop through various powers. They are implicated by the usage of the following principles: Â politeness, Â cooperation Â and Â values Â developing Â inÂ the Â family. Â The principles are also influenced by the socio-cultural dimensions.
