Delirium is a neuropsychiatric disorder that often occurs in geriatric patients. The main clinical manifestations are disturbance of consciousness, deficit in cognition which is acute and generally affect attention, memory and the organization and planning ability. The fluctuation of the disturbance is an important indicator of this disturbance. Treatment of patient with delirium must involve interdisciplinary approach because in clinical practice geriatric patients have a complex health problems (multipathology) and need holistic care. Treatment by a team consists of psychiatrist specialized in geriatric, geriatric medic, medic rehabilitation, and nuticient consultant will produce the best result; this has been done at Cipto Mangunkusumo National Hospital. Although some studies suggest that delirium has no significant differences in treatment if already occured, but psychosocial approach or even psychopharmacotherapy has a benefit in reducing morbidity and mortality of the disturbance. It also has an important role in maintaining the quality of life of geriatric patients. Keywords: neuropsychiatric disturbance, geriatric, psychosocial approach
