Abstract

This quasi experimental research aimed to know the influence of cooperative learning model of numbered heads together type towards student’s mathematical conceptual understanding. This research used post-test only control design. The population of this research was all students of grade 8th of SMP Plus Tri Sukses Natar in the academic year of 2013/2014. The samples of this research were  students of VIIIB and VIIIC class which were chosen by purposive sampling technique. Based on the data analysis, students mathematical conceptual understanding by NHT learning was better than conventional learning. Thus, it was concluded that the implementation of cooperative learning model of numbered heads together type affects towards student’s mathematical conceptual understanding.Penelitian eksperimen semu ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pembelajaran kooperatif tipe numbered heads together terhadap pemahaman matematis siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan post-test only control design. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII semester genap SMP Plus Tri Sukses tahun pelajaran 2013/2014. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIIIB dan VIIIC yang diambil menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Berdasarkan analisis data, pemahaman konsep matematis siswa dengan pembelajaran NHT lebih baik dari pembelajaran konvensional. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe numbered heads together berpengaruh terhadap pemahaman konsep matematis siswa.Kata kunci: konvensional, numbered heads together, pemahaman konsep matematis
