Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this research was to design student worksheet (LKM) based on model-eliciting activity in series and parallel circuit. This research is development research using Design and Development Research methods (DDR) product and tool research with three specific project phases (analysis, design, and development). In the analysis phase, a syllabus analysis and semester learning plan (RPS) were carried out, and the learning model applied. The results of the analysis phase were teachers centered and there was not a model that can build coordinating between students. In the design phase, the design of LKM based on the eliciting activity is designed. LKM was developed include three syntaxes, namely pre-reading, hands-on demonstration, a model to predict series and parallel circuits. The results obtained at the time of development resulted in an LKM based model-eliciting activity that could train one of the skills in the industrial revolution 4.0, namely coordinating with others and being feasible to be processed on the of a physics course.Abstrak: Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendesain lembar kerja mahasiswa berbasis model-eliciting activity pada materi rangkaian hambatan seri dan paralel. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan dengan menggunakan metode design and development research (DDR) penelitian produk dan alat dengan tiga fase spesifik (analisis, desain, dan pengembangan). Pada tahap analisis dilakukan analisis silabus dan rencana pembelajaran semester (RPS), dan observasi terhadap model pembelajaran yang diterapkan. Hasil pada tahap analisis adalah perkuliahan masih berpusat pada dosen dan belum digunakan model pembelajaran yang dapat membangun kerja sama antar mahasiswa. Pada tahapan desain dilakukan rancangan LKM berbasis model-eliciting activity. LKM dikembangkan  meliputi tiga sintaks yaitu  pre-reading, hands on demonstration, a model to predict series and parallel circuit. Hasil yang diperoleh pada tahap pengembangan adalah dihasilkan LKM berbasis model-eliciting activity yang dapat membangun salah satu skill pada revolusi industry 4.0 yaitu coordinating with other dan layak untuk digunakan pada perkuliahan fisika dasar.

Abstract

Inquisitiveness is one of indicators of the critical thinking disposition which is curiosity to gain knowledge. The aims of this research were to examine the construct validity of inquisitiveness indicators on critical thinking disposition test in biology. The critical thinking disposition test consisted of 22 multiple choice questions that have been validated by experts and the items were presented through cases relating to biological content. This research involved 526 students of biology education from University of Muhammadiyah Bengkulu and the State University of Bengkulu in the grade of study (year 1, year 2, year 3, and year 4). Based on the confirmation by confirmatory factor analysis, this research found that the critical thinking disposition test for inquisitiveness indicators had the suitable construct validity for 10 items. This results were supported with the acceptable values of convergent validity, they were the standardized factor loading more than 0.5, composite reliability 0.57 and average variance extract 0.93. from those results of this research, it can concluded that this instrument has a high validity and reliability to measure inquisitiveness of critical thinking disposition in biology.

Abstract

A study about development of problem solving skills in physics learning was conducted to investigate how prospective teachers were able to integrate this ability into physics instruction.  This article discusses the responses of prospective teachers to the development of problem solving skills through physics learning. Data were collected by using questionnaires and interviews. To strengthen data obtained through questionnaires, data were analyzed descriptively. The results of the study show that prospective physics teachers who have participated in Field Experience Program 2 (PPL 2) or who are currently participating in PPL 1, in general, agree that problem solving skills can be developed through subject matter learning, especially in physics learning. However, there are some prospective physics teachers who gave anomalous responses to several statements in the questionnaire, for example there are students who do not approve the statement that reads “Facilitating and analyzing problems for problem solving is done by drawing or sketching”. Based on these findings, it is necessary to provide a good understanding of the steps that should be taught in developing problem solving skills, such as giving example or modelling. Furthermore, prospective physics teachers need to be assessed their ability to teach the development of problem solving skills which was integrated with/in physics learning.

Abstract

Artikel ini bertujuan mengembangkan instrumen pedagogical content knowledge (PCK) calon guru fisika dalam konteks pengembangan keterampilan komunikasi saintifik melalui pembelajaran fisika. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Design and Development Research (DDR) dengan tahapan perencanaan, produksi dan evaluasi. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini berjumlah dua puluh satu mahasiswa calon guru fisika di salah satu LPTK di Sumatera Selatan dan tujuh dosen pada Program Studi Pendidikan Fisika. Instrumen yang dikembangkan berbentuk task (matriks PCK) dan rubrik penilaian matriks PCK dalam konteks pengembangan keterampilan komunikasi saintifik. Kelayakan rubrik diuji dari segi validitas, reliabilitas (konsistensi) dan praktibilitas. Berdasarkan uji kelayakan yang dilakukan, rubrik yang dikembangkan memenuhi syarat validitias yang baik dimana diperoleh indeks CVR sebesar 1. Rubrik juga memenuhi syarat  reliabilitas yang memadai berdasarkan uji statistik Intraclass Correlation Coefficients (ICC) dan indeks Kendall’s Coefficient Concordance W. Indeks ICC mapun indeks Kendall W diperoleh pada rentang sedang dan tinggi. Partisipan menyatakan rubrik yang dikembangkan bermanfaat, mudah digunakan meskipun membutuhkan alokasi waktu yang lebih banyak dalam menggunkan rubrik. Dengan demikian instrumen yang dikembangkan layak digunakan untuk menilai PCK calon guru fisika dalam konteks pengembangan keterampilan problem solving siswa.
