Abstract

The activities of one million hectares of peatland project in Central Kalimantan have changed the swamp forest to the rice fields and disturb fish community in this area. The purposes of the current study were to determine fish diversity, abundance, distribution, species status, potency, and fish culture aspect. Survey method was conducted at six stations. Throughout the study, 39 fish species belonging to 16 families were collected and Cyprinidae was the dominant family with 13 species. The range number of species among the stations were 8 to 16 species; the highest number of species found in St. 6, whereas the lowest in St. 3. Osteochilus spilurus was the most abundant species with the mean number of 21 individuals per station; while Rasbora cephalotaenia, Pristolepis fasciata, and Belontia hasseltii have the widest distribution in study area (83.33%). According to the fish potency, edible fish were dominant among the fishes (46.15%); while based on species status, two endemic species and one new record species were collected. AbstrakKegiatan proyek lahan gambut sejuta hektar di Kalimantan Tengah telah mengubah hutan rawa gambut menjadi persawahan sehingga mengganggu komunitas ikan di lokasi tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengungkap keragaman jenis ikan, kelimpahan, distribusi, status jenis, potensi, dan aspek budidayanya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survei di enam stasiun pengambilan contoh. Ditemukan sebanyak 39 jenis ikan dari 16 famili. Cyprinidae merupakan famili yang paling dominan dengan 13 jenis. Jumlah jenis ikan pada setiap stasiun berkisar antara 8-16 jenis; St.1, St.2, dan St.6 memiliki jumlah jenis ikan tertinggi masing-masing sebanyak 16 jenis; sedangkan yang paling rendah ditemukan pada St.3 dengan jumlah 8 jenis. Jenis ikan yang paling melimpah adalah Osteochilus spilurus sebesar 21 ind. st-1, dan jenis yang tersebar luas adalah Rasbora cephalotaenia, Pristolepis fasciata, dan Belontia hasseltii masing-masing sebesar 83,33%. Berdasarkan potensi ikan, ikan yang terkoleksi umumnya adalah ikan konsumsi (46,15%); sementara ditinjau dari status jenis, ada dua jenis ikan endemik dan satu jenis sebagai catatan baru yang terkoleksi.

Abstract

This study was conducted in Joloi river (Barito sub-watershed) in province of Central Kalimantan. The aims of study are to know fish diversity, abundance, local distribution, species status, and its potency. The results were recorded 26 species from 15 genus, the range of abundance between 1-29,83; local distribution between 0,69-9,66%, 5 endemic species, 1 new record, most have potency as fish consume. The tambra fish require to be studied furthermore.

Abstract

Kota Bangun is production center of fisheries in East Kalimantan. This area has waters, i.e. Mahakam River, lakes of Semayang, Melintang and Jempang. Study of freshwater fishes in Semayang and Melintang lakes was done during September and October 1995 (dry season). The aims of study were to determine fish diversity, structure, composition, potency, abundance, distribution and habitat condition. The result recorded 15 species. Barbodes collingwoodi have dominant of abundance and distribution; and Cyprinidae was dominant family. Both the Semayang and Melintang lakes have high of similarity index and evenness index. The diversity index in Melintang was higher than Semayang.

Abstract

Damming river causes fragmentation of the river and changes in hydrologic regime, thus contributing to influence fish. We investigated barb and aimed to examine its reproductive aspects between the zone above and below the Panglima Besar Soedirman Reservoir. Samples were collected from October 2012 to March 2013. Gill nets, cast-net, and electrofishing were used to capture the fish. Samples were analysed to find out the estimate gonad maturity, gonado-somatic index, fecundity, and egg diameter. The first maturity of male gonad size (158 mm in length body) in zone above is smaller than the reservoir (158 mm) and zone below (187 mm). The female has 238 mm of the first maturity of gonad size on the reservoir site, bigger than the zone above (168 mm) and zone below (161 mm). The spawning peak of barb occurs in October based on the gonad maturity stage data and gonado-somatic index. The fecundity of the barb is 2,76025,290 eggs. The fish is total spawner. The reservoir influenced the barb reproduction. AbstrakPembangunan bendungan akan memisahkan sungai dan mengubah rejim hidrologis, yang selanjutnya akan memenga-ruhi kehidupan ikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengkaji aspek reproduksi ikan brek pada bagian atas dan bagian bawah Sungai Serayu yang dipisahkan oleh Waduk Panglima Besar Soedirman. Pengambilan ikan contoh dilakukan dari bulan Oktober 2012 hingga Maret 2013. Ikan contoh ditangkap dengan menggunakan jaring insang, jala, dan elektrofishing. Sebagai perbandingan, contoh ikan juga dikoleksi di daerah waduk. Analisis dilakukan terhadap tingkat kematangan gonad, indeks kematangan gonad, fekunditas, dan diameter telur. Ukuran pertama matang gonad ikan brek jantan pada zona bawah (153 mm) lebih kecil jika dibandingkan dengan zona waduk (158 mm) dan zona atas (187 mm). Ikan betina pada zona waduk memiliki nilai lebih besar (238 mm) jika dibandingkan dengan zona atas (168 mm) dan zona bawah waduk (161 mm). Berdasarkan nilai tingkat kematangan gonad dan indeks kematangan gonad puncak pemijahan ikan brek terjadi pada bulan Oktober. Fekunditas ikan brek berkisar 2.760-25.290 butir telur. Ikan brek memiliki tipe pemi-jahan serempak. Pembangunan waduk berpengaruh terhadap reproduksi ikan brek.

Abstract

The study of fish biodiversity of Bogani Nani Wartabone National Park North Sulawesi was conducted In May 2002, and location is Kabela Mount areas. The aims of study are to know fishes diversity, abundance, local distribution, potency and related aspects. The results were recorded 25 species belonging to 21 genus and 14 families, Gobiidae is dominant family with 9 species. The range of abundance is 1 - 33.75 ind./St.; Barbodes gonionotus is most abundant (33,75 ind./St.) and Sicyopterus longifilis is widest distributed, ecological factor and related aspects will be discussion. AbstrakPenelitian mengenai ikan di perairan kawasan Taman Nasional Bogani Nani Wartabone telah dilakukan dengan mengambil lokasi di sekitar Gunung Kabela. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui keanekaragaman jenis ikan, kelimpahan, distribusi, potensi dan aspek terkait lainnya. Hasil penelitian tercatat 25 jenis dari 21 marga dan 14 suku. Gobiidae merupakan suku yang paling dominan dengan 9 jenis. Kelimpahan jenis bervariasi antara 1 sampai 33,75 ind./st.; Barbodes gonionotus merupakan jenis yang paling melimpah (33,75 ind/st), dan Sicyopterus longifilis merupakan jenis yang tersebar paling luas, faktor ekologi dan aspek terkait lainnya akan dibahas dalam makalah.

Abstract

Gunung Leuser National Park lays areas North Sumatera and Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam Provinces. The study on fish fauna in this area was done especially at Bukit Lawang waters. The aims of the study were to describe fish diversity, status and its potency. There is 32 fish species were found that belongs to 26 genera and 15 families. Cyprinidae is dominant family: with 10 species. The potency is 11 consumed fish and 11 ornamental fish, and 9 species for both ornament and consumption.
