Abstract

Macaranga is a large genus in Euphorbiaceae, locally known as "Mahang-mahangan", and consisting about 300 species. Distribution of Macaranga is widespread from Africa and Madagascar in the west to the tropical regions of Asia including Indonesia. Based on previous research of the M. pruinosa, secondary metabolites that have been reported are flavonoid, and stilbenoid derivatives from Borneo. M. pruinosa that grow in South Sumatra produce poilanoat acid (diterpene). Therefore, this research is done to investigate phytochemical constituent of leaves of M. pruinosa from Bangka Belitung Islands. Isolation is done by maceration in acetone, separation and purification using vacuum liquid chromatography and radial chromatography. Structure determination were elucidated by 1H-NMR,13C-NMR, 2D NMR. Two compounds are identified as flavanon derivatives. They are nymphaeol B, and 6-farnesil-3',4',5,7-tetrahidroksiflavanon. These compounds are substituted with terphenyl group, known as geranyl (C10), and farnesyl (C15). Nymphaeol B (1) and compound of 6-farnesil-3', 4', 5,7-tetrahidroksiflavanon (2) have been found in other species of Macaranga. In conclusion, we here acquired two phenolic derivatives substituted by terphenyl groups from acetone extracts of leaves of M. pruinosa from Bangka Belitung. They are nymphaeol B, and 6-farnesil-3',4',5,7-tetrahidroksiflavanon. The result showed that M.pruinosa can produce different secondary metabolites depend on where they grow.

Abstract

Halal Products merupakan salah satu divisi pada kerjasama Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand Growth Triangle (IMT-GT). Keberadaan divisi tersebut dalam rangka memenuhi tuntutan konsumen akan tersedianya produk yang memenuhi standar halal. Pemerintah Bangka Belitung mendukung program halal products dengan dikeluarkannya Peraturan Daerah No.16 Tahun 2016 tentang Penyelenggaraan Jaminan Pangan Aman dan Halal. Desa Balunijuk berada dalam wilayah pemerintahan Kecamatan Merawang, Kabupaten Bangka. Beberapa lembaga pendidikan tingkat perguruan tinggi terdapat di Desa Balunijuk, sehingga masyarakat sekitar banyak membuka warung makanan dan minuman. Pemilik usaha makanan dan minuman di Desa Balunijuk rata-rata berpendidikan rendah ≤ SMA. Hal tersebut berdampak pada lemahnya pengelolaan manajemen yang dilakukan pada usaha yang dikelola, kurangnya informasi mengenai produk yang memenuhi standar bersih dan halal, serta kurangnya informasi mengenai prosedur pengajuan sertifikasi Laik Hyegene Sanitasi (HS) dan halal LPPOM MUI. Oleh karena itu, tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah mempersiapkan sumber daya manusia dalam mengelola manajemen keuangan dan organisasi pada usaha yang dikelola, dan meningkatkan pengetahuan pemilik usaha mengenai standar dan prosedur pengajuan sertifikasi halal LPPOM MUI dan bersih (Laik Hyegene Sanitasi). Metode yang digunakan untuk mendukung kegiatan ini meliputi sosialisasi kepada pemilik usaha warung makanan dan minumam mengenai tata kelola manajemen, kriteria produk yang memenuhi standar bersih dan halal LPPOM MUI, dan prosedur pengajuan sertifikasi HS dan halal LPPOM MUI. Hasil dari kegiatan ini adalah Kegiatan sosialisasi dapat diterima dengan baik oleh peserta dan antusiasme peserta sangat tinggi hal ini tercermin dengan adanya keinginan dari aparat Desa Balunijuk dan peserta untuk mewujudkan Desa Balunijuk sebagai Kampung Halal. Melalui kegiatan sosialisasi ini peserta mendapatkan tambahan pengetahuan mengenai pengelolaan manajemen keuangan dan organisasi pada usaha mikro, prosedur untuk memproduksi produk yang memenuhi standar bersih dan halal, serta prosedur pengajuan sertifikasi HS dan Halal LPPOM MUI

Abstract

Stenochlaena palustris locally known as pucuk iding-iding for the people of Bangka Belitung. Stenochlaena palustris is used as traditional medicine for the treatment of ulcers, skin diseases, and blood boosters. In this research we have studied the secondary metabolite and antibacterial property of Stenochlaena palustris. The dried powder of Stenochlaena palustris were macerated with ethanol, and the antibacterial activity was determined using paper disc method against Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, and Bacillus subtilis. The phytochemical screening indicated the presence of flavonoids, alkaloids, saponins, and phenol hidrokuinon on ethanolic Stenochlaena palustris extract. The ethanolic Stenochlaena palustris extract inhibited the growth of E. coli and B. Subtilis at concentration 50 mg/mL with diameter clear zone 5,28 mm and 6,00 mm this inhibition was classified as moderat. inhibition of S. aureus at concentration 50 mg/mL with diameter clear zone 4.38 mg/mL was classified as weak.

Abstract

Neutralizing free radicals can use both synthetic and natural antioxidant compounds. Although synthetic antioxidant compounds are more active, but lately the use of synthetic antioxidants is being reduced because they are reported to have carcinogenic side effects. Natural antioxidant compounds found in plants are phenolic groups such as flavonoids, tannins, xanthones, and anthraquinones. This compound is widely found in the genus Cratoxylum where one of the species is pucuk idat (Cratoxylum glaucum). Pucuk idat are often used by people of Bangka as a flavoring dish and are believed to be traditional medicine to facilitate breastfeeding, tighten skin, treat fever, cough, and diarrhea. The increasing of antioxidants needs and lots efficacy of pucuk idat, hence this study aims to determine the antioxidant activity of ethyl acetate extract Cratoxylum glaucum. The antioxidant test in this study used the DPPH (Diphenylpicrylhydrazyl) method and vitamin C as a positive control. The results of this study indicate that the extract of ethyl acetate Cratoxylum glaucum has strong antioxidant activity with value IC50 32,213 μg / mL. Phytochemical content itself includes hydroquinone phenols (tannins), flavonoids, and steroids. This shows that ethyl acetate extract Cratoxylum glaucum can be used as natural antioxidant.
