Abstract

Abstract: Fear and anxiety in pregnant woman is actually a normal thing but if it cannot be overcame seriously, it will be affect and give great effect to mother and fetus physical and psychic. Objective to know the effect of GIM relaxation exercise in prenatal class toward the anxiety level of pregnant women in the first labor experience. Methods a quasi-experiment group, pre and post test with control group design. Sample of the study are pregnant women of primigravid in the three three-month periods which were taken by purposive sampling. The total samples are 34,17 in the intervention group and 17 in the control group. The measurement of anxiety variables is performed before and after the intervention process by using anxiety questionnaires of Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HRSA). Data of the study is analyzed by using the Mann-Whitney test, Chi-quare, Independent Samples Test and Paired Samples Test. Results there were significant differences of anxiety scores, before and after treatment, in the intervention group (p = 0.001) and in the control group (p = 0.016). It is mean that GIM relaxation exercises in the prenatal class are effective in reducing maternal anxiety in their labor experience. The decrease of average anxiety scores in the intervention group was 8.2 (± 7.53) whereas in the control group was 2.3 (± 3.50), the average difference of anxiety scores between the two groups was significantly different (p-value = 0.003). It is mean that there are some effects of GIM relaxation exercise to the degree of maternal anxiety in the labor experience. Conclusion GIM relaxation exercise can be used as a model or an intervention alternative to reduce anxiety of pregnant women in dealing with labor experience

Abstract

Abstract : Post partum blues is phenomenon which occurs at the first week of postpartum, the peak of symptoms occurs on third to seventh day of postpartum with duration several hours to several days. Postpartum blues are categorized as mild mental disorders thus it often ignored, undiagnosed, and finaly untreated, this situation will create uncomfortable feelings for women who suffer from it, thus the impact gets worse and continue to postpartum depression. Postpartum blues can be detected by EPDS screening. One of the techniques to prevent the occurance of postpartum blues is endorphin massage which is a technique of touch and light massage. The research objective was to find out the effect of endorphin massage on the improvement of exclusive breastfeeding and the decrease of EPDS on mothers who detected postpartum blues. The research was pre experimental with an approach of non randomized control group pre-post test or non equivalen control group design. The sample was determined by purposive sampling. The research was conducted at community health center around Mataram for 5 months (June-October) in 2016. The total sample was 20 mothers with postpartum blues who were treated, and 20 mothers were in the control group. Mothers who detected postpartum blues would be examined their exclusive breastfeeding production by assesse the indicator from infant’s factors used observational questionnaire before and after conducting treatment. The treatment was endorphin massage that given as many as 5 times by researceher since the third day to seventh day after labor. The second assessment of breastfeeding production was done immediately after the fourth treatment to determine the increasing of breastfeeding production after given endorphin massage. The collected data was analyzed by using statistical analysis with SPSS. The findings was there was a significance influence of endorphin massage on the improvement of breastfeeding (p=0.000) and the decrease of EPDS score (p=0.000). The conclusion is endorphine massage can be alternative theraphy which is effective in increasing breastfeeding production and postpartum management. The results of this study concluded, endorphin massage can be used as an effective alternative therapy in increasing milk production and postpartum blues management.

Abstract

Abstract : The study aimed to determine the correlation among knowledge and attitude with the behavior of pregnant women in dental and oral health care during pregnancy. The research was analytic observational and in terms of time used crossectional approach. The population in this study were pregnant women at Narmada Community Health Center whereas the sample obtained by 34 people who came to check Antenatal Care (ANC) in June 2015 taken by accidental sampling technique. Data collection of knowledge, attitude and behavior variables used questionnaire and Statistical analysis was performed by using Chi Square test. The research finding indicated that from 34 respondents, 17 pregnant women (50%) had lack knowledge level about oral and dental health care during pregnancy. The attitude of pregnant women in dental and oral care during pregnancy was 73.5% (poor attitudes), and in terms of respondents’ behaviour was the same like respondents’ attitude by 73.5% (poor attitude). Therefore, it can be concluded that there was a significant correlation between knowledge with pregnant women behavior in dental and oral health care (P value = 0.013) and there was significant correlation between attitude with respondents behaviour in oral and dental care during pregnancy (P value = 0.004). Suggestion: It is expected for Health Care Institutions and health workers need to do an effort of sustainable counselling to communities, especially pregnant women about risk factors that can cause dental caries which can affect the health of both fetus and mother, increasing promotive efforts, for instance the improvement and maintenance of health and preventive efforts for communnities and pregnant women in order to have a good knowledge and attitude in maintaining oral an dental health care during pregnancy can be preserved and further enhanced, hence the sense of responsibility in terms of a behavior in the community or pregnant women concerning dental and oral health increases in line with knowledge improvement and developing attitudes.

Abstract

Abstract : the students’ high or low achievement which is obtained by someone in learning is influenced by several factors, where the factors are connected each other from internal and external factors. According to the researcher, on second grade and fourth semesters where the students have adapted with teaching materials and academic system in the class or practice field. Therefore, the research objective was to know the factors that influence student’s learning achievements on fourth semester at Diploma III of Midwifery study Program,  Mataram Health Polytechnic. This research was quantitative research and the method utilized was descriptive method. The population was 208 students at Diploma III of Midwifery Study Program in academic year 2014/2015 and the sample was purposive sampling technique based on inclusion and exclusion criterias that was the fourth semester student as many as 91 people. Data analysis in the study was descriptive statistical technique and analysis method was multiple linear regression analysis. The research finding was Fcount> Ftable (40.170> 3.96) with significant level 0.000 <0.05 which meant interest and learning motivation, the independence in learning, family environment, college environment, and academic counseling influenced the student’s learning achievement simultaneously on fourth semesters at Diploma III of Midwifery Study Program. The most dominant factor affected student’s achievement was the independence of learning with a significance value of 0.001. The determination result (R Square) of interest and motivation in learning, the independence of learning, family environment, college environment, and academic counseling had an effect 78.5% on learning achievement while the remaining 21.5% was influenced by other factors which were not investigated in the study. By providing opportunities for students to improve their motivation and their independence in learning through an ideal college environment and learning methods which more varieties and interesting thus the students are expected to develop their cognitive abilities hence thier learning achievement can improve properly.
