Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kemampuan siswa dalam mengajukan masalah mathematical problem posing. Analisis mathematical problem posing ini diperoleh dari tes instrument kemampuan mathematical problem posing (MPP) siswa yang diberikan kepada siswa Sekolah Menengah Atas. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif-deskriptif. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 34 siswa kelas XII IPA 2 SMAN 1 Batujajar. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa kesulitan siswa dalam mengerjakan tes kemampuan mathematical problem posing menurut indikator (1) menyusun pertanyaan berkenaan materi (2) menyatakan suatu masalah kedalam bentuk lain yang memiliki makna sama berkenaan dengan materi (3) mengajukan pertanyaan dari serangkaian informasi matematis semi terstuktur (4) merinci soal mengenai materi kedalam bagiannya. Pada penelitian ini disimpulkan bahwa  kemampuan mathematical problem posing dengan indikator menyatakan suatu masalah kedalam bentuk lain yang memiliki makna sama tergolong kedalam kategori paling rendah karena siswa hanya fokus terhadap penyelesaian saja tidak mengajukan pertanyaan atau masalah.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the increase in mathematical dispositions of students using the open ended approach. The method used in this study is a qualitative method and this type of research is classroom action research. The population of this study was all students of class X IT Development Vocational School while the sample was class X RPL B. Data were collected based on observations, notes in the field, instruments in the form of non-disposition mathematical questionnaire scale tests. Questionnaires given contain indicators of students' mathematical dispositions, namely (1) confidence (2) can express ideas (3) check back on work results (4) persistent and diligent when working on questions (5) enthusiasm and serious learning mathematics (6) expect metacognition. The results of this study indicate that the use of an open-ended approach in mathematics learning can improve the mathematical disposition of class X RPL B students without development.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the achievement of problem solving abilities of junior high school students using contextual and teaching leaning learning. The study population included all seventh grade students of SMP in West Bandung Regency. From the population that was taken randomly, namely class VII I amounted to 44 students using a leaning contextual and teaching approach and class VII J amounted to 44 students with classes using conventional learning. The data collection used is a test question in the form of a test of problem solving ability totaling five questions with indicators (1) understanding the problem (2) planning completion (3) completion according to plan (4) checking again. To test the effectiveness of learning by using a leaning contextual and teaching approach and conventional tests used inality tests. To compare the average achievement of contextual learning and leaning teaching and conventional learning the data were analyzed using the two sample t-test. The results of this study indicate that the overall achievement of problem-solving skills is seen that there are differences using contextual learning and leaning teaching rather than conventional  learning.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe the achievement of critical thinking ability of mathematics students in the junior high school using open ended learning. Population of this research is all of students 1st grade inn SMP Negeri 3 Soreang consists of 10 classes. From those population was taken two classes, first VII I class with 28 students used an open ended approach learning and VII J with 29 students used a conventional learning. The instrument is used to collecting data are test question critical thinking test with five indicator(1) Check the truth of arguments, acknowledgment and processes of solution (2) Drawing the question with the reason (3) Identifying relevant and irrelevant data on a mathematics problem (4) identifying assumptions (5) Answer/finish the problem mathematics with the reason. To the test achievement of the learning with used open ended approach learning and conventional learning used normality test. To compare the of open ended learning and conventional learning, analyzed used two achievement sample t-test. The result of this research shows that a whole spectrum of critical thinking abilities there is a difference between using open ended approach learning and conventional learning.
