Abstract

The result of the analysis of the studyshows the lack of educational condition related to Information Technology (IT) especially for orphanage children. Community service activities aim to provide computer training as a form of character development in the field of education. The subjects of community service activities are the children at the Mujahidin Orphanage in Anjir Serapat Village, Kapuas Timur Sub-District, Kapuas District, with 11 members. Training activities are supported by lecture methods, frequently asked questions and direct practice of using computer applications with the help of training modules provided to the participants as a tool in practice. The results showed that computer training can give knowledge and understanding for orphaned children in computer skills in the mastery of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Powerpoint and can foster the values of educational characters in themselves such as curiosity, creative, hard work, and communicative.

Abstract

This study aims to: (1) describe the learning activities of grade 4 students of SDN 4 Panarung at the time of science teaching using Scramble-Visual media, (2) to know the learning outcomes of science students of grade IV SDN 4 Panarung by using the learning model Scramble-Visual media. The method and type of research used in this research is Classroom Action Research (PTK). The results showed that: (1) Students' learning activities in good category became better in science lesson using visual media assisted media scramble model in fourth grade of SDN 4 Panarung in academic year 2017/2018. Learners play an active role, motivated, cooperate with each other to improve the concentration and speed of thinking during the learning process in cycle I. The results of observers of teacher activity on the learning process conducted by observers I and observer II during the process of learning science (natural) the teacher activity is 3.61 with very good criteria and the average activity of learners is 3.55 with very good criteria. (2) There is an improvement of science learning outcomes of students of class IV in SDN 4 Panarung academic year 2017/2018 after using the model of learning scramble with visual media assisted. This shows the results of learning through the average score of the class on the initial test is 43 and the percentage of learning mastery learners classically 9.52% with the criteria not achieved. In the first cycle, the average score of the class is 70 and the percentage of students' learning completeness classically is 100%, from the predetermined criteria that is KKM is 65 and the criteria completeness 85% classically achieved category.

Abstract

The University of Muhammadiyah Palangkaraya routinely conducts the cadre program to its employees held every month of Ramadan called Baitul Arqam. The problems faced in this institution are not all employees understand about Al-Islam and Kemuhammadiyahan which are implemented in daily life and worship. Baitul Arqam program is one of the solutions run by the institution to answer the problem. As a program that has been running for more than 3 (three) years, it is necessary to evaluate. This evaluation aims to identify the effectiveness of Baitul Arqam Program for Employees at The University of Muhammadiyah Palangkaraya. This study uses CIPP evaluation model. Stufflebeams CIPP evaluation model focuses on four aspects: context, input, process, and product. Data collection by using interviews, observation, and documentation. Study subjects that are used as data sources of information are Rector, Vice Rector I, Vice Rector II, Head of LPPKK, Presenters, and Participants / employees at The University of Muhammadiyah Palangkaraya with a sample of 80 people. Evaluation results show: 1) Analysis of needs and goals and objectives of the program on the component context is in very good category. ; 2) Planning strategies covering materials, human resources, facilities and infrastructure, funding, and learning methods in the inputs component of BBTHA program at The University of Muhammadiyah Palangkaraya are included in good category; 3) In the process components implemented in the program Baitul Arqam For Employees included in good category; 4) In the product components produced Baitul Arqam program For Employees included in good category.

Abstract

Innovative learning in addition to varied models, strategies and methods, it is also necessary to approach. The lack of understanding of the basic concepts of science underpins researchers to create learning media for the identification of biodiversity and the subsurface layer in the form of underground layers. Lack of information on previous research regarding research at UM Palangkaraya Integrated Campus on Jl. Anggrek-Mahir Mahar made researchers try to link the environmental approach of UM Integrated Campus area Learning with the final achievement in the form of science media learning objects. This research method began with an initial theoretical study of science learning, followed by a field survey. Observations in the field will examine an area of ​​1 ha identified as having higher biodiversity than others. After setting the plot point, the acquisition is carried out with 2 (two) stages, namely the identification of biodiversity with the sampling of flora and fauna that are at the plot point. The next stage is the acquisition of underground layer mapping using the Self Potential method with porous copper pot and CuSO4 solution. After the acquisition, continued data analysis of the two stages. Biodiversity in the form of flora and fauna types and layer contour maps are poured into learning object media. Hope in the future, researchers can continue mapping the surface and subsurface of the Palangkaraya UM Integrated Campus in an area of ​​20 ha.

Abstract

Purun mats as a pearl of local wisdom in Central Kalimantan must continue to be developed. The lack of people who produce purun mats as an essential part of carrying out the training of purun weaving mats needs to be held. The group of mothers who usually deliver their children/grandchildren who go to school is the focus of this community service activity. The Universitas Muhammadiyah Palangkaraya through the Institute for Research and Community Service (LP2M) and students carrying out the Community Service Program (KKN) gave an important role in increasing the knowledge and manufacture of purun matting products. This activity aims to provide skills, improve knowledge and produce woven mats of purun in the target community groups. From community service activities, it is recommended that it be carried out sustainably in the same community groups in the location with various forms of training. This is done so that more skills are mastered and bring benefits both economically and non-economically.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan mendapatkan data dalam penerapan pendidikan karakter terhadap pelajaran IPA pada peserta didik kelas V. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di MIS Hidayatul Insan, Kota Palangka Raya. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif yang pada umumnya menggunakan teknik observasi untuk memperkuat data, wawancara untuk mengadakan komunikasi dengan para informan atau objek penelitian, dan studi dokumenter (dokumentasi) untuk mengumpulkan data yang bersumber dari arsip yang berada di dalam sekolah maupun yang berada di luar sekolah. Atas dasar konsep itu maka ketiga teknik pengumpulan data di atas digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Hasil penelitian: Kepala Sekolah dan Para Guru di MIS Hidayatul Insan Palangka Raya sangat tertarik untuk menerapkan pendidikan karakter dimana sekolah menyediakan sarana dan prasarana berupa silabus, RPP, dan buku pelajaran peserta didik sehingga dalam proses pembelajarannya dapat memudahkan guru dan sejak diterapkannya pendidikan karakter sudah dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar atau prestasi peserta didik. Dari hasil penelitian di atas dapat diketahui bahwa kondisi dari peserta didik juga menentukan dalam penerapan pendidikan karakter dan pembelajaran.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mendeskripsikan aktivitas peserta didik dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Think Pair Share (TPS) (2) mengetahui peningkatan hasil belajar matematika pada peserta didik kelas III SDN 6 Selat Hilir setelah menerapkan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Think Pair Share (TPS). Metode yang digunakan oleh peneliti adalah menggunakan rancangan penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) yang berusaha memecahkan atau menjawab permasalahan yang dihadapi pada situasi sekarang. Dengan jumlah subyek penelitian 16 orang peserta didik. Teknik analisis data didasarkan pada hasil siklus dari tiap proses pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa: (1) aktivitas peserta didik dengan diterapkannya model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Think Pair Share (TPS) lebih aktif dan mengalami peningkatan di setiap siklus. Pada siklus I skor rata – rata yang diperoleh peserta didik 2,6 dengan kriteria cukup baik, siklus II skor rata - rata yang diperoleh peserta didik 3,8 dengan kriteria baik, (2) ada peningkatan hasil belajar Matematika melalui penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Think Pair Share (TPS) yang menunjukan dari hasil belajar pada siklus I diperoleh rata-rata 64,68 dan ketuntasan secara klasikalnya yaitu 62,5% dan siklus II diperoleh rata-rata 79,68 dan ketuntasan secara klasikal yaitu 93,75%.

Abstract

This study uses a quasi-experimental design that aims to measure students' questioning skills through the application of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model with Debate method, which is specifically the purpose of the research as follows: 1) describe the skills of inquiring, and 2) describe the implementation of learning. The population in this study is the third-semester students who take Basic Basic Science courses in the odd semester of academic year 2017/2018. The sample of this research is the students of State Administration study program which amounted to 35 people as control class using PBL model, and PGSD study program which amounted to 38 people as a class of actor using PBL model with the method of debate. Sample determination is determined purposively. Question skill data will be analyzed descriptively after being tabulated with criteria of excellent, good, medium, low, very low. The results showed that students' questioning skills with the PBL model using the debate method experienced a higher number of emerging than the control class. Details of the results are from 10 criteria of questions, the dominant emerging is criterion 3 is the question that arises logically from the observations made with the number 25%, criterion 6 is the question of analyzing the observations with the number 25%, and criterion 8 is the question leads to reasonable predictions with a 50%.

Abstract

Muhammadiyah University of Palangkaraya is conducting certain members recruitment program for its employers on every Ramadhan, which is called Baitul Arqam. Issue found in this institution is that not all employers comprehend what is Al Islam and the Muhammadiyah-ism to be implemented in everyday life and worship. This Baitul Arqam program is one of implemented solution as the answer. As the program has been conducted for more than 3 (three) years, evaluation is necessary. This evaluation aims to identify Employers Baitul Arqam Program in Muhammadiyah University of Palangkaraya effectivity. This study applies CIPP evaluation model. CIPP evaluation model created by Stufflebeam focuses on four aspects, ie.: context, input, process, and product. Data sampling is performed through interviews, observations, and documentation. Study subjects as human information resources are University Chancellor, 1st Vice Chancellor, 2nd Vice Chancellor, Islamic Muhammadiyah-ism Development Institution (LPPKK) Director, Trainers, and Trainees/ employers in Muhammadiyah University of Palangkaraya, by taking samples of 80 individuals. Evaluation categorizations are divided into five ratings: Very Good, Good, Fair, Bad, and Very Bad. Evaluation result shows that: 1) Program requirements as well as its purposes and targets analysis regarding context component is categorized as very good.; 2) Planning strategy which includes material, human resources, means and infrastructure, fund, and learning method regarding inputs component in the BBTHA program in Muhammadiyah University of Palangkaraya is categorized as good; 3) In term of process component executed on the Employers Baitul Arqam program is categorized as good; 4) In term of product as the result of Employers Baitul Arqam program is categorized as good. The conclusion is, this Program can be proceed forward followed by some improvements.
