Abstract

The purpose of this study is to conduct a discussion on facilities and amenities of luxury tourism. It is a qualitative study exploring the opinions of travelers on luxury tourism. The study participants consist of 48 respondents who are members of 7 different Facebook travel groups. Data collection was carried out by posting a topic of discussion on luxury travels to the Facebook groups. The results indicate that the conventional way of understanding luxury tourism is highlighted by top class facilities and amenities. These include 5 star and above standard of accommodation, chartered flight, private jet and yacht, butler and limousine service, and spectacular structures. However, contemporarily, luxurious travel is defined more broadly, it does not always connote, e.g. marble bath tub with gold plated tap, it could mean anything comfortable or ease. Luxurious facilities and amenities in tourism are defined differently by different market segments either first, middle or lower class. Thus, there is always a luxurious element for any travel regardless of its class, e.g. a private toilet in the Himalaya is considered as a luxury; there is a luxury for shoestring travelers. It is expected that the analysis could widen the perspective and enrich the discussion on luxury tourism.

Abstract

Bali beyond Travel Fair (BBTF) is an annual national tourism agenda as a business-to-business event for local travel industry players to sell travel packages to foreign buyers. As one of the sellers in the annual event, Bagus Discovery Management Company (BDMC) that manage Nusa Dua Bali Tours & Travel, Puri Bagus Hotel Group, and Bagus Agro had participated actively in BBTF by opening a booth stand in Nusa Dua Hall of Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center as the event venue from June 27 to June 30. This study investigated the role of BDMC in BBTF through the writer’s direct practices when was involved in handling the event by conducting surveys in the fifth edition of BBTF. Additionally, interviews were conducted to the staff and top management of the company about the winning strategy for attracting buyers in such a potential marketing event as well as to buyers by asking their perception about the event. The data that had been classified then analyzed using descriptive qualitative based on inductive methodological paradigm by setting up the discussion from specifically principles to general before drawing a conclusion. The study reveals that most of the sellers who visited Bagus Discovery Booth Stand felt satisfied towards the service received and appreciated highly its products like Puri Bagus Group Property which is considered to possess a distinctive uniqueness as what certainly every guest is looking for

Abstract

Keberhasilan pelaksanaan pembelajaran sangat tergantung pada media pembelajaran yang digunakan. Pembelajaran dianggap sebagai proses komunikasi dari pemberi pesan kepada penerima pesan melalui media komunikasi. Terdapat berbagai jenis media pembelajaran baik yang berbentuk fisik maupun non-fisik. Abacus Global Distribution System merupakan salah satu perangkat lunak (software) yang biasa digunakan oleh biro perjalanan wisata dalam melakukan reservasi tiket penerbangan. Penggunaan Abacus Global Distribution System sebagai media pembelajaran di Politeknik Negeri Bali khususnya pada Program studi Usaha Perjalanan Wisata Jurusan Pariwisata dapat memberikan manfaat dan kontribusi nyata terhadap efektivitas dan efisiensi pembelajaran mata kuliah Tarif dan Dokumen Pasasi 3 yang diajarkan pada semester IV.

Abstract

The development of tourism was so fast at the last decade, but it was lacked attention for the environment, culture and the welfare of the society, so that the alternative tourism accurred as a new concept in the development of tourism.The concept was quite different from the concept of the conventional tourism. This new concept was very wellknown as a modern tourism that put the natural and the cultural conventional as the priority and to increase the economy of local society or the local people, and finally this concept is known as the term ”Ecotourism”. The result of the seminar at the National Ecotorism in Bali that was held on August 25 until August 26, 2006 produced 9 principles of the ecotourism which could give the recomendations in relation to the Sustainable Tourism. The evaluation result of the principles and criteria of ecotourism at the natural tourist object Ijen Creater in Taman Sari Village, Banyuwangi in some cases it had the similarities with the principles and criteria of the formulation of the seminar and the course of ecotourism in 2006, which was used as the reference to measure the standard of the ecoturism which was legalized nationally that refered to the Green Globe 21 agreed and trusted internationally.

Abstract

Garuda Indonesia Travel Fair 2015 merupakan ajang promosi bersama antara Garuda Indonesia  dengan beberapa travel agent dan Bank Central Asia (BCA). GATF 2015  yang mengambil tema “Fly with Style” ini diadakan untuk memfasilitasi masyarakat untuk mendapatkan informasi daerah tujuan wisata terbaik di domestik dan internasional serta memfasilitasi para traveller mendapatkan harga tiket dan paket wisata yang menarik  dengan harga terjangkau. Selain itu travel fair ini dimaksudkan juga untuk mendukung program pemerintah dalam pengembangan pariwisata nasional.  Penelitian ini didukung oleh teori pemasaran dan  bauran pemasaran bidang  jasa,  travel agent dan bank sebagai mitra  Garuda Indonesia. Dengan hipotesis ’Ada pengaruh promosi  terhadap  transaksi penjualan tiket selama  GATF  2015”. Data kuantitatif bersumber dari data primer  yang diperoleh dari Garuda Indonesia. Dengan menggunakan analisis korelasi, analisis determinasi, analisis  regresi  dan  analisis t-test dan  dengan menggunakan SPSS 17.0 for Windows,   hasil  korelasi 0,762 berarti bahwa ada hubungan yang kuat antara promosi dengan  transaksi penjualan tiket selama GATF 2015.  Promosi memberikan kontribusi terhadap peningkatan transaksi penjualan tiket sebesar 59,4 %, sedangkan sisanya 40,6 % dipengaruhi oleh faktor  lain yang tidak diteliti dalam penelitian ini. Hasil t-test  menunjukkan bahwa ada pengaruh positif antara  promosi  dengan transaksi penjualan tiket selama GATF 2015

Abstract

Education on Diploma III Travel & Tourism Study Program is aimed at generating power business associate professionals in the travel and tourism field. With the enactment of the President of the Republic of Indonesia Regulation No. 8 of 2012 on the Indonesia Qualifications Framework (KKNI) qualifications level of Indonesian human resources, the Education Studies Program Diploma of Business Travel at the level of 5 is in a position as a supervisor, it is necessary to support the level of competence 5 to support the necessary competence to analyze the competence of graduates by conducting research using the alumni of the last 2 years working in the field of ticketing as a sample. With the snowball method obtained 11 alumni and 3 supervisors ticketing to be interviewed in depth. Results achieved that competency is a skill that any 'key to operate the computer and use the internet and be able to operate online ticket reservation system using a program like Abacus reservation. Other skills should also be held as to understand the ticketing provisions in general, understand the common terms used in the operational flight by IATA, the basis for calculating the price of tickets, look for special fare and the condition (rule) of each special prices as well as to understand the geography of international flight. In addition to the core competencies to become competent resources necessary attributes required soft skills such as initiative, ethics / integrity of critical thinking, willingness to learn, commitment, motivation, enthusiastic, reliable, and creative verbal communication.
