ALIH KODE DAN CAMPUR KODE ANTARA PENJUAL DAN PEMBELI (ANALISIS PEMBELAJARAN BERBAHASA MELALUI STUDI SOSIOLINGUISTIK)

Abstract

Proses komunikasi dan interaksi sosial menimbulkan kecenderuangan seorang penuturmemanfaatkan potensi variasi bahasa. Salah satu variasi bahasa itu berupa alih kode dan campur kode untuk menjag kebersamaan dalam komunitasnya. Alih kode dan campur kode adalah pergantian pemakaian bahasa atau ragam bahasa tertentu ke bahasa lain.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan wujud alih kode dan wujud campur kode tertentu yang ditemukan dalam kegiatan jual beli di pasar serta faktor penentu yang mempengaruhi peristiwa wujud alih kode dan campur kode. Desain penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif, yang berlokasi di pasar Songgolangit Kabupaten Ponorogo.Data dalam penelitian ini berwujud pemakaian bahasa oleh penjual dan pembeli di pasar Songgolangit pada saat kegiatan transaksi jual-beli.Untuk itu, wujud datanya berupa data lisan. Data lisan diperolehdari observasi pada kegiatan jual-beli. Adapun wawancara mendalam dengan informan dilakukan setelah kegiatan transaksi berlangsung. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik simak libat cakap, teknik rekam, teknik catat, dan wawancara mendalam.Simpulan bahwa wujud alih kode yang muncul dalam kegiatan transaksi jual beli adalah wujud alih bahasa dari bahasa Jawa ke dalam bahasa Indonesia. Sementara itu, wujud campur kode yang muncul adalah berupa campur kode dari bahasa Jawa dan bahasa Indonesia. Pemakaian bahasa Jawa nampak dominan dalam peristiwa alih kode dan campur kode. Faktor penentu yang menonjol mempengaruhi peristiwa campur kode dan alih kode adalah adanya kebiasaan penutur, mitra tutur, kehadiran penutur ketiga, topik dan situasi pembicaraan tertentu serta kemampuan pemakaian bahasa yang dilatar belakangi oleh tingkat pendidikan baik penjual maupun pembeli.

THE IMPLEMENTATION OF PICTURE SERIES TO IMPROVE STUDENTS SPEAKING ABILITY AT THE SECOND GRADE OF SMP MUHAMMADIYAH 3 JETIS PONOROGO IN ACADEMIK YEAR 2016/2017

Abstract

This study was  porpused to know how picture series method can improve students’ speaking skill ability at the second grade of SMP Muhammadiyah 3 Jetis Ponorogo in academic year 2016/2017. This study used classroom action research and implemented picture series as the media in teaching speaking. This technique applied to the students in second grade of SMP Muhammadiyah 3 Jetis Ponorogo in acedemic year 2016/2017 that consist of 18 students. This research conducted on February  22nd  2017- June  15th  2017. The steps of the strategy began from the students observed some pictures that showed by the teacher, devided the class into groups, then, each groups got picture to describe, the last the students presented the picture orally one by one. After the researcher conducted the research, the result of the test showed that the mean of students’ score  in the first cycle was 64.88 and the mean of students score in test II was 78. The result of questionnaire of the first cycle was 85% and the second cycle was 87%. Furthermore, the result of observation checklist in second cycle was 85%  showed that the students active in speaking activity in classroom. The data that was obtained in each cycle explained that the students’ score in  speaking were increase. Finally, The researcher gives sugestion to the teacher that picture series considered as interesting media, so it can as an alternative media to teach speaking skill and the researcher hopes this research result can use as the  refference for the next researcher.

THE CORRELATION BETWEEN STUDENT ANXIETY AND STUDENT SPEAKING SKILL AT ENGLISH DEPARTMENT STUDENTS OF MUHAMMADIYAH UNIVERSITY OF PONOROGO

Abstract

Anxiety is one of the individual characteristics of the people. Anxiety is described as an uncontrollable state that can make the language learning situation problematic and stressful. Then, English speaking skill is very important for people interaction where people almost speak everywhere and every day through English. Speaking is one way to communicate ideas and thought a feeling and expression orally. The researcher is curious about its connection. That is why the researcher would like to find the corellation between student’s anxiety and student’s speaking skill especially for students of English education Department of Muhammadiyah University of Ponorogo. The subject of this research is the students of English Education Departmen of Muhammadiyah University of Ponorogo from semester II until VI with number of 52 Students. The researcher took all of the students as the sample of this research because the population is less than 100 people. The research was started on 5th June, 2017 until 19th June, 2017. The research used two instruments in collecting data, they were; speaking anxiety questionnaire and student achievement. Besides that, the researcher used the quantitative technique to analyze the data. Based on the result of this research, the score showed that there is significant correlation between variable X as the student anxiety and variable Y as the student speaking skill. It means that if the anxiety level of the student is high, the speaking of the students also low. Where the student feel worry, nervous, self-doubt, and unconfident when the student try to speaking with English in front of their friends, partner or in front of class. While, if the anxiety level of the studenr is low, the speaking of the student is high or good. Where the student when try to speak with English, they show the optimistic aptitude, good confident and feel enjoyful. Finally, the researcher gives suggestion that the students who want to increase their speaking skill, need to hold down their anxiety feelings with always practice and practice their speaking. Last, the researcher hopes that the result of this study will be useful for the next researcher.
