Abstract

Abstract: This research is a class action research that aims to improve the learning process and increase learning result of mathematics in grade VII4 SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Pekanbaru by applying the contextual approuch. The subject of this research were the students in the class VII4 SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Pekanbaru that consist of 14 boys and 11 girls at the first semester of academic year 2017/2018. Implementation of the learning process before action to be held, there is a problem of learning that is still focused on the teacher so that students can not find the learning concept and construct their knowledge by themselves. To solve this problem requires a learning approuch where students can actively discover learning concepts so that they can construct their knowledge. The instruments of data collection in this research were observation sheets and students mathematic tests. The observation sheets were analyzed in desciptive narative, while the students’ mathematic tests were analyzed in statistic desciptive. The descriptive showed an improvement of learning process prior to the action on the first and second cycles. The percentage of students who achieve minimum mastery before the action is 28%, at first cycles is 48% and at second cycles is 72%. The result of the research showed that implementation of contextual approuch can improve the learning process and increased the student’s achievement of learning mathematic in grade VII4 SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Pekanbaru in the first semester academic years 2017/2018.Keywords : Student’s Math Achievement, Contextual approuch, Clasroom Action Research.

Abstract

Abstract: This research is based on mathematics learning achievement on Circle topic of students VIII.2 of Junior High School 8 Pekanbaru which shows that 28 of 40 students still have scores which stand under KKM that has been settled by the school that is 78. This research aims to improve learning process and students’ mathematics learning achievement by applying Discovery Learning (DL) model. This research is a classroom action research with two cycles. The research instruments used are mathematical learning instruments and data collecting instruments. The mathematical learning instruments are Syllabus, Lesson Plans, and Activity Sheets. The data collecting instruments are Observation Sheets and Students Mathematic Tests. Analysis techniques that used are descriptive narrative on qualitative data and descriptive statistics on quantitative data. Subject of this research are students of VIII.2 Junior High School 8 Pekanbaru in second semester of academic year 2017/2018, which consist of 16 males and 24 females with heterogeneous abilities. Based on the analysis of students and teacher activities after implementation of the DL model, it can be concluded that there is an improvement of learning process. On knowledge competence, in Cycle I with percentage 37,5% and 42,5% in Cycle II. On skill competence, the number of students who can reach KKM in Cycle I with percentage 62,5% and 67,5% in Cycle II. Based on the result, it can be concluded that the implementation of DL model can improve the learning process and the students’ mathematics learning outcomes at class VIII.2 of Junior High School 8 Pekanbaru.Key Words : Mathematics Learning Achievement, Discovery Learning Model, Classroom Action Research

Abstract

Abstract: This research aims to improve the learning process and improve learning outcomes mathematics of the fourth-c grade students of SDN 30 Duri Barat Kecamatan Mandau by implementing cooperative learning type TSTS. The subjects were students of class fourth-c grade whom have heterogeneous academic ability. This research is a class act with two cycles. Each cycle has three times and one UH in every end cycle and has four stages, the stages are planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The results of the research show the observation sheet activities of teacher and students have done after the action. The increasing  number of students who achieve at UH KKM in the end of every cycle compared to the number of students who achieve a score a KKM on basic score. This results of this study indicate that the application of cooperatif learning type TSTS can improve the process learning and improve the learning outcomes of the fourth-c grade students of SDN 30 Duri Barat Kecamatan Mandau in the odd semester academic year 2013/2014. Key words : Learning process, Mathematic learning outcomes, Cooperative learning, TSTS, Classroom action research.

Abstract

Abstract: This research to improve the learning process and the student’s mathematical understanding skill by Discovery Learning (DL) model. The type of this research is Classroom Action Research with two cycles. The subjects of this research were students of class VII2 SMPN 25 Pekanbaru. This study was conducted in the second semester of academic year 2017/2018. The research instruments used are mathematical learning instruments (Syllabus, Lesson Plans, and Student Worksheet) and instruments for collecting data (Observation Sheets and Mathematical-Understanding Tests). The observation sheets were used to find out the data of students and teacher activity during learning process which would analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively, and mathematical understanding test were used to collect the student’s mathematical understanding skill outcomes which would analyzed quantitatively. Based on the analysis of the observation sheets showed that implementation of learning process on cycle II had happened improvement from implementation on cycle I. Result of the test indicates that the student’s learning achievement for the first is 48.03 improved in cycle I to 64.21 and improved to 81.37 in cycle II. The improvement of student’s learning achievement founded for each indicator of mathematical understanding skill: redefine the concept, provide examples and not examples the concept, and applying concepts to solve the problem. Based on the result above, it can be concluded that the implementation of Discovery Learning model approach can improve the learning process and the students’ mathematical understanding skill outcomes at class VII2 SMPN 25 Pekanbaru.Key Words: mathematical understanding skill, discovery learning, classroom action research

Abstract

Abstract: This research aims to improve learning process and the student’s mathematics learning outcomes through implementation of Problem Based Learning (PBL) Model. This type of research is Classroom Action Research with two cycle. The research was conducted in class VII6 SMP Negeri 3 Tambang in the odd semester of the academic year 2018/2019. The subject of this research consist of 29 students. The research instrument consists of learning materials used include Syllabus, Lesson Plan and Student Activity Sheets and instruments for collecting data are observation sheets and test of mathematics learning outcomes. Data analysis techniques in this study are descriptive narrative analysis and descriptive statistics analysis. From the analysis of observation sheets, it can be seen that there is improvement of learning process. The percentage and frequency of students who achieved minimum completeness criteria is increased from the basic score with percentage 34,48% (10 students) to cycle I with percentage 51,72% (15 students) and 79,31% (23 students) in cycle II. This research concludes that the implementation of PBL model improved the learning process and the student’s mathematics learning outcomes at class VII6 SMP Negeri 3 Tambang in the odd semester of the academic year 2018/2019.Key Words: Problem Based Learning model, Mathematics Learning Outcomes

Abstract

Abstract : This research is classroom action research which aims to improve the learning process and the result of learning mathematics by applying Discovery Learning model. The subject of this research were the students in the class VIIB of SMPIT Al-Fityah Pekanbaru that consist of 25 girls at the second semester of academic year 2017/2018. Instruments on this reserach constisted of syllabus, lesson plans and worksheets, and instruments of data collection which is observation sheets and the test result sheets. The function of observation sheet is to obtain data from the learning process, while the function of results sheet of the mathematics learning tests is to obtain the results of the study. The descriptive of observation sheets and students’ mathematic tests showed an improvement of learning process prior to the action on the first and second cycles and improve the students’ achievement of learning mathematic. On the knowledge competence, from the basic score of 11 students or 44% increased to 16 students or 64% in the first cycle and increased to 19 students or 76% in Cycle II. On the skills competence, the number of students who reach the minimum criteria of mastery learning from Cycle I of 5 students or 20% improve to 11 students or 44% in cycle II. Based on the results of this research can be concluded that the implementation of the Discovery Learning model can improve the learning achievement of the second semester students of class VIIB of SMPIT Al-Fityah Pekanbaru in the second semester academic year 2017/2018.Keywords: Students’ Math Achievement, Discovery Learning Model, Clasroom Action Research.

Abstract

Abstract : The research background is the importance of mathematics learning instrument as mathematics lesson plans which is arranged by the teacher as a professional worker in order to achieve mathematics learning goals. The available of mathematics learning instrument is limited, and does not refer to 2013’s Curriculum yet. This research is aimed to develop the mathematics learning instrument: syllabus, lesson plans, and student worksheets using the discovery learning model on ratio trigonometry subject for 10th grade students of SMA/ MA that is categorized as valid and the student worksheets is categorized as practical. This research used Research and Development (R&D) model with ADDIE procedure; analyze, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Due to time and cost barriers, this research was only done until the development stage.  The research instruments that used in this research were learning instrument validation sheets and student response questionnaires. Syllabus, lesson plans, and student worksheets are validated by three validators and revised according to the validator’s suggestions, and then the student worksheets is tested on nine students of Class X MIA 6 of SMA Negeri 1 Pekanbaru. According to the result of validation data analysis of syllabus, lesson plans, and student worksheets, those were categorized as very valid with the average score for syllabus was 3.80, for lesson plans was 3.82, and student worksheets was 3.70. According to the result of student response questionnaires toward the student worksheets practicality on a limited trials, the student worksheets were categorized as very practical with a percentage of 89.19%. According to the result of data analysis and the discussion, it can be concluded that the syllabus, lesson plans, and student worksheets using the discovery learning model on ratio trigonometry subject were very valid, and the student worksheests were very practical and feasible to be used by 10th grade students of SMA/ MA. Key Words: Discovery Learning Model, Mathematics Learning Instrument, Ratio Trigonometry, Validity and Practicality.

Abstract

This study aims to describe generally about the effects of using Trimino Mathematical Model of Cooperative Learning on the results of mathematics, especially for the first grade students of SDN Tarai Bangun. The method used is to analyze and interpret experiments clearly about the conditions that exist in the field. The data collection techniques used were direct observation of the experiment as the subject of research. The results of this study can be concluded that learning through trimino mathematical model cause differences improvement of students’ mathematics learning outcomes significantly between the experimental class and control class. The attitude of the students based on the scale of attitudes about learning initiative, set a goal of learning, motivation, behavior (self), find and utilize relevant learning resources, evaluate the process and outcomes of learning. This is indicated positively by the opinion of students towards learning mathematics using mathematical trimino media.

Abstract

Abstract : This research is a class action research that aims to increase the outcomes of mathematics learning of students by applying Problem Based Learning (PBL). The subjects of this research are the student of class XI IPA4 SMA Negeri 5 Pekanbaru at second semester of academic years 2018/2019 which total number of participant are 36 students, consists of 16 male students and 20 female students with heterogeneous academic achievement. The data needed is data on teacher and student activities collected by observation techniques and analyzed by descriptive narrative and data on student learning outcomes collected by test techniques and analyzed with descriptive statistics. Weaknesses in cycle I are improved in the implementation of cycle II in accordance with the improvement plan. The results of the study showed that the implementation of the learning process in cycle II was improved from cycle I. The result of this research could be concluded that the implementation of Problem Based Learning model can increase the outcomes of mathematics learning of students of grade XI Science4 SMA Negeri 5 Pekanbaru on the second semester academic years 2018/2019 on matrix.Key Words : The outcomes of mathematics learning, Problem Based Learning, class action research
