Abstract

Learning outcome and procedural skills students are still classified as low, as in school learning model did not match expectation. So, it will be done research on improving learning outcomes and procedural skills of the students through direct instruction of physics IPA learning. This research aims to describe (1) The fidelity of lesson plans during the process of teaching and learning through direct instruction, (2) Procedural skills of students through direct instruction, (3) Learning outcome through direct instruction. This research is a research action class that consists of two cycles with model Hopkins. The subject of research is the grade VIII E The middle state 31 Banjarmasin. The data collection using to the test, and observations. Analytical techniques descriptive quantitative and qualitative data. The results showed that (1) The fidelity of lesson plans during the process of teaching and learning through direct instruction increase in cycle I gained average score of 86,04% became 97,26% cycle II, (2) and procedural skills students also experienced an increase in cycle I gained an average score of 82,76% became 94,83% in cycle II, (3) Learning outcome experience increased where thoroughly the results of the study on cycle I of 48,28% became 89,66%. Provide the conclusion that with the use of the few phase direct instruction in the process of learning can improve the procedural skill and the student learning as expected. Key words: procedural skills, direct instruction, learning outcomes

Abstract

Abstrak: Rendahnya keterampilan proses sains siswa dikarenakan siswa kurang didorong untuk mengembangkan keterampilan proses menyebabkan perlunya dilakukan penelitian yang bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan cara meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains siswa melalui model guided discovery learning  pada materi fluida statis. Tujuan khusus penelitian adalah mendeskripsikan: (1)  keterlaksanaan RPP, (2) keterampilan proses sains, (3) aktivitas siswa, dan (4) hasil belajar. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas yang terdiri atas dua siklus, setiap siklusnya terdiri dari: plan, action/observation, dan reflective. Perangkat dan instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah RPP, LKS, THB, materi ajar, rubrik penilaian keterampilan proses sains, dan lembar observasi keterampilan guru serta aktivitas siswa. Data diperoleh dari hasil tes, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Temuan penelitian yaitu: (1) keterlaksanaan RPP yaitu 83% pada siklus I menjadi 90% dengan kategori sangat baik pada siklus II; (2) keterampilan proses sains siswa, yaitu 61% pada proses pembelajaran dan 69% pada akhir siklus I dengan kategori baik menjadi 83% dan 93% pada siklus II dengan kategori sangat baik; (3) Aktivitas belajar siswa juga meningkat dari 69% dengan kategori aktif pada siklus I menjadi 86,8% dengan kategori sangat aktif pada siklus II; (4) hasil belajar siswa, yaitu 86% (tuntas) pada siklus I menjadi 97% (tuntas) pada siklus II. Diperoleh simpulan bahwa keterampilan proses sains siswa meningkat setelah diterapkan model guided discovery learning. Kata kunci: Guided discovery learning, keterampilan proses sains, fluida statis, hasil belajar Abstract: The low science skill process of students is because the students are less support to develop the science process skill. It causes the need of research conduct which aims to describe the way to increase science skill process of the students through the model of guided discovery learning in static fluid subject. The special purpose was to describe: (1) the implementation of RPP, (2) science process skill, (3) students’ activity and (4) learning outcome. This research was class action research which consist of two cycles, each cycle involved: plan, action/observation and reflective. The equipment and instrument of the research which were used were RPP, LKS, THB, teaching material, science process skill assessment and documentation. The findings of this research were: (1) the implementation of RPP was 70% with good category in I cycle became 90% with very good category in cycle II; (2) the science process skill of the students, 61% on learning process and 69% in the end of cycle I with good category also increased from 69% with active category on cycle I became 86,8% with very active category o cycle II: (4) the learning outcome was 86% (complete) on cycle I became 97% (complete on cycle II. The conclusion is the science process skill increases after the implementation of guided discovery learning model. Key Words: Guided discovery learning, science process skill, static fluid, learning outcome.

Abstract

Abstrak: Rendahnya keterampilan prosedural siswa dalam proses pembelajaran merupakan hal yang mendasari penelitian. Penelitian ini bertujuan  meningkatkan keterampilan prosedural siswa melalui model pengajaran langsung berbantuan media animasi pada materi cahaya. Tujuan khusus penelitian  mendeskripsikan : (1) keterlaksanaan rencana pelaksanaan pembelajaran, (2) keterampilan prosedural, (3) hasil belajar. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas yang  terdiri dari dua siklus setiap siklus terdiri dari dua pertemuan. Perangkat dan istrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian  adalah rencana pelaksanaan pembelajaran, materi ajar, lembar kerja siswa, tes hasil belajar, lembar observasi keterampilan guru dan lembar keterampilan prosedural siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukan (1) keterlaksanaan rencana pelaksanaan pembelajaran siklus I sebesar 79,75% berkategori baik dan siklus II sebesar 94,00% berkategori sangat baik; (2) keterampilan prosedural siswa siklus I sebesar 3,35 berkategori sangat baik dan siklus II sebesar 3,64 berkategori sangat baik; (3) hasil belajar siswa secara klasikal siklus I sebesar 24% berkategori tidak tuntas dan  siklus II sebesar 84% berkategori tuntas. Diperoleh simpulan bahwa keterampilan prosedural siswa kelas VIII A SMP Negeri 27 Banjarmasin pada materi cahaya meningkat setelah diterapkan model pengajaran langsung berbantuan media animasi.Kata kunci: Pengajaran langsung, media animasi, dan keterampilan prosedural Abstract: The low level of the procedural skills students’ in the learning process is the underlying factor of this research. This research aims to improve the activity of students procedural skills through direct instruction model of animated media on the light material . The specific purposes of this study: (1) the implementation of the lesson plan; (2) procedural skills, and (3) results of the study. This research is a classroom action research consisting of two cycles and each cycle consists of two meetings. The instruments used in this research were lesson plan, the materials, student worksheets, test results, observation sheets and student procedural skills sheets. The result showed (1) the implementation of lesson plan in cycle I showed 79,75% that categorized into good category while in cycle II was 94,00% that categorized into very good category; (2) the of procedural skills in cycle I was 3,35 that categorized into very good category and in cycle II was 3,64 that categorized into very good category; (3) the result of students classical percentage in cycle I was 24% that categorized into fail category while in cycle II the percentage was 84% that categorized into excellent category. It can be concluded that the students’ result in VIII A of SMP Negeri 27 Banjarmasin on the light material increased after the implementation of direct instruction model assisted animation media.
