Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh motivasi belajar ditinjau dari latar belakang pilihanjurusan terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis mahasiswa di STKIP Siliwangi Bandung. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Matematika di STKIP Siliwangi. Sedangkan sampelnya adalah 2 kelas Program Studi Pendidikan Matematika yang sedang menempuh mata kuliah Struktur Aljabar II. Pengujian hipotesis ini menggunakan anova 1 jalur. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa:1)Terdapat pengaruh motivasi belajar mahasiswa ditinjau dari latar belakang pilihan jurusan terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis mahasiswa di STKIP Siliwangi Bandung pada Mata Kuliah Struktur Aljabar II; 2) Besarnya pengaruh motivasi belajar motivasi belajar mahasiswa ditinjau dari latar belakang pilihan jurusan terhadap Kemampuan berpikir kritis mahasiswa pada mata kuliah Struktur Aljabar II sebesar 48,297 sedangkan sisanya sebesar 51,703 dipengaruhi oleh faktor-faktor lain.

Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara resiliensi matematis dengan kemampuan akademik mahasiswa pada mata kuliah Statistika Matematika. Penelitian ini didasari oleh capaian akademik pada mata kuliah Statistika Matematika yang tergolong rendah. Mahasiswa merasa kesulitan dan mudah menyerah dalam menyelesaikan soal. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah adalah metode survey dengan teknik korelasi. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh mahasiswa program studi pendidikan matematika IKIP Siliwangi, sampel penelitian diambil dengan teknik purposive sampling sebanyak 30 orang mahasiswa yang mengambil mata kuliah Statistika Matematika. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini berupa soal tes uraian kemampuan akademik dan soal non tes berupa skala resiliensi matematis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang positif antara resiliensi matematis dengan kemampuan akademik mahasiswa, dengan kontribusi resiliensi matematis sebesar 48,5 % terhadap kemampuan akademik mahasiswa. Kata Kunci: Resiliensi matematis, kemampuan akademik, statistika matematika. Abstract The aims of this study was to determined the relationship between mathematical resilience with academic ability of students in Mathematics Statistics. This research is based on low academic achievement of students in Mathematics Statistics course. Students find difficulty and easily give up in solving the problem. The method used in this research is survey method with correlation technique. Population in this research is all student in study program of mathematics in IKIP Siliwangi, research sample is taken by purposive sampling technique as many as 30 students who take on Mathematics Statistics course. The Instruments in this study are test description of academic ability questions and non test questions in the form of mathematical resilience scale. The results showed that there was a positive correlation between mathematical resilience and students academic ability, with mathematical resilience contribution of 48,5% to students academic ability. Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh masih rendahnya kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematik siswa Madrasah Tsanawiyah (MTs) swasta di Kota Cimahi sehingga diperlukan pendekatan pembelajaran untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut. Alternatif pendekatan yang diterapkan yaitu dengan pendekatan Open-Ended. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menelaah dan mengetahui apakah terdapat pencapaian dan peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematik siswa MTs yang pembelajarannya menggunakan pendekatan Open-Ended. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuasi eksperimen. Pada awal dan akhir pembelajaran, siswa diberikan tes. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII MTs swasta dengan subjek sampelnya adalah siswa kelas VIII di salah satu MTs swasta di Kota Cimahi dengan jumlah siswa sebanyak 24 orang. Pengumpulan data dalam peneltian ini berupa tes sebanyak 5 soal uraian, kemudian data skor kemampuan pemahaman matematik tersebut dianalisis dengan deskriptif dan inferensial dengan menggunakan uji perbedaan dua rata-rata. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, baik dari hasil analisis maupun pengujian hipotesis, maka peneliti dapat menyimpulkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematik siswa MTs melalui pendekatan Open-ended dan terdapat pencapai kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematik siswa MTs melalui pendekatan Open-ended.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the mathematical problem solving abilities of high school students based on the stage of understanding the problem, planning strategies, solving problems, and checking the answers obtained. The subjects of this study were students of class X MIA force 2018/2019 at the Sumur Bandung High School in 22 Bandung Barat regencies. The research used is qualitative descriptive method. The results of students are then analyzed based on the steps that are done. Based on the results of the analysis of students' mathematical problem solving abilities are still very low, especially at the stage of checking the answers obtained. Of the 22 students only 6 people were able to solve the questions properly and correctly, or 26.52% of the total students who took the test. So that it can be stated that the mathematical problem solving abilities of class X MIA students at Sumur Bandung High School are of low qualification, so the need for improvement and improvement efforts.

Abstract

Problem solving ability is an important mathematical ability for students to solve existing problems. This study aims to analyze students' mathematical problem solving abilities in the story problems of three-variable linear equation systems. This research was conducted in class X in one of the Alliyah Madrasas in Cianjur. The approach used is a problem based learning approach with a qualitative descriptive method. The instrument consists of 6 pieces of problem solving story problems. The test done by students is given a score and in the analysis of errors in answering the questions. The results of the study show that of the 40 class X students only 4 students can complete the conclusion, 13 students complete the process skills, 24 students complete the transformation phase and 32 students can complete the problem understanding stage. In terms of problem solving abilities in class X in one of the Alliyah Madrasas in Cianjur is still weak.

Abstract

This research is a qualitative descriptive study that aims to analyze the level of students' understanding ability by using a contextual approach in solving problems in set material by categorizing the level of high, medium, and low mathematical understanding abilities. The research subjects were 37-class VII-B students. The form of data collection is giving 4 items written test questions. Based on the results of the analysis, the average value of all instrument questions mathematical reasoning ability obtained, 69% for indicators of mechanical understanding which are characterized by activities of remembering and applying formulas routinely and counting simple, 52% for indicators applying formulas or concepts in simple cases or in similar cases, 56% for indicators prove the truth of a formula and theorem, and 97% for estimating the truth with certainty (without hesitation) before further analysis. so if it is totaled and averaged at 68%. Then the mathematical understanding ability of junior high school students in one of the seventh grade middle school in Cianjur is classified as moderate

Abstract

This study aims to see the extent to which junior high school students' mathematical problem solving abilities include understanding problems, planning strategies, solving problems and checking reliability. The subjects of this study were students of class VII B of Sumur Bandung Middle School, which amounted to 40 students. Data collection techniques use test techniques, while the techniques used to analyze data use percentage averages. The results showed that students' mathematical problem solving abilities were still low, seen from the percentage stating that students could not solve the problem and re-examine the problems given by the teacher. Based on the analysis that has been done, the results obtained are (1) students answer non-systematic questions, (2) lack of understanding of the sequence of problem solving, (3) students are too rushed to resolve the problem given. So the mathematical problem solving abilities of class VII B students at Sumur Bandung Middle School are in low qualifications.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the mathematical problem solving abilities of junior high school students in West Bandung Regency with indicator of student’s mathematical problem solving abilities used are to identify known data, data asked, sufficient data for problem solving, identifying strategies that can be taken, completing mathematical models accompanied by reasons, check the correctness of the solution obtained. This research was conducted on 20 students in one of the junior high school in The Cililin District West Bandung Regency using a qualitative descriptive method. The instrument used in the form of 5 items about mathematical problem solving skills in the material System of Two Variable Linear Equations. The conclusion of this study is that the mathematical problem solving ability of junior high school students in Cililin District is still low.

Abstract

Many approaches that can be used to improve students' mathematical understanding skills include multimedia-based contextual approaches. Multimedia-based contextual approach is a natural learning approach, in accordance with the process of discovery and development of science, closely related to the real world, so that it is more meaningful and can serve the cognitive, affective, and psychomotor needs of students and is supported by interactive multimedia so imagination or all senses are aroused in a learning activity. The purpose of this study is to find out whether the ability of students' mathematical understanding of learning using multimedia-based contextual approaches is better than those using conventional approaches. The method used in this study is the experimental method, while the research instrument is a description test. The results showed that the ability of mathematical understanding of junior high school students whose learning using multimedia-based contextual approaches was better than those using conventional approaches. Multimedia-based contextual learning should be used as an alternative to mathematics learning, especially selected and essential topics in mathematics.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the level of mathematical problem solving ability of junior high school students in Cianjur Regency on one variable linear equation material. The method used in this study is qualitative descriptive method. The population in this study were seventh grade students in one of the junior high schools in Cianjur Regency which numbered 50 students. The sampling technique is by purposive sampling technique, then 10 research subjects were determined. The instrument used was in the form of 4 items about mathematical problem solving abilities in one variable linear equation material and interviews on selected subjects. The conclusion of this study is the mathematical problem solving ability of seventh grade students in Cianjur Regency seen from the indicators identifying the adequacy of the data to solve the problem is quite high, but the indicators make mathematical models, apply strategies to solve problems and check the truth of the results and answers are still relatively low
