Abstract

Based on preliminary observation and research finding in MAN in Tanah Datar, it was found that madrasah which have a good accreditation still have problems concerning with aspects of school management. The purposes of this research were to analyze teachers’ perception toward managerial competence of the madrasah principals in the aspects of the madrasah activities planning, organizing, leadership, actuating, and controlling. The methodology used in this research was mixed method by using the concurrent embedded model. Quantitative data was gotten from teachers of MAN in Tanah Datar while for the qualitative data was gotten from the school principals, vice school principals as well as teachers. Based on the research finding, it was found that in the madrasah activities planning was 82.11%; activities organizing was 79.50%; activities leading was 79.92%; activities actuating was 78.53%; and activities controlling was 81 %. In general, the competence of the madrasah principals of MAN in Tanah Datar was good in all aspect.

Abstract

This research was conducted based on the importance of students’ social interaction. This research used a quantitative method of descriptive correlational type. The population of the research was the students of SMP Negeri 2 Rejang Lebong selected by the Proportional Stratified Random Sampling technique. The findings of the research  indicated that: (1) the self-concept of students was at a good enough category, (2) the need for affiliation was at a high category, (3) social interaction was at a high category, (4) there was a positive contribution and significant correlation between self-concept toward students’ social interaction, (5) there was a positive contribution and significant correlation between the needs of affiliation toward students’ social interaction, and (4) there was a positive contribution and significant correlation between self-concept and need for affiliation concurrently toward students’ social interaction of SMP Negeri 2 Rejang Lebong.

Abstract

This article presents a democratic leadership style of a principal with teacher performance in elementary school in Padang Utara District of Padang City. The teacher's appearance here is very low. Many factors affect teacher performance, one of which is the democratic leadership style of a principal. There were 236 teachers who were the population in the study and 78 taken as samples. The sampling technique uses random sampling proportional to slovin formula. The instrument used in this study is a questionnaire. In general, the results of this study are (1) Democratic leadership style of a good principal that is 90.89%, (2) Teacher performance is high enough that is 72.50%, (3) There is a significant relationship between democratic leadership style with principal with teacher performance at North Padang State Elementary School in Padang City

Abstract

Based on phenomena that found in vocational senior high school in Padang city which show that school administration personal performance was low. This matter anticipated related to unsuitable compensation that they’ve got with their performance.  The research was to obtain information about school administration personal performance, compensation and compensation relations with school administration personal performance vocational senior high school in Padang city. The hypothesis of this research that there is a significant relationship between compensation with school administration personal performance. The population this research were all school administration personal in vocational senior high school in Padang city, there are 111 school administration personal. The samples taken by using proportional stratified random sampling technique and there are 53 school administration personal. The instrument use in this research is questionnaire in semantic scale model that had been tested for validity and reliability. Based on research, compensation in enough categories namely 73,47%, and school administration personal performance in the enough categories namely 73,07% and there is a significant relation between compensation and performance good enough with correlation equal to 0,852.

Abstract

This research was based on the observation of the author at the Tanah Datar District Education and Culture Office conducted by the leadership, namely the Head of the Division and the Head of the Session which were categorized Good. This type of research is descriptive research. The population of this study was all employees at the Tanah Datar District Education and Culture Office, which numbered 62 people. The data collection tool in this study is a questionnaire or questionnaire, which is arranged in the form of a Likert sketch that has been tested for validity and reliability. Data analyzed using the average formula. The results showed that the performance management of employees at the Tanah Datar District Education and Culture Office showed that 1) employee performance planning was in the Good category with an average score of 3.75, 2) the implementation of employee performance is in the Good category with an average score of 3.73, 3) the assessment of employee performance is in the category of Good Enough with an average score of 3.58, 4) reviewing employee performance in the Good category, with an average score of 3.67, 5) improvement in employee performance in the Good category with an average score namely 3.63, and then general the performance management of the Culture and Education Office of the Tanah Datar District staff has been well managed.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bermaksud untuk megungkapkan pengaruh pendekatan open ended  dan motivasi belajar terhadap hasil belajar siswa kelas V sekolah dasar. Jenis penelitian adalah quasy eksperiment dengan rancangan yang digunakan adalah Randomized Control Group Only Design. Siswa kelas V SDN Gugus VI Kecamatan  Palembayan menjadi populasi dalam penelitian ini. Sedangkan sampelnya siswa kelas Vb sekolah dasar negeri 27 Tapian Kandis sebagai kelas eksperimen dan siswa kelas Va sekolah dasar negeri 27 Tapian Kandis sebagai kelas kontrol. Sampel diambil menggunakan teknik simple random sampling. Data penelitian dianalisis melalui hasil belajar matematika dan motivasi belajar. Hipotesis 1,2 dan 3 diuji menggunakan uji t, sedangkan hipotesis 4 menggunakan anava dua arah. Penelitian ini membuktikan adanya pengaruh pendekatan open ended dan motivasi belajar terhadap hasil belajar matematika siswa kelas V sekolah dasar, dimana rata rata hasil belajar siswa di kelas eksperimen saat pretest 54,04 dan posttes 80,39,  kemudian rata-rata hasil belajar siswa kelas kotrol saat pretest 49,71 dan posttes 76,38
