Abstract

This quasi experimental research aimed to know the effectiveness of cooperative learning of TPS in terms of students mathematical concepts. The population of this research was all students of seventh grade in Junior High School 9 Bandar Lampung that were distributed into seven classes. The samples of this research were students of VIIA and VIID class which were chosen by combination of purposive and random sampling. This research used posttest only control group design. Analysis data of this research used t-test. Based on the result of this research, it was concluded that cooperative learning of TPS wasnt effective in terms of students mathematical concepts. However, students mathematical concepts in TPS class is better than conventional class.Penelitian eksperimen semu ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TPS ditinjau dari pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 9 Bandar Lampung yang terdistribusi kedalam 7 kelas. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII A dan VII D yang dipilih dengan teknik gabungan yaitu teknik purposive dan teknik random sampling. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain posttest only control group design. Analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan uji-t. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TPS tidak efektif ditinjau dari pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Akan tetapi, pemahaman konsep siswa TPS lebih baik daripada konvensional.Kata kunci: Efektivitas, Pemahaman Konsep Matematis, Think Pair Share
