Abstract

This research aimed to know the effectiveness of discovery learning model based on ethnomathematics in terms of studentscritical thinking skill. The population of this research was students of grade VII in SMP Negeri3 Sukoharjoin academic year of 2017/2018. Thesamplesof thisresearch was students of VII-B classes which were chosen by purposive sampling technique. The design of this research is one group pretest-posttest. Research data were obtained through critical thinking skill. Analysis data of this research used t paired-test. Based on the result of the research and analysis data concluded that discovery learning modelbased on ethnomathematics was not effective in terms of students critical thinking skill. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas model pembelajaran discovery learning berbasis ethnomathematics ditinjau dari kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 3 Sukoharjo tahun pelajaran 2017/2018. Sampel penelitian adalah kelas VII-B yang diambil dengan teknik purposive sampling. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah one group pretest-posttest. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui tes kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Analisis data penelitian ini menggunakan uji berpasangan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dan analisis data disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran discovery learning berbasis ethnomathematics tidak efektif ditinjau dari kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa.Kata Kunci: Berpikir Kritis, Discovery Learning, Efektivitas, Ethnomathematics.
