Abstract

This study aims to describe the form, function, and meaning of affix attached to the basic form of Benuaq language in Kampung Jengan Danum, Damai District, West Kutai Regency. This research is qualitative research with the technique of data analysis is BUL (Bagi Unsur Langsung) technique. This study was conducted in Kampung Jengan Danum, Damai District, West Kutai Regency. The research data is the entire word affixed spoken of native speakers Benuaq Kampung Jengan Danum. Data collection techniques used are recording techniques, cakap libat semuka technique, and simak cakap technique. The results showed that the Dayak Benuaq language in Kampung Jengan Danum has three forms affix, that is prefixes, suffixes, and combination of affixes. The prefixes are: {be-}, {pe-}, {peN-}, {te-}, and {N-}. The suffixes are: {tn}. The combination of affixes are: {ke- + N-} and {sek + N-}. The affix converts the categories of adjectives into verbs, verbs into adjectives, nouns into verbs, and nouns into adjectives. The meaning of the affixation of the Benuaq Dayak?s basic word is to declare an action, result of, a job, and to say to do work.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Tujuan penelitian ini mendeskripsikan unsur struktural dan pandangan dunia pengarang novel Mellow Yellow Drama karya Audrey Yu Jia Hui. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian sosiologi sastra dengan menggunakan teori Strukturalisme Genetik. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik baca, teknik catat, dan teknik pustaka. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah model dialektik. Hasil penelitian adalah sebagai berikut. Pertama, unsur struktural Mellow Yellow Drama karya Audrey Yu Jia Hui terdiri atas unsur intrinsik dan ekstrinsik. Unsur intrinsiknya terdiri dari alur, tokoh, latar, sudut pandang, dan tema. Alur dalam novel ini adalah alur campuran. Tokoh utamanya adalah Audrey dan memiliki tokoh tambahan yakni Papa dan Mama. Sebagian besar latar berada di kota Surabaya dan Virginia. Waktu penceritaan yang terjadi adalah ketika Audrey kecil, kerusuhan 98, perkuliahan Audrey di luar negeri, dan ketika Audrey kembali ke Indonesia. Latar sosialnya adalah adanya sistem monopoli dalam pemerintahan yang berlangsung pada saat itu, diskriminasi terhadap kaum keturunan Tionghoa, dan pengucilan terhadap anak jenius yang dipandang aneh karena berbeda dengan anak-anak seusianya. Sudut pandang yang digunakan adalah sudut pandang orang pertama. Tema yang diusung adalah dimensi tingkat egois dan tingkat sosial. Unsur ekstrinsik Mellow Yellow Drama yang dijabarkan dalam penelitian ini adalah adanya keterkaitan latar belakang sejarah yang mengondisikan penggambaran sosial dalam cerita. Kedua, pandangan dunia Audrey Yu Jia Hui dalam Mellow Yellow Drama adalah pandangan humanisme, eksistensialisme, nasionalisme, dan religiositas.             Kata Kunci: Tionghoa, pandangan dunia pengarang, strukturalisme genetik, sosiologi sastra ABSTRACT This research aimed to describe the structural elements and to know the author’s worldview in Audrey’s Mellow Yellow Drama. This is a sociology literature research that used genetic structuralism theory. This research used descriptive qualitative approach. To get the data and result, the researcher used the reading technique, note technique, and library technique. Data analyzing technic that used in this research is dialectic models. The result of this research as bellows. First, the structural elements of Audrey’s Mellow Yellow Drama consisted of intrinsic elements and extrinsic elements. The intrinsic elements consisted of plot, character, setting, the point of view, and theme. The plot in this novel in mixing plot. The main character is Audrey and the additional character are Papa and Mama. Most of the setting in the Surabaya and Virginia. The time of the story is in Audrey’s childhood, 98 disturbances, Audrey’s college life in abroad, and when Audrey came back to Indonesia. The social setting in this novel such as there is monopoly system in the government at that time, the discrimination towards the Tionghoa society, and the bullying towards the prodigy child because they are different. This novel used the first-person point of view. The theme in this novel is social and ego dimension state. The extrinsic elements of Audrey’s Mellow Yellow Drama that explained in this research such as there is a connection between historical background which conditioning the social view in the story. Second, the author’s worldview in Audrey’s Mellow Yellow Drama is humanism view, existentialism view, nationalism view, and religiosity view. Keywords: Tionghoa, author’s worldview, genetic structuralism, sociology of literature

Abstract

ABSTRACT The purposes of this research were to describe the factual structure and the struggle of female characters in “Tanah Tabu” novel by Anindita S. Thayf in terms of existentialist feminism. The researcher was interested to analyze “Tanah Tabu” novel, because this novel presented female characters that can fight to get freedom. The type of this research was descriptive qualitative method, which obtains the information and the description of the struggle of the female characters in “Tanah Tabu” novel based on existentialist feminism. This research used structural approach. The source of data in the research was from “Tanah Tabu” novel by Anindita S. Thayf. Data collection techniques in this research such as read, corect, and write. Meanwhile, data analysis techniques were provided in three phases such as data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The result of this research shows the factual structure of the “Tanah Tabu” novel by Anindita S. Thayf, consisting of characters characterization, plot, and setting. This novel used flashback plot. The characters in this novel have a role as the main character and additional characters. The setting was in Papua, which shows the life of Papua society. The story time shows the year 2012, 1946, 1956, 1958, and 1960. The struggle of female characters in the “Tanah Tabu” novel by Anindita S. Thayf based on existentialist feminism, consists of awareness as liyan, freedom, and transcendence. Awareness as a liyan occurs in Mabel, Mace, and Mama Helda. These three female characters realized that they have been oppressed. Through the awareness, they choose to fight to get out of the oppression. The freedom is owned by Mabel, Mace, and Mama Helda. They are free to make choices which they hold as true and brave to responsible for their decision. Transcendence is performed by Mabel, Mace, and Mama Helda. They became working women, intellectual women, women of socialist transformation, and women follow dominant groups. Key words: female character, novel, existentialist feminism ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan fakta cerita dan perjuangan tokoh perempuan dalam novel Tanah Tabu karya Anindita S. Thayf ditinjau dari feminisme eksistensialis. Penulis tertarik mengkaji novel Tanah Tabu, karena novel ini menghadirkan tokoh perempuan yang mampu berjuang mendapatkan kebebasan. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif, yaitu untuk memperoleh informasi dan gambaran perjuangan tokoh perempuan dalam novel Tanah Tabu berdasarkan feminisme eksistensialis. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan struktural. Sumber data penelitian adalah novel Tanah Tabu karya Anindita S. Thayf. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik baca, simak, dan catat. Teknik analisis data menggunakan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan simpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa fakta cerita novel Tanah Tabu karya Anindita S. Thayf, terdiri atas alur, tokoh penokohan, dan latar. Tokoh dalam novel ini mempunyai peranan sebagai tokoh utama dan tokoh tambahan. Latar berada di Papua dengan latar suasana kehidupan masyarakat Papua. Waktu cerita menunjukan tahun 2012, 1946, 1956, 1958, dan 1960. Novel ini menggunakan alur mundur. Perjuangan tokoh perempuan dalam novel TanahTabu karya Anindita S. Thayf berdasarkan feminisme eksistensialis, terdiri atas kesadaran sebagai liyan, kebebasan, dan transendensi. Kesadaran sebagai liyan terjadi pada Mabel, Mace, dan Mama Helda. Ketiga tokoh ini menyadari telah tertindas. Melalui kesadaran ini pula, mereka memilih berjuang untuk keluar dari ketertindasan. Kebebasan dimiliki oleh Mabel, Mace, dan Mama Helda. Mereka bebas menentukan pilihan yang mereka anggap benar dan berani bertanggung jawab atas pilihan tersebut. Transendensi dilakukan oleh Mabel, Mace, dan Mama Helda. Mereka menjadi perempuan pekerja, perempuan intelektual, perempuan transformasi sosialis, dan perempuan mengikuti kelompok dominan. Kata kunci: tokoh perempuan, novel, feminisme eksistensialis

Abstract

The purposes of this research are to describe story facts, personality structure of female lead character, and the factor behind personality changes of female lead character in the novel Alisya by Muhammad Makhdlori. This research is a descriptive qualitative research with psychology of literature studies. This research use objective approach. The data source of this research is from the novel Alisya by Muhammad Makhdlori. The data collection techniques are reading and noting. The data analysis technique used qualitative analysis that consists of three ways, those are data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusion. The results of this research showed some findings, firstly, story fact in the novel Alisya consists of plot, characterization, and setting. The plot in this novel is forward. The characters in this novel are having roles as main character and additional character. Settings of place in this novel are in Batam, Jakarta and Singapore. Settings of time happen before Alisya became a bitch, after Alisya became a bitch, when Alisya infected HIV’s virus and the last when Alisya stop became a bitch. Social setting in this novel is society’s point of view of HIV’s victim. Secondly, the stimulus of id in Alisya portrayed when Alisya want to flee from poverty, want to become a famous model, want to take a break, want to die, and want to eat. The responds of ego showed when Alisya decided to achieve an offer to take naked photo in magazine and when she decided to achieve Sandy’s invitation to go to the party that held in Singapore. The superego responds showed when Alisya counterbalances whether to achieve the offer to take naked photo or not. Thirdly, from the analysis of Alisya’s personality the researcher fond some factors of Alisya’s personality changes, those are; physical factor, social factor, and the factor from her own self.Keywords: female lead character, personality, Alisya novel

Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pembentukan humor Stand Up Comedy One-liner yang dilakukan oleh Indra Frimawan, juara 3 dari kompetisi Stand Up Comedy Indonesia Season 5 (SUCI 5) Kompas TV. Penelitian ini juga bertujuan untuk mengetahui pola pembentukan humor sehingga mudah untuk dipelajari oleh orang awam yang memiliki latar belakang komedi yang minim. Tujuan tersebut didasarkan atas kesadaran bahwa tertawa merupakan sesuatu yang penting dalam kehidupan. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan pemaparan deksriptif. Sumber data penelitian ini adalah tuturan humor Indra Frimawan selama berada di kompetisi SUCI 5 Kompas TV. Penelitian ini berlangsung selama 1 Januari ? 30 April 2018. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah metode simak dengan teknik sadap, rekam, dan catat. Metode analisis data yang digunakan yaitu metode padan dengan teknik PUP pragmatis. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa ada dua jenis penyimpangan praanggapan yang digunakan untuk membangun joke, yaitu: penyimpangan praanggapan struktur dan umum. Ragam penyimpangan praanggapan struktur yang ditemukan di dalam pembentukan joke adalah satu kali penyimpangan pada satu tuturan joke, dua kali atau lebih penyimpangan pada satu tuturan joke, penggunaan properti, dan penggunaan act-out. Ragam penyimpangan praanggapan umum yang ditemukan di dalam pembentukan joke dibedakan melalui pengetahuan masyarakat yang disimpangkan mencakup tentang kebiasaan masyarakat, dunia artis, fenomena khusus, iklan, dan lagu. Kata kunci: stand up comedy, one-liner, SUCI 5, pragmatik  ABSTRACTThis research is conducted to know about humor establishment of Stand Up Comedy One-liner which performed by Indra Frimawan as the third champion from Stand Up Comedy Indonesia season 5 (SUCI 5) Kompas TV competition. This research is also conducted to find out pattern of humor establishment to give the knowledge for the people which have low knowledge background about comedy. Those purposes mean that people must realize that laugh is important thing in our life. The research method which is used in this research is qualitative descriptive. The data source of this research is Indra Frimawan?s perform when he was in the competition at SUCI 5 Kompas TV. This research started from 1 January ? 30 April 2018. Data collection method which used in this research are watch, record and taking note.  Data analysis method is equivalent method with PUP pragmatic technique. The result of this research shows that deviance presupposition that is used to establish joke there are two types of, they are structure deviance presupposition and the common one.  Types of structure deviance presupposition that found to make joke is once deviance on an utterances of joke, twice or more deviance on an utterances in joke, using properties and act-out. Types of deviance presupposition in commonly that found in make joke is divided throughout people?s knowledge which have deviance about people?s habit, entertainment, special phenomenon, advertisement, and music. Keywords:  stand up comedy, one-liner, SUCI 5, pragmatic

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bentuk dan fungsi eufemisme pada tuturan berita kriminal Patroli di Indosiar. Pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan yaitu pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif dan termasuk dalam jenis penelitian kepustakaan. Teknik penyediaan data yang digunakan adalah teknik sadap dengan teknik simak bebas libat cakap dan catat. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu teknik dari metode agih yang terdiri dari teknik dasar bagi unsur langsung dan teknik ganti sebagai teknik lanjutan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, ditemukan bentuk ungkapan eufemisme antara lain: (1) bentuk singkatan, (2) kata serapan, (3) istilah asing, (4) metafora, dan (5) perifrasis. Adapula fungsi ungkapan yang ditemukan yaitu; (1) sebagai alat untuk menghaluskan ucapan, (2) sebagai alat untuk merahasiakan sesuatu, (3) sebagai alat untuk berdiplomasi, (4) sebagai alat pendidikan, dan (5) sebagai alat penolak bahaya. Kata kunci: eufemisme, bentuk, fungsi, Patroli  ABSTRACT This study aims to describe the form and function of euphemism on Patroli criminal criminal news in Indosiar. The research approach used is a qualitative approach with descriptive methods and is included in the type of library research. The data supply technique used is the tapping technique with competent and free involvement techniques. The data analysis technique used is the technique from the method which consists of basic techniques for direct elements and substitute techniques as advanced techniques. Based on the results of the study, found expressions of euphemism include: (1) abbreviations, (2) absorption words, (3) foreign terms, (4) metaphors, and (5) periphrasis. There is also an expression function found, namely; (1) as a tool for refining speech, (2) as a tool to keep things a secret, (3) as a tool for diplomacy, (4) as an educational tool, and (5) as a hazard repellent. Keywords: euphemism, form, function,Patroli

Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan fakta cerita, serta ketidakadilan gender pada tokoh perempuan bernama Sumarsih dalam novel Wanita di Jantung Jakarta karya Korrie Layun Rampan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode pustaka kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif, yaitu untuk memperoleh informasi dan gambaran tokoh perempuan dalam novel Wanita di Jantung Jakarta berdasarkan ketidakadilan gender pada tokoh perempuan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan struktural. Dalam penelitian ini penulis menggunakan teknik baca, teknik catat, dan teknik pustaka. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis data kualitatif meliputi reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan simpulan. Hasil penelitian adalah sebagai berikut. Pertama, fakta cerita dalam novel Wanita di Jantung Jakarta karya Korrie Layun Rampan terdiri atas alur, tokoh dan penokohan dan latar. Alur yang terdapat dalam novel ini adalah alur campuran. Tokoh dan penokohan dalam cerita ini mempunyai peranan sebagai tokoh utama yaitu Sumarsih dan tokoh tambahan yaitu Sumarto, Tantono, Karsono, Suwarto dan Pitak Sastra, dengan penokohan yaitu tokoh protagonis Sumarsih dan Sumarto, dan tokoh antagonis Tantono, Karsono, Suwarto dan Pitak Sastra. Latar dalam cerita ini berada di Jakarta. Kedua, ketidakadilan genderpada tokoh perempuan Sumarsih yaitu Streotipe (Pelabelan Negatif) Sumarsih dianggap peselingkuh dan Sumarsih ingin di jual oleh suaminya sendiri karena Sumarsih cantik, Marjinalisasi (Peminggiran) Sumarsih dianggap kurang wawasan dan pengalaman karena itu gampang untuk ditipu, Subordinasi (Penomorduaan) Sumarsih dipaksa menikah dan harus meninggalkan bangku kuliahnya, Kekerasan (Violence) Sumarsih mengalami kekerasan fisik dan juga non fisik, dan Beban Ganda, Sumarsih pencari nafkah atas hidupnya sendiri setelah bercerai dan diceraikan. ABSTRACTThis research aims to describe story facts, and gender injustice to a female character named Sumarsih in a novel Wanita di Jantung Jakarta by Korrie Layun Rampan. This research using the qualitative library method with a descriptive approach, that is to obtain information and the description of female figures in a novel Wanita di Jantung Jakarta based on gender injustice in a female leaders. This research using structural approach. In this research the author uses reading technique, note technique, and library technique. Data analysis techniques used in this study is the analysis of qualitative data including reduction of data, presentation of data and conclusions. The results of the study are as follows. First. Story facts in novel Wanita di Jantung Jakarta by Korrie Layun Rampan consists of plot, character and characterization and background. The flow found in this novel is a mixed groove. Character and characterization in this novel has a role as the main character namely Sumarsih and additional figures namely Sumarto, Tantono, Karsono, Suwarto, and Pitak Sastra, by characterizing the protagonist Sumarsih and Sumarto, and antagonist character Tantono, Karsono, Suwarto and Pitak Sastra. The background in this story is in Jakarta. Second. gender injustice to Sumarsih female leaders that is Stereotype (negative labeling), Sumarsih considered an cheater and Sumarsih she wanted to sell by her husband because she was beautiful, Marginalization, Sumarsih considered insufficient insight and experience because it was easy to cheat, Subordination (nomination), Sumarsih was forced to get married and have to leave college, Violence, Sumarsih experienced physical and non-physical violence, and Double burden, Sumarsih breadwinner for his own life after divorced.
