Abstract

This research aims to get an overview of: metal machine training curriculum; metal machine trainee qualification; the qualifications of trainers (educator) metal machine; metal machine skills practice facilities; the process of metal machine skills training; and competences achieved by the trainee machine metal. The methods used to collect data in this study are: (1) an interview with head of BLK metal machines and instructors to get the data of the curriculum, metal machine practice worksheets, learning methods, evaluation tools; (2) the observation data to get the process of education and training; (3) documentation to get the data infrastructure workshop machinery metal. To keep the validity of qualitative data in this study, performed the triangulation techniques. Input in training consists of instructors; participants of the training; training materials; training tools in the form of the machine with his supporters, machinery and equipment, the infrastructure of the training and Training curriculum-oriented metal machine KKNI. The process of metal machine includes two training activities. Proponents of the theory of practice activities carried out in the room of the theory and practice of the activities carried out in the workshop. Evaluation of products in the study found that the competence achieved are: 50% of the participants achieved 8 competencies; 25% of the participants achieved the 7 competencies; 18.75% of participants achieving 6 competencies; and 6.25% of the participants achieved competency 5 of 8 competencies to be achieved by the participants of the training at the end of training.

Abstract

Purposes of teaching and learning process in schools is to make the students learn about the subyek that has been determined by the curriculum. Teachers as learners serves to direct the students learn about the subyek specified in the curriculum. Cause it between teachers and students should have taken place two-way communication. Learning that occurs in the communication between teachers and students learning media is necessary. There are a variety of instruction media that can be used in teaching subjects in the field of Automotive engineering. Therefore, teachers should be able to select appropriate instruction media. In selecting instructional media, teacher requires some consideration. When teachers can choose appropriate learning media, The effective instruction will be created.

Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of: (1)the problem-based learning (PBL) method; (2)the direct teaching method; (3)the PBL method compared with the direct teaching method, for the low prior knowledge students; (4)the PBL method compared with the direct teaching method, for the high prior knowledge students. This research is a quasi experimental with the pretest-posttest non-equivalent control group design. The independent variabel was teaching method, the score on pre-test as a covariate, and the students. achievement as the dependent variable. The research population comprised year XI students of the Light Vehicle Engineering SMK Muhammadiyah Prambanan, totaling 137 students, divided into four classes. This study used a sample of two XI classes, totaling 64 students. The instrument was an achievement test in the multiple-choice form. The validation was conducted by analyzing the validity of the test items, difficulty level, discrimination index, and the functioning of the detractors. The result was that the 40 items used were all valid and the reliability was high (á=0.921). The data were analyzed using the analysis of covariance (ANCOVA). This study conclude that, in the competence of repairing the cooling system by considering the students score on pre-test as prior knowledge: (1) on the whole, the PBL method is more effective than the direct teaching methods, (2) the students who have high prior knowledge are more effective to be taught using the PBL method than the direct teaching method, (3) the students who have low prior knowledge are not difference in effectiveness to be taught using the PBL method and the direct teaching method, and (4) there is no difference in effectiveness between low prior knowledge students and high prior knowledge students who were taught using the PBL method.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peran serta industri otomotif dalam pengembangan pendidikan kejuruan di SMK khususnya Program Keahlian Teknik Kendaraan Ringan dalam hal:  (1) program praktik industri; (2) komite sekolah; dan (3) pengembangan kurikulum.Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian desktriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Teknik pengambilan data dengan observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Tempat penelitian adalah industri otomotif yang bergerak di bidang jasa perbaikan dan perawatan kendaraan ringan (mobil) dan merupakan bengkel resmi dari beberapa merk kendaraan yang ada di Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. Subjek penelitian adalah seseorang yang memiliki wewenang dalam menjalin kerja sama dengan pihak di luar perusahaan, dalam hal ini subjek penelitiannya adalah kepala bengkel atau manager sejumlah 7 orang. Teknik analisis data dengan deskriptif kualitatif  model interaktif dari Huberman.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) partisipasi industri dalam pelaksanaan program praktik industri sudah baik; (2) partisipasi industri otomotif dalam komite sekolah belum maksimal; (3) partisipasi industri otomotif dalam pengembangan kurikulum belum maksimal, karena baru ada satu indutri otomotif ikut dalam pengembangan kurikulum di SMK.

Abstract

The purpose of this study (1) to founds progress learning active, couse system injection fuel gasoline for students vocational high scool Muhammadiyah Cangkringan Sleman Yogyakarta for students class XII withmethod inkuiri learning strategy (2) for increase the results of study coorse system injection fuel gasoline for students class XII techniave automotive velicle at SMK Muhammadiyah Cangkringan SlemanYogyakarta with learning inkuiri strategy. Research hipotesis (1) The study applied method inkuiri can increase the result. Learning student in course system injection fuel gasoline an class XII technique engineering vocational high school Muhammadiyah Cangkringan Sleman.This research was apply at vocational high school Muhammadiyah Cangkringan  year 2014/2014. Exactly date on march 19 2014 until September 23 2014. Subject topic of discussion in this research is students class XII TKR A 24 totalistudents, type of  this research class activity. Technique, observation, documentary. This instrument method experiment was on class XII TKR B vocatioral high school Muhammadiyah Cangkringan Sleman Yogyakarta. The validity question was get frompal product moment korelasion. Based on the result calculated from each of  question the cycle was valid. The reability questions was ged alpha abbreviation. Based on analysis was get coefsieent interval at cycle I 0,  3 ,cycle II 0, 3 and cycle III 0,829 has reliable, technique analysis data with quantitative analisis, analisis for student active had include average. Points and reserve power.Based on result research got result (1) the study was use method inkuiri study get progress the student more active in subject system injection fuel gasoline at vocational high school muhammadiyah cangkringan sleman, for class XII tenslas was show from data on cycle I the students has active from percentage cale 37,12 (2) the studies has used method study inkuiri got valid up learning result students in subject system injector fuel gasoline on class XII TKR vocational high school muhammadiyah cangkringan on cycle I scale percentage 70,41  got significant percentage progress on cycle II , scale percentage 7 ,2  . and once again got significant progress on cycle III became 8 ,2 scale percentage.

Abstract

   This study aimed  to determine the level of the pedagogic competence of the final year students of Mechanical Engineering Education of Sarjanawiyata Tamansiswa University. This study is descriptive research. The study was conducted in Mechanical Engineering Education Sarjanawiyata Tamansiswa University in Yogyakarta  and The Vocational Educational School that became a partner in the implementation of the PPL II. The population were students of The Mechanical Engineering Education of Sarjanawiyata Tamansiswa University who were implemented the PPL II in odd semester academic year 2013/2014 as many as 92 people. Data collected  using the questionnaire method. As the data source is SMK students, students of Mechanical Engineering Education of Sarjanawiyata Tamansiswa University and teacher as PPL II tutor. Analysis using descriptive statistics. The results show that the pedagogic competence of the final year students of The Mechanical Engineering Education of Sarjanawiyata Tamansiswa University are; 1) according to the students of Mechanical Engineering Education of Sarjanawiyata Tamansiswa University is in “good” category with an average value of 78%; 2) according to the students SMK is in “very good” category with an average value of  82%; and 3) according to teacher as PPL II tutor is in “good” categories with an average value of 77 %. This suggests that the provision granting pedagogical competence for the student of mechanical engineering UST Yogyakarta through Courses Education Group in general has been good and should continue to be improved in all aspects, so as to reach the level of competence in the very good category.

Abstract

The aims of this research are: (1) to know what the application of  jigsaw learning approaches can enhance the student’s activeness especially on the motor  automotive lesson; and (2) to know what the application of  jigsaw learning approaches can enhance the academic result of student especially on the motor  automotive lesson. The hypothesis of this research is a cooperative learning Jigsaw Model which can increase students  activeness and results of the study on student motor automotive at X grade SMK Muhammadiyah Cangkringan.This research was conducted at SMK Muhammadiyah Cangkringan on February 17th until March 27th, 2014. The subjects in this study are students of X grade TKR B of 24 students. The type of this research was an action research (PTK). The data collection technique used observation sheets, test techniques, and documentation. Test instrument was implemented in class of X TKR SMK Muhammadiyah Cangkringan. The validity of question task was obtained from test results of product moment correlation. The analysis of cycle I, II, III  was stated valid based on each item of 5 questions task of test. Reliability was obtained using cronbach alpha formula which was obtained based on the analysis of Interval coefficient cycles I which interpretation high level with 0.687, cycle II interpretation high level of 0.734, and cycle III high interpretation level 0.712. Data analysis techniques used by a percentage to the activeness of the study and quantitative analysis techniques which include the average absorbance values.The result of the analysis can be described as follows: (1) the learning model used the jigsaw can increase the activeness of the learners on learning subjects of automotive motor X grade SMK Muhammadiyah Cangkringan, Sleman. The  average activeness of the students was on the cycle I of 72.52 rise to 76.02  on cycle II, and cycle III becomes 82.57; and (2) learning activity used jigsaw model can improve the learning results of the jigsaw students on automotive motor subjects of  X grade SMK Muhammadiyah Cangkringan, Sleman. It can be seen from the average value of study on pre-test 67.33 rise on post-test cycle I became 74.75, on cycle II becomes 78.45 and cycle III became 83.75, whereas if viewed from the pre-absorbance test increased by 25% following the action on the cycle I of 62.5%, rise in cycle II becomes 79.17% and cycle III becomes 95.83%.

Abstract

The objectives of this study were to describe (1) the use of jigsaw could improve learning activeness and (2) the use of jigsaw could improve learning achievement of steer system. This study was an action research. Data collection techniques used test and observation. Data analysis techniques used descriptive and quantitative analysis. This study shows that (1) the use of jigsaw could improve learning activeness. The learning activeness of cycle I was in low category, cycle II was in high category, and cycle III was in very high category. (2) The use of jigsaw could improve learning achievement of steer system. The improvement could be seen from the average score of pre cycle was 66.5, cycle I was 71.5, cycle II was 74.5, and cycle III was 89.5.

Abstract

This study aimed to improve: (1) learning activeness and (2) learning achievement of electrical system subject by using demonstration teaching method. The type of this study was an action research. The research subject was the twelveth grade students of SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Bambanglipuro in academic year 2016/2017, while the subject was learning activeness and learning achievement. The research was held on July 2016 by using three cycles. The research instruments were observation guideline and test. The test validity used conctrutc validity. Data analysis techniques used descriptive analysis and quantitative to know the percentage of learning activeness and learning achievement. This study shows that (1) the use of demonstration could improve learning activeness. The percentage of learning activeness in pre cycle was 64.84%, improved in cycle I was 74.38%, cycle II was 74.38%, and cycle III was 88.29%. (2) The use of demonstration could improve learning achievement of electrical system subject. The mean score of learning achievement of pre cycle was 54.84 with 5 students (15.62%) who were completed in learning, cycle I was 70.78 with 10 students (31.25%) who were completed in learning, cycle II was 74.53 with 22 students (68.75%) who were completed in learning, and cycle III was 78.59 with 27 students (84.4%) who were completed in learning.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to improve the activeness and learning outcome of class XI TKR students of SMK Muhammadiyah Gampingin the academic year of 2014/2015 by applying the discussion method with assist media of animation on the Engine Fuel System subject.This study was a classroom action research conducted by applying the discussion method with assist media of animationin SMK Muhammadiyah Gamping in the academic year of 2014/2015. There were 28 students as the subjects of this study. This study was conducted in three cycles, in which every cycle consisted of four stages: planning, implementation of action, observation, and reflection. The techniques applied in collecting data were observation sheet to measure the students’ learning activeness, and the instrument of test in the form of multiple choice questions divided into pre-test and post-test to measure the improvement of the students’ learning outcome.The result showed that the application of the discussion method with assist media of animation could increase the students’ activeness and learning outcome in the Engine Fuel System subject of class XI SMK Muhammadiyah Gamping. It could be seen from the average number of the students’ activeness on cycle I that was 42,85%, increased to 48,72% on cycle II, then itreached up to 57,64% on cycle III. Mean while, the average number of the learning outcome on cycle I was 43,92 with the lowest score of 35, the highest score of 75, and there were only two students who passed the minimum completeness criteria KKM. The average number increased on the cycle II, reaching up to 65,35 with the lowest score of 55, the highest score 75, and seven students passed the KKM. Then, on cycle III, it increased again to the number of 76,25 with the lowest score of 65, the highest score of 85, and 25 out of 28 students passed the KKM. Thus, it can be concluded that the application of the discussion method with assist media of animation can improve the students’ activeness and learning outcome in the Motor Fuel System subject of class XI SMK Muhammadiyah Gamping.
