Abstract

The level of student ability in solving economic math problems is very less. Though very crucial understanding to learn the application of mathematics in economic problems. The purpose of this research is to know the application of problem-based learning model which is applied in the lecture of economic mathematics to the understanding of student learning. The method used is quasi-experiment pre-test design post-test control group design with data collection using test and attitude questionnaire. Samples were 30 students of experimental class and 31 students of the control class. The findings indicate that problem-based learning (experimental class) is better than the expository (class of control) on understanding in economic mathematics learning. Not only that, students in the experimental group show a positive attitude toward the learning of economic mathematics. The findings of this study have implications for encouraging lecturers learn how to understand environmental mathematics. Keywords:  Problem-Based Learning, Understanding, Attitude.

Abstract

The objective of the study was to develop a college student worksheet using Edmodo as a learning support tool and to know the effectiveness of peer tutor learning model applied in the learning of economic mathematics on motivation and attitude. Research used for quantitative approach and quasi-experiment method to collect data applying test and questionnaire. The sample in the study is a second-year student enrolled in a college in Serang - Banten. The sample comes from two classes. One class was used for the control group of 29 students; one for the exploratory group of 40 students. In the control group, students were taught only in a personal learning environment using peer tutor models whereas experimental groups studied through peer tutor models in the classroom were supported by student worksheet learning using Edmodo. The findings show that college student worksheet's use is better than traditional learning. That is, students in the experimental group not only outperformed them in the control group in the learning outcomes, but they also showed a higher learning motivation. Although students in both groups did not differ in their attitudes toward peer tutor models, students in the experimental group expressed positive attitudes toward Edmodo.

Abstract

Upaya yang dilakukan oleh guru dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar matematika adalah dengan memilih metode pembelajaran yang sesuai dengan tujuan yang ingin dicapai. Salah satu metode pembelajaran adalah dengan menggunakan pendekatan PAKEM (Pembelajaran Aktif, Kreatif, Efektif dan Menyenangkan). Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh pembelajaran matematika dengan pendekatan PAKEM terhadap hasil belajar siswa, dan untuk mengetahui sikap siswa terhadap pembelajaran matematika tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dan metode quasi-experiment desain yang digunakan adalah non-equivalent control group. Pada desain ini, kelompok kelas yang sudah ada kemudian dipilih secara tidak acak untuk menentukan kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Kelas eksperimen diberi perlakuan pembelajaran matematika dengan menggunakan PAKEM sedangkan kelas kontol diberi perlakuan pembelajaran konvensional. Hasil penelitian adalah siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran matematika dengan pendekatan PAKEM lebih baik daripada siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran konvensional. Selanjutnya siswa pada umumnya menunjukkan sikap yang positif terhadap pembelajaran matematika dengan pendekatan PAKEM.

Abstract

Mathematical communication ability is an important ability that the students must possess. In this study, learning assisted with Macromedia flash MX was used to increase students’ mathematical communication ability. Aside from the use of software, the role of supporting tools in learning was also investigated. Subjects were 65 Vocational Schools (SMK) students divided into 32 students in control class (learning assisted with Macromedia flash MX) and 33 students in the experimental class (learning assisted with Macromedia flash MX and additional supporting tools, MFMX+). Mathematical communication ability was evaluated through written test. Results showed an increase in mathematical communication ability both in the control and experimental class, albeit to a different degree. Students in MFMX+ class showed a higher mathematical communication ability improvement compared to students in control class. Learning assisted with Macromedia flash MX improved mathematical communication ability and supporting tools maximize benefits that can be gained from the use of Macromedia flash MX.

Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas tentang penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif pendekatan struktural Think Pair Square (TPS) untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar matematika siswa di kelasVIII-4 MTs Al Huda Pekanbaru pada materi pokok Bangun Ruang Sisi Datar. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran kooperatif pendekatan Struktural Think Pair Square (TPS) tersebut dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa di kelasVIII-4 MTs Al Huda Pekanbaru pada semester genap TP 2012/2013. Bentuk penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) kolaboratif dengan subjek penelitian adalah seluruh siswa di kelasVIII-4 MTs Al Huda Pekanbaru Tahun Pelajaran 2012/2013. Penelitian dilakukan sebanyak 2 siklus atau 8 kali pertemuan. Dari analisa data diketahui bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif pendekatan Struktural Think Pair Square (TPS) dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar matematika siswa di kelasVIII-4 MTs Al Huda Pekanbaru pada materi pokok Bangun Ruang Sisi Datar. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa Model Kooperatif TPS memberikan dampak positif terhadap  prestasi belajar siswa. Kata kunci: Kooperatif, Struktural, Think Pair Square, Hasil Belajar.

Abstract

The decline in student achievement in school is the effect of the lack of attention of parents so that significantly low student learning motivation. The research objectives are; 1) to determine the influence of parents attention on improving student achievement in school. 2) to know the influence of learning motivation to improve student learning. 3) to simultaneously influence the influence of parents attention and motivation to learn to improve learning achievement. 4) to know the correlation between parental attention and learning motivation to improve student achievement. The method used is descriptive verification method with ex post facto and survey approach. The instruments used are questionnaires distributed to students. The results of this research are; 1) there is influence of parent attention to improvement of student achievement in school. 2) there is influence of learning motivation to improve student learning. 3) there is influence simultaneously influence of parent attention and motivation learn to increase learning achievement. 4) there is a correlation between the attention of parents and the motivation to learn to improve student achievement. Keywords: Parents attention, learning motivation, learning achievement

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui penerapan pembelajaran struktural think pair share (TPS) yang diterapkan dalam pembelajaran matematika mengenai kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa SMP. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dan metode quasi-experiment untuk mengumpulkan data menggunakan tes komunikasi matematis. Sampel dalam penelitian adalah siswa SMP kelas VII semester genap di Kabupaten Sumedang. Sampel berasal dari dua kelas. Satu kelas digunakan untuk kelompok kontrol sebanyak 25 siswa; satu lagi untuk kelompok eksperimen sebanyak 28 siswa. Pada kelompok kontrol, siswa hanya diajarkan dalam lingkungan belajar dengan menggunakan ekpositori sedangkan kelompok eksperimental dipelajari melalui model pembelajaran TPS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa:1) terdapat perbedaan pencapaian kemampuan komunikasi matematis secara signifikan antara siswa yang belajar dengan TPS dengan siswa yang belajar dengan pembelajaran ekspositori; 2) peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa kelas eksperimen (TPS) lebih baik daripada kelas kontrol (expository). Implikasi pendekatan pembelajaran TPS adalah dapat digunakan sebagai salah satu alternatif pembelajaran untuk melatih kerja sama siswa. Penerapan pembelajaran TPS guru harus memperhatikan alokasi waktu, membimbing dan mengarahkan aktivitas siswa dan tahapan-tahapan dalam pembelajaran, sehingga tujuan pembelajaran dapat meningkatkan kompetensi siswa dalam belajar matematika.

Abstract

As the development of technologies either directly or indirectly, can change a person in communicating, socializing and learning, this is a challenge for educators in order to optimally use technology and can facilitate interactions with learners in the learning process of teaching both face-to-face direct or indirectly (online) so that the indicators in units of of events lectures and syllabus can be achieved. The goal of the research is: 1) to know whether economic mathematics learning with Edmodo is more effective compared to conventional learning against the communication of mathematics; 2) to find out if students learn using Edmodo positive towards the learning of mathematical economics. quantitative research methods with quasi-experiment, the research design used was a nonequivalent control group design: give two different treatment of two groups, the experimental classes (Edmodo) and control classes (conventional). Techniques of collection and analysis of quantitative data by using test of normality, test its homogeneity, test the equality of two averages, and test results of the study are; 1) learning economic mathematics using Edmodo is more effective (experimentation) of learning without using Edmodo (conventional); 2) students studying using Edmodo positive towards the learning of mathematical economics.
