Abstract

There are many benefits of sugarcane (Saccharum officinarum L.) as a sugar source to fulfil human staples food. The use of sugarcane bud chips is one of cultivation technology in order to achieve national sugar self-sufficiency program. Bagasse mulch kept soil moisture and increased organic matter in the soil thathas positive impact on sugarcne growth. The experiment was conducted in Teaching Farm of the State Polytechnic of Lampung, from November 2015 until April 2016. The experiment used Randomized Block Design (RBD) in factorial pattern, consisting of two factors. The first factor is the treatment of bud chips position consisting of 3 levels i.e. top bud chip, middle bud chip, and bottom bud chips. The second factor is the bagasse mulch treatment consisting of 4 levels i.e. control, 3 ton.ha-1, 6 ton.ha-1, and 9 ton.ha-1. The objectives of the study were to obtain optimal growth among bud chips, optimal bagasse mulch, and to know the interaction between the bud chips position and the bagasse treatments. The results showed that the top bud chips were better than  middle bud chips and bottom bud chips. The optimal rate of bagasse mulch was 3 ton.ha-1. Abstract

Arbuscular Mycorrhiza Fungi (AMF) is a form of  mutualistic symbiosis between fungi and plant roots. FMA existence in  soil is influenced by several agricultural activities such as tilling and fertilizing. The purpose of this study (1) Obtaining  data on the number of FMA in each treatment and conservation tillage . (2) Knowing  the types FMA in each treatment and conservation tillage planting season  to 29. The study was a randomized block design (RAK) , arranged as factorial (2x3), with three replications. The first factor is the intensive tillage (T1), no-tillage (Zero Tillage) (T2) Minimum tillage (Minimum Tillage), and  Land Intensive (Full Tillage) (T3); and the second factor is without fertilizer N (N0) and fertilizer application of 100 kg N ha-1 (N1), and  Fertilizer of 200 kg N ha-1 (N2). The method used in this study is a description method by observation techniques, the method used for the isolation of spores of strain engineering castings and followed by centrifugation. Observations were made using a microscope binoculars and digital camera, the spores are observed then grouped based on their morphological characters, identification of mycorrhizal done using a guide book "Working with mycorrhizas in Forestry and Agriculture" and reaffirmed by using INVAM website.  Based on results  of research and discussion can be concluded. The number of spores in the soil no tillage without nitrogen doses is 1,333 at doses 100 kg N spore number is 1,253, and as high as 1,648 spores at dose of 200 kg N. The number of spores on minimum tillage  200 kg of nitrogen dose was 271, on 100 kg dose was 520 spores, and without nitrogen fertilizer contained spores 780. at most that  intensive tillage highest number of spores on spore number without nitrogen fertilizer is 4.078, and the number of spores 1,124 at the dose of 100 kg nitrogen, 941 the number of spores nitrogen dose of 200 kg. There are four genera of spores discovered in minimum tillage with various doses Nitrogen fertilizer is the genus Glomus, Acaulospora, Gigaspora, and Scutelospora. Genus most obtained is Glomus and Acaulospora. Type spores were found from 4 genera dominated by genus Glomus with a variety of different types.

Abstract

The use of bud chip seeds in meeting the needs of quality seeds in an effort to increase the production and yield of sugar cane. The use of bagasse will be a source of nutrients for plants, so that the optimum cane growth and increase sugar cane production. The objective of this study was to obtain the highest yield between bud chip position, bagasse mulch dose, and to know the interaction between bud chip budding treatment with bagasse mulch treatment on sugar cane rendement.. This research was conducted in teaching farm of Politeknik Negeri Lampung from June 2016 until February 2017. The experiments were performed using Randomized Block Design (RBD) in factorial pattern consisting of two factors. The first factor is the position of bud chips consisting of 3 levels i.e. top, middle, and base. The second factor is bagasse mulch dosage consisting of 4 levels i.e. 0 ton.ha-1, 3 ton.ha-1, 6 ton.ha-1, and 9 ton.ha-1. The result of this research showed that the position of bud chips on the top stem has an effect on the number of stem and the productivity of sugarcane compared to the midle and base stem position. The position of bud chips treatment result showed no effect on the yield of sugarcane. The dose of bagasse 3 ton.ha-1, 6 ton.ha-1, and 9 ton.ha-1 showed no effect on the stem diameter, the number of stem, and the rendement of sugarcane, but affected by the dose mulch of bagasse 0 ton. ha-1. The dose of bagasse 3 ton.ha-1 showed the best effect on the number of stem per row and the productivity of sugarcane compared to all bagasse mulch treatments. Abstract

Characterization of morphophysiology and oil yield of 10 patchouli genotypes (Pogostemon cablinBenth.) aims to test the morphology and physiology character of nine genotypes Aceh patchouli and one comparative clone (Lhokseumawe), obtain high yield oil clones (weight plant and essential oil content), and obtain genetic and phenotypic variabilities that can be used as a new genotype selection indicators. The research was conducted at Experimental Field and Plant Laboratory of the State Polytechnic of Lampung in April until November 2016. This research used Randomized Block Design (RBD) with 10 treatment levels and 3 replications.The LSI test results on the physiological character of the nine genotypes and one comparative clone showed that NPL 9 genotypes superior to the variables of the angle of petiole, chlorophyll content, leaf area, specific leaf area, and leaf area index. The NPL 9 genotypes resulted higher yield and rendement yields than other genotypes tested and one comparator, that was 2,36%. The character of stem production and rendement has a genetic variant value greater than the environmental variant. For genetic variability and phenotypic variability in the variables observed relatively uniform so that can not be used as an indicator of selection.   Keywords: Aceh patchouli, leaf character, selection indicator, variability of genotype, variability of phenotype

Abstract

Growing medium influence plant growth and development. The purpose of this study was to determine the best growing medium used in the nursery of pepper (Piper nigrum L.). The experiment was conducted by using a randomized block design (RBD) with treatment: P0: subsoil, P1: subsoiland manure (2: 1), P2: subsoil and sand (2: 1), P3: subsoil, manure and sand (2: 1: 1), P4: topsoil, P5: topsoil and manure (2: 1), P6: top soil and sand (2: 1), P7: topsoil, manure and sand (2: 1:1). There are 8 treatment, 4 replicates of each treatment was repeated. Each experimental unit comprises 3 cuttings, cuttings planted each polybag, so there are 32 experimental units  with overall there are 96 polybags. Based on the results of the study there were significant differences among the medium on the growth observed variables: shoot height, number of leaves, shoot diameter, shoot dry weight and root dry weight. Subsoil + manure (2: 1), subsoil + manure + sand (2: 1: 1), topsoil, topsoil + manure (2: 1), topsoil + manure + sand (2: 1: 1) provide good growth on cuttings of pepper, so it can be used in the nursery cuttings pepper.Keywords :pepper cutting, planting medium, seedling growthPermalink: http://jurnal.polinela.ac.id/index.php/AIP/article/view/22

Abstract

Sugarcane is one of the main sugar-producing commodities in Indonesia. The one of the efforts to increase the production and yield of sugarcane can be done by fertilization using organic fertilizer and the use of improved varieties. The aim of this research are to get optimal rate of solid organic fertilizer, the best sugarcane variety, and interaction between solid organic fertilizer rate and variety on productivity of sugarcane. The study was conducted in December 2015 until December 2016 at Teaching Farm and Chemical Analysis Laboratory, State P olytechnic of Lampung. The research used Factorial Random Block Design method, with two factors. The first factor is the rate of solid organic fertilizer (Control, 1.000 kg.ha-1, 1.500 kg.ha-1, and 2.000 kg.ha-1), whereas the second factor is sugarcane varieties (GMP 3, GMP 19, and SS 57). The data of the research were analyzed by analysis of variance and  if the result was significantly different then continued by using LSD test of 5% level. The results showed that there was interaction between the use of solid organic fertilizer 1000 kg.ha-1 and GMP 3 varieties on variable length of sugarcane stem. The productivity of sugarcane crops can be improved by the application of 1000 kg.ha-1 solid organic fertilizer which influences the variables of sugarcane quantity per lube and the number of sugarcane segments. The best variety that can be used to increase the productivity of sugarcane is GMP 3.Keywords: solid organic fertilizer, sugarcane productivity, sugarcane varieties

Abstract

The aim of this research is to analyse the effect of the number of buds per stem cutting on vegetative growth, especially from germination phase to budding phase of sugarcane GMP2 and GMP3 varieties. Research carried out in the garden practices of The State Polytechnic of Lampung, Rajabasa, Bandar Lampung in November 2014 to February 2015. The research method used a factorial randomized block design, consisting of two factors. The first factor was the sugarcane varieties, i.e. GMP2 and GMP3. The second factor was the amount of buds from stem cutting which consists of 4 levels: 1, 2, 3, and 4 buds per stem cutting. Based on the results of this research there was no interaction between variety and number of buds from stem cutting. Varieties affected on plant height, number of leaves, number of tillers, length of roots shoots (butters roots) and roots length rope (rope system roots). Abstract

Cocoa (Theobroma cacao L.) is one of the estate crop commodities that is currently being developed because the cocoa plant is one of the export commodities that produce a lot of foreign exchange and has a role as high value sector besides oil and gas. Cocoa farming can increase the income of cocoa farmers, create and expand employment. This experiment used Randomized Block Design (RBD) which consisted of 4 treatments that was repeated 6 times (control, 1 tablet.polybag-1, 2 tablet.polybag-1, 3 tablet.polybag-1). This study was conducted to determine the best rate of compound fertilizer tablets for cocoa seedlings growth. The data obtained were analyzed by analysis of variance at 95% accuracy level. The results showed that there was a compound effect on the growth of cocoa seedlings to the variable of seed height, stem diameter, leaf number, leaf area, dry root weight, and total dry weight of stalk. Abstract

The sugarcane (Saccharum officinarum L.) is the plant that worth high economical enough, because is the main raw material in manufacture of sugar. One of the efforts to increase the sugarcane production is applying organic fertilizer that can support the growth of sugarcane. The organic fertilizer is fertilizer thats mostly or entirely consist of organic material that from plants or animals that have through the decomposition process, its can be solid or liquid which is used to supply organic material to improve the physical, chemical and biological soil. Its carried in the garden at Politeknik Negeri Lampung in September 2014 until January 2015. The experiment were performed using a randomized design group (RDG) factorial design which consists of two treatment factor is dosage of organic fertilizer and sugarcane varieties. The first was treatment    dose of organic fertilizer that consists of  5 levels, it’s 0 kg.ha-1 (control), 500 kg.ha-1, 1000 kg.ha-1, 1500 kg.ha-1, and 2000 kg.ha-1. The second factor is a sugarcane varieties, itsGMP 2 and GMP 3 varieties.  The study aims to get the optimal dose of organic fertilizer (Ghaly Organik), the best sugarcane varieties and knowing the interaction between the treatmenton vegetative growth of sugarcane. The result showed that the optimal dose that was applied on GMP 2 and GMP 3 varieties is 1000 kg.ha-1. GMP 2 Sugarcane varieties have better vegetative growth as compare with GMP 3sugarcane varieties.
