Analisis Tipografi pada Logotype Band Forgotten

Abstract

Abstrak Forgotten merupakan band asal kota Bandung yang beraliran death metal. Band ini telah memiliki beberapa album yang cukup sukses. Salah satu faktor yang turut berperan penting dalam album-album Forgotten adalah desain sampul album. Sampul album merupakan identitas dan pesan dari musik yang dibawakan oleh Forgotten. Dalam sampul album, terdapat salah satu elemen visual yaitu Tipografi. Salah satu peran tipografi dalam sampul album Forgotten adalah sebagai logotype dari band. Yang menarik, dari lima album yang telah dirilis Forgotten yaitu “Future Syndrome” (1997), “Obsesi Mati” (2000), “Tuhan Telah Mati” (2001), “Tiga Angka Enam” (2003) dan “Laras Perlaya” (2011) adalah tampilan logotype band yang selalu berbeda. Perubahan logotype Forgotten disebabkan oleh beberapa faktor seperti adanya perubahan selera, transformasi musik dan pergantian personil yang dialami oleh band Forgotten. Perubahan ini berakibat pada munculnya kesan visual yang berbeda-beda dari masing-masing logotype di setiap sampul albumnya. Apalagi logotype band dengan genre death metal memiliki kecendrungan yang unik, dekoratif, bahkan sulit untuk dibaca. Oleh karena itu untuk mengetahui kesan visual yang dimunculkan oleh setiap logotype akan dilakukan penelitian dengan pendekatan tipografi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah selain untuk mengetahui perubahan logotype dari kelima sampul album yang telah dirilis oleh Forgotten juga ingin mengetahui kesan visual terhadap tipografi terkait dengan prinsip kejelasan (legibility), keterbacaan (readability) dan kemampuannya untuk dilihat pada jarak tertentu (visibility).  Kata Kunci: Sampul Album, Tipografi, Logotype, Forgotten  Abstract Forgotten is a band from Bandung, the death metal genre. The band has had some fairly successful album. One of important factor in albums Forgotten is the album cover design. The album cover are the identity and the message of the music performed by the Forgotten. In the cover of the album, there is one visual element called Typography. One role of typography in Forgotten album cover is a logotype of the band. Interestingly, there is change of logotype in five albums that have been released Forgotten namely "Future Syndrome" (1997), "Obsession Dead" (2000), "God is Dead" (2001), "Three Figures Six" (2003) and "Laras Perlaya" ( 2011). Forgotten logotype changes caused by several factors such as the changing tastes, music and transformation experienced by the personnel changes the band Forgotten. These changes resulted in the emergence of the visual impression different from each logotype in all the album artwork. Moreover logotype band with death metal genre has a tendency of unique, decorative, even difficult to read. Therefore, to determine the visual impression that is raised by each logotype will do research with the approach of typography. The purpose of this study was to assess changes in addition to the logotype of the fifth album cover that has been released by Forgotten also want to know the visual impression of the typography related to the principle of clarity (legibility), legibility (readability) and its ability to be seen at a certain distance (visibility).Keywords: Album Cover, Tipography, Logotype, Forgotten

Abstract

Assalamah Playgroup-Kindergarten as one of the early childhood institution seeks to develop innovative learning models by using interactive learning cd developed by teachers. The purpose of this study was to determine the validity of the media developed by teachers and to know how big the effectiveness of instructional media used in learning activities.The method used in this research is to use an experimental method that is pretest-posttest control group design that compares the learning achievement of children before and after treated learning by using power point learning cd and compared between the experimental group and the control group.Results from this study are media generated was declared invalid. It is based on data obtained from experts and materialvalidator. In addition to a valid media used in learning with religious themes on Assalamah Playgroup-Kindergartenin Ungaran also effective in the learning activities, it can be seen from the rise in learning outcomes among students, especially in kindergarten B.

Abstract

Descriptive Study of the Application of Deaf Children Language Development in TLO (Taman Latihan dan Observasi) Class in Semarang State Special School. Faculty of Education. Semarang State University. Indonesia. The Application of deaf children language ability development is a teaching-learning activity focusing on deaf children language acquisition through approaches, methods and media adapted to the children condition and needs. The research aims to 1) describe deaf children language development, 2) explain the application of deaf children language ability development in TLO (Taman Latihan dan Observasi) class in Semarang State Special School, 3) explain push-pull factors of the application of deaf children language ability development in TLO (Taman Latihan dan Observasi) class in Semarang State Special School. The research employed a qualitative descriptive method to understand the phenomenon happened by the research subjects, namely the language they possess, and push-pull factors of deaf children language ability. The subjects of the research are deaf students at the age of 3-5 in the TLO class of Semarang State Special School. The data of the research were collected by observation, interview, and documentation. They were analyzed by data reduction, data presentation, verification, and conclusion. The results show that most of all deaf children in TLO class were cried at post delivery as normal do. The fact that they have no stimulation response is a symptom their parents observe. Therefore, the push-pull factor here is the active role of the parents. Hence, there are three conclusions according to the research, namely the cry of deaf children at post delivery as normal do, heart to heart approach done by teachers and the active role of the parents in deaf language development. It is suggested that the teachers are expected to be more creative to conduct teaching activity. In addition, the community support is needed while government and education department formulate learning curriculum for special need children. Abstract

Abstract

Abstrak Tapis merupakan kain khas asal Lampung yang terbuat dari tenunan benang kapas berwarna emas dan perak. Sebagai produk budaya, tapis memiliki visualisasi yang khas. Berdasarkan observasi, pemanfaatan tapis yang memiliki representasi nilai dan nilai estetika tinggi masih terbatas pada media dan waktu tertentu. Hal ini tentu saja menimbulkan kekhawatiran tentang pelestarian dan pengembangan tapis karena keterbatasan pemanfaatannya. Contoh pemanfaatan tapis yang dapat dilakukan adalah upaya eksplorasi visual kedalam bentuk produk budaya lain yang lekat dengan keseharian masyarakat. Salah satu produk budaya yang dapat dirancang adalah huruf. Huruf merupakan media komunikasi tulisan yang sebenarnya telah lama ada dan berkembang. Di Indonesia, komunikasi tulisan mayoritas  menggunakan huruf latin. Penggunaan huruf latin di Indonesia dapat dilihat mulai dari cara manual hingga sudah dilakukan secara digital. Huruf digital atau disebut dengan font saat ini banyak digunakan pada perangkat-perangkat digital/elektronik. Perkembangan desain font juga terus berkembang karena kebutuhan akan penyampaian pesan maupun kesan estetis pada suatu karya juga berkembang. Hal inilah yang kemudian menginspirasi lahirnya kemungkinan-kemungkinan bentuk visual baru font khususnya yang berbasis huruf Latin. Tapis, dengan kekayaan estetik pada visualnya dapat dijadikan sebagai inspirasi dalam menciptakan kemungkinan bentuk baru dari sebuah font yang berbasis pada bentuk huruf latin. Perpaduan visual antara tapis dan karakter huruf latin dapat menghasilkan karakteristik yang khas.  Kata Kunci: Adaptasi, Font, Perancangan, Tapis, Visual  Abstract Tapis from Lampung is a unique fabric made from cotton yarn woven gold and silver. As cultural products, Tapis have a typical visualization. Based on observations, the use of Tapis which has a value of representation and a high aesthetic value is still limited to the media and a certain time. This raises concerns about the preservation and development of the Tapis due to the limited utilization. Examples of the use of Tapis that can be done is a visual exploration efforts into other forms of cultural products attached to everyday people. A cultural product that can be designed is the letter. Letter is a medium of communication that has long been there and growing. In Indonesia, the majority of written communications using Latin letters. The use of the Latin alphabet in Indonesia can be seen from how the user until it is done digitally. Digital letter or called by the current font is widely used in digital devices / electronic. Font design development is also growing because of the need for the delivery of messages as well as the growth of aesthetic impression. This inspired the birth of the possibilities of new visual font forms especially based Latin letters. Tapis, with the wealth of the visual aesthetic can be used as inspiration in creating the possibility of a new font form based. Visual fusion between Tapi and the Latin alphabet characters can produce distinct characteristics.  Keywords: Adaptation, Fonts, Design, Tapis, Visual

Abstract

Sebagai sebuah media, poster sering digunakan sebagai media informasi untuk menyampaikan pesan penggunanya. Petits gateaux merupakan salah satu brand yang menggunakan media poster dalam kegiatan iklannya. Bersama sebuah agensi iklan Pheromone dari Kanada, Petits Gateaux merilis 3 seri poster dengan tema "Petits Gateaux, Cupcake Boutique: Small Cakes, Big Occasions." Yang menaraik, ketiga poster tersebut memiliki kesamaan gaaya komunikasi visual dimana satu sama lain salinag terhubung dan membangun  sebuah kesepahaman mengenai sebuah pesan. Hal ini terlihat dari penggunaan tanda-tanda visual dan relasinya yang digunakan dalam setiap poster. Melalui penelitian singkat ini, penulis akan mencoba memaparkan 3 seri poster Petits Gateaux dan membedah penggunaan dan relasi tanda yang ada pada Petits Gateaux guna mengetahui makna yang terkandung di dalamnya.Kata kunci: Poster, Iklan, Tanda, Petits Gateaux

Abstract

Penelitian ini menganalisis efektivitas koreografi. Metode yang digunakan kuantitatif eksperimen. Subjek penelitian mahasiswa semester 2 yang sedang menempuh kuliah koreografi pada Jurusan Pendidikan Guru Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini Uversitas Negeri Semarang tahun ajaran 2016/2017. Peningkatan belajar kelas eksperimen diperoleh thitung = 27.763 dengan p = 0,000 < 0,05, berarti bahwa ada peningkatan hasil belajar mahasiswa yang signifikan. Hasil analisis uji t diperoleh nilai thitung = -3.486 dengan p value = 0,000 < 0,05 berarti bahwa ada perbedaan hasil belajar yang signifikan antara kelas eksperimen dengan kelas kontrol, menunjukkan kelas eksperimen lebih baik daripada kelas kontrol. Rata-rata gain kelas eksperimen sebesar 0,70 dan kelas kontrol sebesar 0,63. Temuan lain berupa respon mahasiswa 26 (72,2%) memberikan respon menyenangkan. Efektivitas pada pembelajaran koreografi pada bentuk interaktif, inspiratif, menantang, dan memotivasi. Kata Kunci: Pembelajaran, Koreografi, Efektivitas

Abstract

Sampul merupakan elemen penting dan strategis dari sebuah majalah. Salah satu fungsisampul adalah perwakilan isi yang diwujudkan melalui visualisasinya. Sampul majalah SindoWeekly No.26 Tahun VI yang mengangkat headline “Ekspansi Alibaba di Indonesia”menampilkan ilustrasi visual seorang tokoh dengan pakaian khas yang sedang meramaldengan bola kristal berpeta Indonesia. Ilustrasi visual majalah tersebut mengandung beberapatanda visual yang satu sama lain berintegrasi mengkonstruksi sebuah pesan. Hal ini menarikuntuk ditinjau sebagai pembelajaran khususnya bagi perancang desain sampul. Teori semiotikamemiliki kesesuaian sebagai pisau bedah dalam memaknai tanda visual dalam ilustrasi visualsampul majalah ini. Semiotika Roland Barthes dianggap sesuai dengan karakter objekpenelitian untuk mengungkapkan makna denotasi, konotasi, serta mitos.
