Abstract

This research aims to inventory the availability of the plant types as  Apis cerana honeybee’s feed sources    This research was conducted at SMK Kehutanan Negeri Pekanbaru in April - June 2014. The research method includes making example plot, inventory of crops in sample plot, determination of plant species of bee feed source and determination of flowering calendar. Circular observation plots of 0.10 ha are systematically made in two straight lines intersecting perpendicularly to form a four-way South-North-East-West direction where the point of cutting is the point of placement of one honey bee colony in the area of SMK Forestry of Pekanbaru State. In each direction the winds are built four plots with a plot distance of 175 m, so there are 16 plots to represent the optimum flying range + 1.54 ha (radius + 700m). All tree species in the plot were calculated and identified as status of bee feed or not. The inventory for the grass species is done in a sub plot of 0.5 mx 0.5 meters.  The results of the study found 39 species of bee plants with a total of 301 individuals, consisting of 9 types of forestry crops, 21 types of plantation / horticulture, 9 species of grass / grass. Based on the diversity of species, the number and season of different flowering then in SMK Kehutanan Negeri Pekanbaru plant as a source of bee feed is available throughout the year.

Abstract

ABSTRACT One of the governments efforts in maintaining the ecological balance in urban areas is to give an award in the form of "ADIPURA" to the cities judged to meet criteria such as; hygiene, beauty, beauty, comfort, green and other environmental aspects. The purpose of research is to identify the level of understanding of students and employees of the University Lancang Kuning Pekanbaru. Primary data was collected through interviews with respondents using the help of questionnaires (attached). Determination of the respondents were randomized (random sampling) for each faculty (S1). The number of respondents who were taken as many as 30 students and 30 employees. Data obtained from filling the questionnaire will be processed in the following manner; the number of questions in questionnaires of 20 questions. Each question provided three answers for respondents to choose according to their understanding. To quantify the data by using a Likert scale, which is any of respondents who are knowledgeable about Verse (answer "Yes") rated 3, which is not yet fully understood (answered "Doubt") was given a value of 2 and that does not understand (answered "No") by a value of 1. the data obtained will be analyzed descriptively, the depiction of data obtained as it is, without any lawyer-generalisasian. Data will be illustrated through tables or graphs. Based on the research results can be summarized as follows: (1) the level of student understanding of the Lancang Kuning University adipura for high category (33.33%), moderate (56.67%) and low (10%); (2) the level of employees understanding of the Lancang Kuning University adipura for high category (63.33%) and moderate (36.67%). Abstract

 The aims of this study were to identify the type, pattern of distribution and utilization of rattan that produce jernang by people in Bengayauan Village Rantau Langsat District Batang Gangsal Indragiri Hulu Regency Riau Province. The research method was conducted by survey on forest area covered by rattan producing jernang.The data taken include the type of rattan producer jernang, the number of clumps and individuals, the utilization by the community, the way of harvesting, harvesting facilities, local wisdom in the management of rattan producer jernang.  From research conducted in Zones Hamlet Bengayauan there are three (3) species of rattan producers jernang namely:Daemonorops draco, Daemonorops propinqua, Calamus oxleyanus, included into two clans (Daemonorops and Calamus). Found 83 clumps and 1099 individuals comprising D.draco clump and 1019 a total of 77 individuals, D. popinqua by 4 clump and 66 individuals and C.oxleyanus as much as 2 clump and 14 individuals. The density (Daemonorops draco) 84.916 individuals/ha (92.721%), (D.propinqua) 5, 5 individuals/ha (6.005%), (C.oxleyanus) 1.66 individuals/ha (1.274%). The pattern of spread of cane producer D.draco random deployment, deployment  D.propinqua be clustered, while for C. oxleyanus spread uniformly. In the utilization of rattan producer jernang, indigenous peoples adhere to a local wisdom to preserve the plant. Utilization of rattan producer jernang by society, among others: Economic benefits, as a dye, ingredients of medicine, incense and ritual, and magical.

Abstract

ABSTRACTPasak bumi  is one kind of medicinal plants commonly consumed by people and grow in Prohibition of Indigenous Forests Rumbio. Information on the ecological conditions Pasak bumi  in Prohibition of Indigenous Forests Rumbio is important known as an indicator of the presence of Pasak bumi, and their population in the forest. The purpose of this study to analyze the ecological conditions Pasak bumi in  Prohibition of Indigenous Forests Rumbio, and know how to use Pasak bumu conducted by people around the Prohibition of Indigenous Forests Rumbio. The method used in this study was a survey method, the implementation of the research started from the observation, creating a plot, measurement, and data acquisition. The average temperature  in the research location  28,090C, average air humidity 85.38%, and the average light intensity of 582.20 lux, type of soil is  Red Yellow Podzolic, with a pH of 5.5-6.4. Pasak bumi found in site which it is flat and slopes for 15%, with an altitude of 600-750m above sea level.  Pasak bumi grown on sloping ground that is not waterlogged. Communities around the Prohibition of Indigenous Forests Rumbio utilize Pasak bumi from the leaves, stems, bark and roots. The perceived benefits of the Pasak bumi by society is to improve blood circulation, eliminate fatigue, malaria drugs, smooth urination, mouth sores, itching disease medicine, a tonic after childbirth and fever.Keywords: ecology, pasak bumi, plant medicine, public knowledge.

Abstract

One of the sources of air pollutants are carried by most humans is cigarette smoke. Effects of smoking are numerous and dangerous to the health of both active smokers (actors) as well as passive smokers. The habit of smoking by the community of long standing. Smokers are generally carried out by people who are reaching adulthood from various circles, one of which is the student. Cigarette smoke is a pollutant for humans and the surrounding environment. Many diseases have been shown to arise from smoking, either directly or indirectly. This study aimed to: identify the level of dependence of Lancang Kuning University students Pekanbaru to smoking. This research was conducted at the campus of the University of Lancang Kuning. Data were obtained from filling the questionnaire will be processed in the following way Fargerstorm Tolerance Questionnaire Br J Addict. The number of respondents as many as 30 students obtained the degree of dependence on cigarettes ranging from mild, moderate and height / weight. Several factors are thought to affect, among other things such as limited money (still depending on shipment parent), time to smoke limited (for lectures and practicum) and there is an effort to save money. In this study, the students obtained the degree of dependence on cigarettes: lightweight (6.67%), moderate (70%) and high (23.33%).
