Abstract

National fisheries production is not proportional to the increase of the population now, so that the consumption of animal protein needs are not met.For the sake of national fisheries production there is a need for intensive cultivation technology breakthroughs to spur the density in nursery phase ‘rajadanu’ carp (Cyprinus carpio) strain. This experiment aim to determine the appropriate density of rajadanu carp growth in the pond at the nursery phase. The average length of tested fishes is 2.02 cm and the average initial weight is 0.25 g maintained in the out door plot pool of Research Installation for Germ Plasm of the Research and Development Division of Freshwater Fisheries, Cijeruk, Bogor measuring 1x1x1 m with density 100, 150 and 200 fishes/m3 .Each treatment was repeated 3 times. Feed used was a commercial feed containing 28% protein given in 2 times a day as much as 5% of the total weight of fish. The results showed that after 40 days, each treatment showed no significant difference (P> 0.05) with absolute length and weight growth of the absolute highest in nursery density of 200 fishes/m3 of 1.30 ± 0.10 cm and 1.14 ± 0, 18 cm with a daily growth rate of 1.30 ± 0.10% and 4.08 ± 0.55%, and the highest survival at densities 200 fishes/m3 of 92.5 ± 6.55%.

Abstract

Ikan gabus merupakan komoditas ikan air tawar yang bernilai ekonomis tinggi, meskipun ikan gabus sudahdipelihara sebagai komuditas budidaya namun sebagian besar di Nusantara merupakan hasil tangkapan darialam, baik berupa ukuran konsumsi maupun benih. Peningkatan kebutuhan ikan gabus dapat mempengaruhistok di perairan umum dan dapat mengancam kelangsungan hidup di habitat asli. Penelitian ini bertujuan untukmemperoleh informasi tentang keragaman hasil tangkapan ikan gabus diperairan rawa, Parung Jawa Barat dan untuk mengetahui pola pertumbuhan dan perkembangan ikan gabus melalui analisis hubungan panjang-bobot dan aspek reproduksi. Koleksi data meliputi pengamatan indeks kematangan gonad, gonado indeks dan pengamatanpertumbuhan melalui pengukuran hubungan panjang-bobot ikan. Ikan sampel diambil sebanyak tiga puluh limaekor untuk diukur panjang, bobot tubuh dan bobot gonad. Hasil penghitungan panjang–bobot diperoleh nilaikoefisien regresi (b) 2,875, nilai ini menunjukan bahwa ikan bersifat allometrik negatif, dan faktor kondisi ikanberkisar 0,312-2,03 dengan nilai determinan (R) 0,95. Jika dilihat dari nilai IG ikan betina yang berkisar 1,7666,42dengan nilai IKG berkisar 0,22-6,94%, angka ini menunjukanbahwa hasil tangkapan cenderungikan-ikanyangtelahmatanggonad dan terdapat hubunganyang erat antara bobotgonad dengan bobot tubuh ikan, dengannilaikeragaman ikan jantan 16,31 % dan ikan betina 19,99 %.

Abstract

Identification of Gouramy is required to obtain phenotype characteristics information of the population for sustainable aquaculture  practices. In this study phenotype diversity of giant gouramy strain bastar and bluesafir was analyzed based on  meristic and morphometric measurement. Sample, are taken from 30 individuals of each population. The result showed that there were differences in colour patterns between the two populations, bastar population had yellowish brown body and red fins, whilst bluesafir population had brown blackish brown body and fins. The canonical function of truss morphometric analysis on 21 characteristics showed the measurement distribution of that both populations were in different quadrants. The intrapopulation similarity index showed that population of strain bluesafir had higher genetic similarity (80%) with interpopulation similarity index of 23.3%, while the intrapopulation similarity index of strain bastar was 76.7%.

Abstract

Fish Tor is one of potential fish commodities to be developed because of their economic value. This on experiment was designed to evaluate the effect of male and female parent on morphological characters i.e length and weight growth and the value of heterosis from crosses of Tor soro and Tor douronensis. Crosses were performed in both directions (reciprocal) to form four populations. Observations lenght, weight gain, specific growth in length, specific growth in weight and value of heterosis were carried out for two months (January-March, 2014). The results showed an increase of  length, weight, specific growth in weight, specific growth in length occurred in seed produced from parent male of T. soro and female of T. douronensis with values of 0.54 cm, 0.09 g, 0.65 % and 3.79 %, rescpectively. Crossed of ? T. douronensis x ? T. soro yield heterosis value (partial) of length (40.90%) and weight (116.66%) was higher than crossed of ? T. soro x ? T. douronensis  that only have heterosis value of 0 and 33.33 %, and heterosis value (reciprocal) on the length of 20.45 % and the weight of 45.22 %.

Abstract

pH is one of the important water quality parameters in aquaculture. This study aimed to observe the growth performance and survival rate of common carp (Cyprinus carpio) Rajadanu strain reared in culture media with different pH levels. Fish (length: 3.60 ± 0.18 cm; weight: 1.68 ± 0.18 g) were stocked in nine aquariums (40 cm x 40 cm x 30 cm) for 10 days with a stocking density of 25 fish per aquarium. The treatments used were (A) pH 4-5, (B) pH 5-6, and (C) pH 6-7, with three replications. A commercial feed containing 28% protein was given daily and as much as 3% of the total biomass. The observed data were analyzed using variance analysis (ANOVA), followed by Duncan test. The results showed that the pH treatments did not affect the growth (length and weight) and survival rate of common carp Rajadanu strain (P>0.05). The best growth was achieved by the fish group reared in water with a pH range of 6-7 (length = 0.38 cm; weight = 0.17 g). The highest survival was attained by the fish group reared in water with a pH range of 5-6 (90.66%).

Abstract

Ikan tengadak (Barbonymus schwanenfeldii) merupakan alternatif ikan lokal yang memiliki potensi untuk dibudidayakan sebagai ikan konsumsi. Sebagai dasar pengetahuan tentang kiat sukses kegiatan budidaya yang dilakukan terhadap suatu komoditas maka perlu diketahui pola pertumbuhan dari komoditas tersebut. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat mengetahui pola pertumbuhan benih ikan tengadak pada pemeliharaan multisistem melalui pengamatan hubungan panjang bobot, faktorkondisi, pertumbuhan harian serta efisiensi pakan terhadap pertumbuhan. Sampel ikan yang digunakan berasal dari benih ikan tengadak Anjongan Kalimantan Barat yang kemudian dipelihara selama 120 hari pada jaring apung, kolam beton dan kolam tanah. Untuk analisis data hubungan panjang-bobot sampel ikan diambil 90 ekor pada setiap sistem pemeliharaan, sedangkan untuk analisis data pertumbuhan, sampel ikan yang digunakan sebanyak 30 perulangan setiap perlakuan dan kemudian dianalisis menggunakan Microsoft Exel dan program SPSS 16. Hasil perhitungan hubungan panjang-bobot ikan diperoleh nilai koefisien regrsi b=3 untuk pemeliharaan pada jaring apung, b=3,14 pada kolam beton dan b=2,54 pada kolam tanah, dengan faktor kondisi 1,51:0,15 untuk jaring apung 1,01 :0,10 kolam beton dan 1,02:0,10 pada kolam tanah. Hubungan panjang-bobot ikan memiliki nilai determinan (R²) berkisar 0,81-0,89. Nilai bobot mutlak dan Sgr terbesar terdapat pada pemeliharaan di kolam tanah, namun tidak terdapat perbedaan yang nyata antara ketiga sistem pemeliharaan tersebut (p<0,05) dengan nilai homogenitas bobot (p<0,031) dan nilai homogenitas panjang (<0,028).Kata kunci : Barbonimus schwanenfeldii, Kalimantan, pertumbuhan, pola pertumbuhan, faktor kondisi.

Abstract

In fish culture, optimal growth could be influenced by various culture methods. Aim of the study was to evaluate the productivity of Barbonymus balleroides, lalawak in floating net cages, concrete ponds, and earthen ponds. Cultivation was designed with the circulation water system. Experiment was conducted using completely randomized design with three treatments and three replications for each treatment. The experimental fish, sized of 4.20 ± 0.64 cm SL and weight of 2.14 ± 0.99 g, were obtained from induced breeding. The stocking density used was 20 individuals/m3. Fish were fed 3% of total weight two times every day using commercial pellet with 35% protein content for 90 day. The result showed that lalawak reared in earthen pond was no significant difference on length, weight, and biomass compared with that one in concrete pond (P>0.05), but significantly different (P<0.05) with floating net cages. There were no different (P>0.05) among the three different culture systems for survival rate and FCR. Lalawak reared on earthen pond system supported with optimal water quality could increase productivity value.

Abstract

Ikan mas rajadanu mempunyai karakter cepat tumbuh dan tahan penyakit. Selective breeding merupakan salah satu upaya dalam peningkatan mutu induk dan benih. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat respons pertumbuhan dan nilai heritabilitas pada ikan mas rajadanu (F-3) yang berpotensi tumbuh lebih cepat dibandingkan dengan generasi sebelumnya (F-2). Pembentukan ikan mas rajadanu F-3 dilakukan dengan metode hierarki (satu jantan membuahi empat betina). Pengujian respons seleksi dilakukan terhadap benih hasil pemijahan induk ikan mas rajadanu F-2 yang terseleksi. Terbentuk sebanyak 25 famili dan dipelihara secara terpisah selama 160 hari pada kolam beton ukuran 1,5 m x 1 m dengan ketinggian air 60 cm. Kolam digunakan sebanyak 25 buah. Respons seleksi dihitung dengan melihat nilai rata-rata pertumbuhan F-3 dibandingkan dengan F-2. Hasil penelitian menunjukan performa ikan mas rajadanu F-3 memiliki nilai respons seleksi (14,20 g); nilai heritabilitas (0,60); pertambahan bobot (41,63 ± 10,51 g); dan pertambahan panjang (9,86 ± 1,43 cm).Rajadanu carp strain have character of fast growing and disease resistant. Selective breeding is one of an attempts can be appllied to improve the broodstock and seed quality genetically. This research was aims to see response of growth and heritability value of F-3 on carp rajadanu that potentially grow faster compared with previous generation (F-2). The F-3 carp rajadanu was designated with hierarchy method (one males fertilize four female). The F-3 was derived from F-2 and formed 25 families. Those families were maintained for 160 days on pond with size of 1.5 m x 1 m and water depth of 60 cm. The response selection was calculated by choosing the best individuals of each based on ADG (averange daily growth). The research result show that the values of response selection was 14.20 g, heritability value of 0.60, weight, and length gain were 41.63 g and 9.86 cm, respectively.

Abstract

Ikan tengadak, Barbonymus schwanenfeldii merupakan salah satu jenis ikan lokal yang potensial untuk dikembangkan. Kemungkinan keberhasilan pengembangan ikan ini sangat tinggi karena ikan tengadak sekerabat dengan ikan tawes. Studi keragaman genetik dilakukan dalam upaya pemanfaatan sumber daya genetik untuk kegiatan budidaya secara berkelanjutan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis keragaman dan kekerabatan antara populasi ikan tengadak asal Jawa, Sumatera, dan Kalimantan. Analisis fenotipe dilakukan berdasarkan pengukuran truss-morfometrik, sedangkan analisis genotipe dilakukan secara molekuler menggunakan metode PCR-RAPD dengan primer OPA-08, OPA-09, dan OPC-02. Hasil analisis fungsi kanonikal truss-morfometrik menunjukkan sebaran pengukuran ketiga populasi berada pada kuadran yang berbeda dengan persentase indeks keseragaman tertinggi pada populasi Sumatera dan Jawa (100%). Analisis genotipe menunjukkan ikan tengadak populasi Kalimantan memiliki nilai polimorfisme (50,00) dan heterozigositas tertinggi (0,206); secara kekerabatan ikan tengadak Kalimantan memiliki jarak yang jauh dengan ikan tengadak Jawa dan Sumatera.Tinfoil barb Barbonymus schwanenfeldii is one of potential local fish species for aquaculture development. The successful probability of aquaculture development of tinfoil barb is very high due to close genetic relationship with silver barb. Study related to genetic diversity was conducted in order to explore genetic resources for sustainable aquaculture. The aim of this study was to analyze the genetic diversity and relationship between tinfoil barb populations from Java, Sumatra, and Kalimantan. Phenotype analysis was conducted by truss morphometric, whereas genotype analysis conducted by PCR-RAPD using OPA-08, OPA-09, and OPC-02 primers. The results of canonical correlation analysis from truss-morphometric measurements showed that the distribution of three populations were located in different quadrants with the highest similarity index percentage on Sumatra and Java population (100%). Genotypic analysis showed that tinfoil barb population from Kalimantan revealed the highest value of polymorphism (50.00) and heterozygosity (0.206), Kalimantan population have distantly genetic relationship to tinfoil barb from Java and Sumatra.

Abstract

Dalam mendukung program domestikasi ikan tengadak asal Kalimantan Barat perlu dilakukan karakterisasi fenotipe untuk mengevaluasi perubahan tingkat keragaman dari tiga generasi ikan tengadak dan antisipasi keberhasilan domestikasi yang dilakukan. Analisis keragaman fenotipe dilakukan secara biometri berdasarkan meristik dan morfometrik terhadap 30 ekor sampel dari masing-masing generasi. Hasil karakterisasi menunjukkan pada tiga generasi ikan tengadak terdapat kesamaan ciri-ciri meristik. Hasil truss morfometrik berdasarkan analisis fungsi kanonikal terhadap 21 karakter, generasi yang berbeda tersebar pada kuadran yang berbeda, G-0 berada di bagian bawah diagram kanonikal (kuadran 3 dan 4), G-1 berada di bagian kiri diagram (kuadran 1 dan 4), sedangkan G-2 sebagian besar di bagian atas diagram (kuadran 1, 2, dan 3). Berdasarkan truss morfometrik, kesamaan karakter terdapat pada garis yang menghubungkan ujung mulut dan ujung operculum bawah (A-1), garis yang menghubungkan awal sirip dorsal dan awal sirip anal (B6), garis yang menghubungkan awal sirip dorsal dan akhir sirip anal (C3), garis yang menghubungkan awal sirip anal dan akhir sirip anal (C5), garis yang menghubungkan akhir sirip dorsal dan akhir sirip anal (C6), garis yang menghubungkan akhir sirip dorsal dan awal sirip ekor atas (D1), garis yang menghubungkan akhir sirip dorsal dan akhir sirip ekor bawah (D3), dan garis yang menghubungkan akhir sirip anal dan awal sirip ekor bawah (D5). Analisis indeks keseragaman intrapopulasi (sharing component) menunjukkan keseragaman genetik tertinggi terdapat pada ikan tengadak generasi pertama (G-1) dan kedua (G-2) sebesar 76,7%; dan indeks keseragaman interpopulasi sebesar 3,3%-30% antara populasi ikan tengadak G-0 dan G-2. Ketersediaan jumlah induk yang dipijahkan dapat memengaruhi indeks keseragaman populasi.To support the domestication programs of tinfoil barb from West Kalimantan, it is important to undertake phenotypic charaterization in order to evaluate the changes in diversity of three generations of tinfoil barb and to anticipate the successfull domestication programs performed. Phenotype diversity was analyzed biometrically based on meristic and morphometric on 30 samples from each generation. The results showed that the three generations of tinfoil barbs have similar characteristic of meristic. The results of the canonical function of truss morphometric analysis on 21 characteristics showed the measurement distribution of three generation are in different quadrants. G-0 were located at the bottom of the diagram canonical (quadrant 3 and 4), G-1 was in the left side of the diagram (quadran 1 and 4), while G-2 mostly at the top of the diagram (quadran 1, 2, and 3). Based on truss morphometric, the similarity characters were in the line connecting the end of mouth and the lower end of operculum (A1), the line connecting the beginning of dorsal fin and beginning of anal fin (B6), the line connecting the beginning of dorsal fin and end of anal fin (C3), the line connecting the beginning of anal fin and end of anal fin (C5), the line connecting the end of dorsal fin and end of anal fin (C6), the line connecting the end of dorsal fin and beginning of upper part of caudal fin (D1), the line connecting the end of dorsal fin and beginning of lower part of caudal fin (D3), and the line connecting the end of anal fin and beginning of lower part of caudal fin (D5). The analysis of intrapopulation similarity index showed the highest index of genetic similarity was in G-1 and G-2 (76.7%) while, interpopulation similarity index of 3.3%-30.0%, was found G-0 and G-2 of tinfoil barb. The availability of broodstock can influence population similarity index.
