Abstract

ABSTRACTAs an effort to achieve meaningfulness in the research process conducted by students, it requires a student ability covering ability compile to with refer to the question to be researched, formulating statistical hypothesis, solving, and interpreting problems which is relied by existing context, this ability is known as statistical literacy. The purpose of this study is to describe and assess the ability of statistical literacy. By knowing the ability of statistical literacy early on in the first semester, it will be able to be developed furthermore realization of subject circumstances under study in further statistics. The method used in this research is qualitative method with type of research strategy of case study. The subjects of the study are students majoring in mathematics education semester I in the basic statistics courses of the academic year 2016/2017. Research instrument that is researcher as main instrument, and statistic literacy test. The result of the research is 35% of students are in the high statistic literacy ability category, 13% of students are in the medium category, and 52% of students are in the low category, with different achievement in each capability category viewed from three indicators of statistical literacy ability. They are Formulating problems ability; Using concepts ability, facts, procedures and reasoning; Interpreting problems solving ability. Keywords: Statistical literacy ability, student of mathematics education

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi pentingnya adversity quotient matematis dimiliki oleh mahasiswa, khusunya mahasiswa pendidikan matematika, karena hakikatnya matematika merupakan aktivitas pemecahan masalah. Sehingga setiap mahasiswa baik laki-laki maupun perempuan yang berkemampuan tinggi, sedang dan rendah perlu memiliki kecerdasan dalam menghadapi masalah. Subyek penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa Jurusan Pendidikan Matematika yang telah menempuh mata kuliah kalkulus. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan dan mengkaji adversity quotient matematis mahasiswa berdasar jenis kelamin dan kemampuan mahasiswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian deskriptif. Adapun instrumen pada penelitian ini berupa skala adversity quotient dan wawancara. Hasil dari penelitian ini menyatakan bahwa adversity quotient mahasiswa laki-laki kategori kemampuan tinggi dan sedang tergolong sangat tinggi, adversity quotient mahasiswa laki-laki kategori kemampuan tergolong tinggi, adversity quotient mahasiswa perempuan kategori kemampuan tinggi, sedang dan rendah tergolong sangat tinggi.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the lack of interest of teachers in the use of props in the process of learning mathematics in elementary school. In accordance with the demands of the curriculum in 2013 and supported by the developed learning theory, learning mathematics is abstract object of study, students need an intermediary that props math-ematics, so that students can more easily understand the concepts that will be pre-sented, and in the end it can deliver students to solve mathematical problems, not only that proposed by the teacher but also the problems in life. The purpose of this study was to determine the interest of prospective elementary teachers on the use of props mathematics after getting lectures media and elementary mathematics learning model. By knowing the interest of prospective elementary teachers will be developed further realization of the state of the subject being studied. The method used is descriptive research, then the instruments used were questionnaires and interviews. The results of this study stated that the interest of prospective elementary teachers on the use of props after attending lectures media and elementary mathematics learning model is high over-all with a percentage of 76.70%.Keywords : Interest, Props Mathematics

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis research is motivated by the lack of ability of student teachers of mathematics FKIP University of Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa in developing worksheets and media exploratory hands on activity. Based on observations in the course clump of learning (planning, strategies and evaluation) and the implementation of microteaching done by the students, obtained the fact that students in developing a worksheet is a collection of questions and do not require the capability of understanding the concept of the student. In addition, student teachers are still rarely use the media in learning, due to difficulties in designing and creating instructional media. Hence the need for teaching material that can be used as guides student teachers to develop explorative and media worksheet hands on activity. Thus the formulation of the problem and the purpose of this study is how to develop teaching material based worksheets and media exploratory hands on activity. The method used in this research is the development method includes preliminary studies, draft development, testing and development of the final product.The results of this research is a module consisting of four units, units of learning theory, the difference unit worksheets and job sheets, media unit hands on activity and worksheet exploratory unit. In each unit consists of several sub-units that correspond to the unit. Based on the results of expert testing and limited trials showed that the worksheet-based development modules exploratory and hands on activity worthy of media used. Keywords: Teaching Material, Worksheet Explorative, Media Hands on Activuty

Abstract

Media  pembelajaran  interaktif  banyak  dikembangkan  dan dapat  diakses  melalui  smartphone  akan  tetapi  belum  banyak  digunakan dosen dan mahasiswa, oleh karenanya perlu dikembangkan model perkuliahan yang melibatkan penggunaan Smartphone. Virtual Class pada e-learning merupakan lingkungan belajar online, dalam hal ini lingkungan yang dimaksud dapat berupa berbasis web, portal atau software. Seperti pada pembelajaran di dunia nyata, setiap peserta baik dosen   maupun mahasiswa  harus  memenuhi  aturan  yang  disepakati.  Salah  satu  strategi untuk meningkatkan kemandirian belajar mahasiswa dijurusan pendidikan matematika melalui pembelajaran Virtual Class. Oleh karenanya perlu dikembangkan pembelajaran yang dapat menunjang pembelajran konvensional dikelas. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah memberikan inovasi dengan proses pembelajaran berbasis Virtual Class untuk meningkatkan kemandirian belajar mahasiswa jurusan Pendidikan Matemaatika Untirta. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu kuasi eksperimen dengan desain kelompok kontrol non-ekivalen. Subyek dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa jurusan pendidikan matematika yang mengambil matakuliah Riset Operasi yang diselenggarakan pada semester genap tahun pelajaran 2015/2016 di Jurusan Pendidikan Matematika FKIP Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa. Kesimpulan penelitian ini yaitu mahasiswa pada kelas yang menggunakan virtual class mempunyai kecenderungan lebih baik pada indikator inisiatif belajar , mendiagnosa kebutuhan belajar, memilih dan menerapkan strategi belajar, memonitor, mengatur dan mengontrol, memandang kesulitan sebagai tantangan, memanfaatkan dan mencari sumber yang relevan, mengevaluasi proses dan hasil belajar, self efficacy (konsep diri), namun masih lemah pada indikator menetapkan target dan tujuan belajar dibandingkan siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran konvensional. Kata kunci: Smartphone,  Virtual  Class,  Kemandirian  Belajar.

Abstract

Mathematical skills are needed as a requirement for progress in modern times, and as a provision for the competitive 21st century. This puts pressure on students needing mathematical skills as a result of the learning process. Given the mathematics education students will be a professional teacher who is required to identify and improve the mathematical skills of students in school. So it is necessary to be anticipated early on for prospective math teacher who later become a teacher by knowing the level of his mathematical skills, based on the description of the students can do self-evaluation and follow-up on the advantages and weaknesses in each aspect of mathematical skill that includes comprehension concept, procedural fluency, strategic competence, and adaptive reasoning. The cultural context is integrated so that prospective teachers are able to see the mathematical aspects of their local culture and make it easier to solve the mathematical problems given through the Banten cultural context. The study purposes is to know and describe the picture of mathematical skills in the context of Banten culture in prospective math teachers. The research methode is qualitative method. The research instrument consists of a matter of mathematical skills test of Banten cultural context and interview guidance. Subjects in this study were students of Mathematics Education Department semester I academic year 2017/2018 of 113 students. The results showed that 1) Overall mathematical skill of cultural context of Banten mathematics teacher candidate of University of Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa including medium categorical; 2) There are 50% of mathematics teacher candidates possessing a mathematical skill in the Banten cultural context in the high category, and 30% of math candidates have moderate mathematical skills, and 20% of teachers have low mathematical skills in Banten cultural context; 3) The average aspect of mathematical skill of the Banten cultural context is highest in conceptual concept of understanding, while the average in the aspect of the lowest mathematical skill is on the aspect of the ability of adaptive reasoning. Keywords: Mathematical Skill, Banten Culture Context

Abstract

Abstract

This research is motivated by the searching of banten cultural information which is viewed from mathematics aspect is still unfocus, whereas the culture contains the elements of mathematics, mathematics is the construction of the culture. The search for mathematical regularity in Banten culture can be a study that can be integrated in mathematics learning on transformation material. The research use descriptive qualitative research. Based on the results of research, on the object of Banten gate, Banten Great Mosque, Banten Tower, Banten traditional roof contains elements of reflection, dilatation, translation, symmetry, rotation. In Banten gate appears regularity of reflection, dilation, translation. At the grand mosque of Banten it appears the regularity of rotation, reflection, dilation. In the tower of Banten there is regularity of rotation, dilation, reflection. On the roof of the house Banten has the regularity of reflection, dilation, rotation. With the study of banten culture in terms of the concept of transformation, it can be used by teachers in learning mathematics on the transformation materials in schools, so that students are expected not only to achieve the knowledge competence related to transformation material, but also as a form of strengthening character education at nationalist value by having attitude competence love of its own culture can grow and be owned by students as national identity
