Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kecakapan komunikasi mahasiswa selama proses kegiatan pembelajaran Keanekaragaman Hewan jurusan Pendidikan Biologi di Universitas Negeri Malang yang dilaksanakan pada bulan Agusstus 2017. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif. Subjek penelitian yakni mahasiswa pendidikan Biologi kelas B sebanyak 32 orang yang sedang mengikuti mata kuliah Keanekaragaman Hewan pada semester tiga. Data diperoleh dengan mengamati proses kegiatan belajar secara langsung oleh observer dengan mengisi lembar aktivitas mahasiswa selama kegiatan perkuliahan berlangsung dalam 4 kali pertemuan serta tes tulis diakhir siklus. Hasil observasi awal pada penelitian ini diketahui bahwa keterampilan mahasiswa dalam berkomunikasi  dinilai masih kurang, diantaranya; (1)  metode pembelajaran yang digunakan selama kegiatan pembelajaran adalah diskusi presentasi, sehingga kemampuan mahasiswa dalam menganalisis, mensintesis, dan mengevaluasi fakta-fakta dalam konsep biologi rendah ; (2) kegiatan diskusi presentasi yang dilakukan hanya didominasi oleh 4-5 mahasiswa saja; (3) kemampuan mahasiwa dalam membagikan pikiran pada temannya kurang, sehingga untuk untuk meningkatkan kecakapan komunikasi mahasiswa selama kegiatan perkuliahan, maka dilakukan penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) berbasis lesson study (LS) kurang lebih selama 2 siklus, dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing.

Abstract

Students’ motivation and their collaborative skills play a crucial role in determining the learning quality. The lower the motivation and collaborative skills the lower the learning quality. This lesson study-based classroom action research aimed at improving the students’ learning motivation and collaborative skills by implementing a Remap Jigsaw learning model. The subjects of this research were the fifth semester undergraduate students of Biology Education of Universitas Negeri Malang, who were taking the Basic Skills of Teaching course. The research was conducted in four cycles in which the each cycle consisted of two meetings. The instruments of data collection were the observation sheets and assessment sheets of students’ self-report. The data was analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. The results showed that students’ learning motivation increased from 66.25% in the cycle I to 84.37% in the cycle IV; while the students’ collaborative skills enhanced from 50% to 70.83% in the cycle IV. In the other words, the Remap Jigsaw combined with modelling activities can improve students’ motivation and their collaborative skills.

Abstract

Syzygium polyanthum has medicinal benefits, especially in its stem bark. This study aims to determine the antibacterial activity of methanol extract of Syzygium polyanthum’s stem bark to the inhibit of Escherchia coli growth. Extraction method done by maceration using methanol solvent. The extract used 40%, 60% and 80%, with tetracycline as a positive control and aquades as a negative control. Antibacterial activity tested by disk diffusion method. The result of antibacterial activity test analyzed using one-way ANOVA, followed by LSD test. The result showed that the extract concentration of 40%, 60%, and 80% have antibacterial activity with an average diameter of inhibitory zone, such as: 40% (16,2 mm),60% ( 8,5 mm) and 80% (16,3 mm), while the positive control 27,3 mm and negative control 0 mm. The results of the ANOVA analysis showed a significant value of 0.000 (p<0.05), which means there are significant differences in the effects of various concentrations of methanol extract of Syzygium polyanthum’s stem bark against Escherchia coli growth. The results of the LSD (Least Significance Different) test showed that all treatments were  significantly different than concentration of 40% to consentration of 80%. The conclusion of the study is the methanol extract of Syzygium polyanthum’s stem bark have antibacterial activity against Escherchia coli.  Keywords: antibacterial activity, Syzygium polyanthum, Escherchia coli, disk diffusion method

Abstract

The material is considered to be still difficult mostly related to the mechanism of action of the organ. SMP 18 Malang used as a place to study because there are elements of inquiry has actually been used by teachers, but still fragmentary, syntactic inquiry has not been implemented in full. Learning science most are still using the conventional method of the lectures. The medium used there only rely on manual print books, there module be accompanied inquiry interactive multimedia no one has made. Inquiry-based modules with interactive multimedia expected to be used to support student learning. This type of research is the development of research. The research model development using Thiagarajan. Stages Thiagarajan models include define, design, develop, and desseminate. However on hold at the stage of development research desseminate. Analysis of data using qualitative descriptive analysis. The results showed 82.14% of matter expert validation, validation media experts 83.33%, teachers validation 98.88%, validation students 94.19%. Based on the achievement of product development validation results are valid and fit for use. Suggestions that more needs to be done should be printed and manufactured product development.Materi yang dianggap masih sulit kebanyakan yang terkait dengan mekanisme kerja organ. SMP 18 Malang dijadikan untuk tempat penelitian karena disana unsur-unsur inkuiri sebenarnya sudah digunakan oleh guru, namun masih terpisah-pisah, sintak inkuiri belum dilaksanakan secara utuh. Pembelajaran IPA kebanyakan masih dibelajarkan dengan menggunakan metode konvensional yaitu dengan ceramah. Media yang digunakan di sana hanya mengandalkan buku cetak panduan, di sana modul berbasis inkuiri disertai multimedia interaktif belum ada yang membuat. Modul berbasis inkuiri disertai multimedia interaktif diharapkan dapat digunakan sebagai penunjang belajar siswa. Jenis penelitian merupakan penelitian pengembangan. Model penelitian pengembangan menggunakan Thiagarajan. Tahapan model pengembangan Thiagarajan meliputi define, design, develop, dan desseminate. Namun pada tahan penelitian pengembangan hanya pada tahapan desseminate. Analisis data menggunakan analisis deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan validasi ahli materi 82,14%, validasi ahli media 83,33%, validasi guru 98,88%, validasi siswa 94,19%. Berdasarkan pencapaian hasil validasi produk pengembangan telah valid dan layak digunakan. Saran yang perlu dilakukan lebih lanjut sebaiknya produk pengembangan dicetak dan diproduksi.

Abstract

Diversity of animal is one of the subjects taken by students majoring in Biology at the University of Malang. Based on the observation result, the learning of this course is done through the practicum and discussion - presentation, and found some problems that are 1) the student is wrong to draw the observation object, 2) the data collected is not in accordance with the observation, 3) the individual work student in the group, 4) Collecting assignments, and 5) students not following lecturers instructions. The problem is related to the process skill and scientific attitude of the student which is expected to be overcome with the implementation of Guided Inquiry based on lesson study. The result of the research shows that the application of guided inquiry model can improve the students process skill with the average value of classical process skill in the first cycle of 88.87 and in the second cycle of 94.43, and can improve the scientific attitude with the average value of classical scientific attitude on Cycle I of 82.22 and in cycle II of 93.49.Kata kunci : Inkuiri terbimbing, keanekaragaman hewan, lesson study

Abstract

Buah salam (Syzygium polyanthum) memiliki manfaat sebagai obat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui daya hambat ekstrak metanol buah Syzygium polyanthum terhadap pertumbuhan bakteri Escherchia coli. Ekstraksi dilakukandengan cara maserasi menggunakan pelarut metanol. Konsentrasi ekstrak yang digunakan adalah 40%, 60%, dan 80%, dengan tetracycline sebagai kontrol positif dan aquades sebagai kontrol negatif. Aktivitas antibakteri diuji dengan menggunakan metode one way anova, dilanjutkan dengan uji LSD (least signifiance diffrent). Hasil uji aktivitas antibakteri menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak buah Syzygium polyanthum berpengaruh signifian dalam menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri Escherchia coli(p <0,05). Konsentrasi 80% memiliki aktivitas paling tinggi dalam menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri Escherchia coli, yang tidak berbeda nyata dengan konsentrasi 60% dan kontrol positif. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah ekstrak metanol buah Syzygium polyanthum memiliki aktivitas antibakteri terhadap Escherchia coli

Abstract

This study aims to develop learning media booklets and videos of clean and healthy life characters using the ADDIE model (1) analyze, (2) design, (3) development, (4) implementation, and (5) evaluation. The average percentage of booklet validation is 100% and the video is 96.89%. The result of validation by the media expert including the category is very valid. The result of the average practicality test booklet media is 98,90% and the video is 97,50% which is very valid category. The result of the large group test based on the paired T-test and the wilcoxon rank test showed the literate knowledge of the people in each kecamatan with p (0.00) &lt;0.05, meaning that knowledge increased significantly, in the illiterate people in Kecamatan Bantur, p&gt; 0.05 means knowledge Increased insignificantly, while in other sub-districts had a value of p &lt;0.05 which means a significant increase.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran booklet dan video karakter hidup bersih dan sehat dengan menggunakan model ADDIE yaitu (1) analyze, (2) design, (3) development, (4) implementation, dan (5) evaluation. Persentase rata-rata validasi booklet sebesar 100% dan video sebesar 96,89%. Hasil validasi oleh ahli media termasuk kategori sangat valid. Hasil uji kepraktisan rata-rata media pembelajaran booklet sebesar 98,90% dan video sebesar 97,50% yang termasuk kategori sangat valid. Hasil uji kelompok besar berdasarkan hasil Uji-T berpasangan dan wilcoxon rank test menunjukkan pengetahuan masyarakat yang melek huruf pada setiap kecamatan dengan p (0.00) &lt; 0.05, artinya pengetahuan meningkat secara signifikan, pada masyarakat buta huruf di Kecamatan Bantur diperoleh p &gt; 0.05 artinya pengetahuan meningkat secara tidak signifikan, sedangkan pada kecamatan lain memiliki nilai p &lt; 0.05 yang artinya mengalami peningkatan secara signifikan.

Abstract

Textbooks are learning guide books used by students in order to help achieve the goals of national education. Development of textbooks is one of the ways in which to facilitate the achievement of learning indicators. Development of Cell Biology textbooks by using bioinformatics approaches Dick and Carey development model. Textbooks developed validated by subject matter experts, instructional media experts, individual testing 15 students, and 15 students were group trial. Validation results matter experts declared feasible by 84% in good categories. The results of the validation study media experts declared feasible by 82.4% in good categories.Buku ajar merupakan buku panduan pembelajaran yang digunakan oleh siswa guna membantu mencapai tujuan pendidikan nasional. Pengembangan buku ajar merupakan salah satu cara yang dilakukan untuk memfasilitasi tercapainya indikator pembelajaran. Pengembangan buku ajar Biologi Sel dengan pendekatan Bioinformatika menggunakan model pengembangan Dick and Carey. Buku ajar yang dikembangkan divalidasi oleh ahli materi, ahli media pembelajaran, 15 mahasiswa uji coba perorangan, dan 15 mahasiswa uji coba kelompok sedang. Hasil validasi ahli materi menyatakan layak sebesar 84% dengan kategori baik. Hasil validasi ahli media pembelajaran menyatakan layak sebesar 82,4% dengan kategori baik.

Abstract

The research aims to produce extension video about clean and healthy life behavior that contains the character values to valid, practical, effective to improve community knowledge about how to protect themselves from diarrheal disease. Video was develodep using the ADDIE development model, and tested using one group pre-test post-test design with a total sample of 30. Data collection using questionnaire and test. The result of test to be analyzed with paired sample t-test. The result showed pre-test scores is 61,33 and post-test scores is 89,10, and the results of hypothesis test showed sig. (0,000) &lt; α (0,05). Its mean, the extension video about clean and healthy life behavior that contains the character values effective to improve community knowledge.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan video penyuluhan perilaku hidup bersih dan sehat (PHBS) bermuatan nilai karakter yang valid, praktis, dan efektif untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan masyarakat dalam menanggulangi penyakit diare. Video dikembangkan dengan model pengembangan ADDIE, dan diuji coba menggunakan one group pre-test pos-test design dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 30 orang. Pengumpulan data menggunakan angket validasi dan tes (pre-test dan post- test).  Hasil tes  dianalisis dengan paired sample t-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan skor pre-test adalah 61,33 dan post-test 89,10, dan dari hasil pengujian hipotesis diperoleh sig. (0,000) &lt; α (0,05). Artinya, video penyuluhan PHBS bermuatan nilai karakter efektif dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan masyarakat.
