Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine students improved understanding of physics concepts through the application of guided inquiry approach with metide pictorial riddle on the subject of a simple plane. Type of research is classroom action research with research subjects 29 students of SMP Muhammadiyah Muntilan.Techniques used in collecting data is by direct observation in the classroom and the testing techniques. The analysis of data using qualitative and quantitative analysis.The results showed that the application of guided inquiry learning with pictorial riddle method can improve students understanding of the concept in the first cycle with an average value of 42.93 into 50.71 and the second cycle increased to 67.50 and in the third cycle into 80.71. Similarly, the students motivation to learn physics class is also quite good with a yield of 63.57%.

Abstract

Scientific literacy is the ability to use scientific knowledge, identify problems, and draw conclusions based on evidence, in order to understand and make decisions about nature and changes that occur in nature as a result of human activity. This study aims to determine the development of physics teacher candidates’ scientific literacy. This is important to prepare the physics teachers in the future. The method used was ex-post facto. The subjects of this research were all students of physics education Department of UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung from the first to the last semester. The data collection used was essayed tests which contained the context of science, the content of science, the process of science, and the attitude of science. Data analysis was done qualitatively and quantitatively. Based on the results of this study, it indicates that the scientific literacy ability possessed by physics teacher candidate students experiencing a continuous development in terms of the context of science, science content, the process of science, and attitude to science. The result of this research may be applied by the Physics Department to make a decision or rule on how to improve the physics student’ literacy level

Abstract

Dalam mata pelajaran Fisika terdapat banyak miskonsepsi salah satunya materi fluida statis. Materi ini umumnya disampaikan oleh guru dengan model pembelajaran DI (Direct Intruction). Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan aktivitas dan prestasi belajar fisika dengan melihat respon siswa terhadap pembelajaran materi massa jenis fluida yang menggunakan media praktikum alat Roberval balance  untuk mengetahui massa jenis suatu fluida. Penelitian dilaksanakan di MTs Miftahul Falah dengan subyek penelitian yaitu 35 siswa kelas VII. Data  setelah pembelajaran dan praktikum diperoleh dengan metode kuesioner yang dianalisis menggunakan skala Likert dan skala Guttman dan post test yang dianalisis menggunakan  taraf kesukaran dan daya beda.. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa praktikum ini memberi manfaat dan membuka wawasan siswa mengenai konsep massa jenis. Selain itu dari hasil post test  terdapat 2 butir soal yang termasuk kategori mudah (butir soal no.1 dan no.3), 2 kategori sukar (butir soal no.2 dan no.5) dan butir soal no.4 masuk kategori sedang. Sedangkan daya beda paling tinggi terdapat pada butir soal no. empat. Dengan melihat kemampuan kelompok atas hampir semuanya mampu menjawab soal no. empat dibandingkan kelompok bawah sehingga dapat dikatakan soal no. empat ini merupakan soal yang baik dibanding soal lainnya.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to apply Torricelli law in order to determine flow velocity of fluid by calculating the rate of change of gallon bottled water volume by using the derived equation and measuring the time required until the water in the gallon is exhausted. This research used experimental method by varying the height of liquid in gallons so that the variation of fluid velocity and the rate of volume change are obtained. The results show that the maximum fluid velocity was 0.22 m/s with a rate of change of volume of 0,010 m3/s, and the minimum fluid velocity of 0.063 m/s with a rate of change in volume of 0,0028 m3/s.

Abstract

Research should be focused on topics that are appropriate to the needs of the times so that the results of the research can be applied. Students in completing their studies are required to make final assignments in the form of research. Therefore, this study aims to identify the tendency of research of the Physics Education students Indicator the last five years and to determine the theme of educational research studies that allows for further study by Physics Education students in the future. This research was conducted in physics education program with research objects were taken from the written thesis of 2013 until 2017. This research design is a case study with data analysis technique of descriptive qualitative and quantitative. this study found the theme of research studies most studied by Physics Education students were a model of learning and research studies that may still be studied further, namely the evaluation of learning, learning media, and learning strategies on subjects other than temperature and heat and static fluids. The results of this study can be used as a consideration to determine the topic of the thesis and reduce the risk of plagiarism and increase the variety of research in the environment of the study program.Keywords: Physics Research, Research, Students Researchers, Trend analysis

Abstract

 Abstract Science learning essentially requires students to cultivate curiosity so that it triggers to conduct investigations by doing science activities. The purpose of this research is to know the profile of student activity in learning basic concept of IPA through contextual teaching and learning approach (CTL) with group investigation (GI) model.The subject of this research is Program of primary teacher education UMMGL students consisting of two classes with 83 people. The research method is descriptive. Data collection techniques were conducted by setting the focus of research, selecting informants as data sources, collecting data, assessing data quality, analyzing data, interpreting data, and drawing conclusions on the findings.From the research results can be concluded that the profile of student activity in learning basic concept of science through CTL approach with the average GI model is in very good category.

Abstract

Telah dilakukan eksperimen mengenai penentuan nilai momen inersia dari silinder pejal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membandingkan nilai momen inersia dengan variasi jari-jari. Eksperimen ini dilakukan dengan metode membandingkan hasil pengolahan data tracker dan teknik integral. Teknik integral didasarkan pada teorema sumbu sejajar yang mengintegralkan jari-jari terhadap massa benda, jari-jari di bedakan dengan tiga variasi benda. Dari eksperimen didapatkan hasil nilai momen inersia dari pengolahan data tracker yaitu 2,208 x 10-8 kg.m2 dengan jari-jari 2,4 x 10-3 m, 3,02 x 10-7 kg.m2  dengan jari-jari 3,7 x 10-3m, 5,25 x 10-6 kg.m2dengan jari-jari 5,6 x 10-3m.  Sedangkan secara perhitungan menggunakan teknik integral yaitu 2,209 x 10-8 kg.m2 dengan jari-jari 2,4 x 10-3 m, 2,754 x 10-7 kg.m2  dengan jari-jari 3,7 x 10-3m, 5,25 x 10-6 kg.m2 dengan jari-jari 5,6 x 10-3 m.

Abstract

Penelitian inimembahas tentang bagaimana fenomena entropi bisa dilihat dari perspektif sains dan al-Qur’an. Masalah pada penelitian ini antara lain bagaimana sudut pandang kita melihat fenomena entropi ini jika dilihat dari perspektif sains dan Al-Qur’an. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendapatkan fakta-fakta, atau prinsip-prinsip baru untuk mendapatkan pengertian baru mengenai peristiwa entropi jika dikaitkan dengan al-Qur’an, untuk menjelaskan kedudukan sains Al-Qur’an dengan menyebutkan ayat-ayat yang berkaitan dengan fenomena entropi sebagai sumber pendidikan yang dapat mendorong manusia supaya beriman kepada Alloh SWT, membina rohani yang tunduk dan patuh kepada ajarannya dalam bentuk akhlak dan cara hidup yang terpuji. Kegiatan penelitian dimulai dengan usaha untuk menghimpun dan menemukan hubungan-hubungan antara fakta yang diamati secara seksama. Suatu penelitian telah dimulai apabila seseorang berusaha untuk memecahkan suatu masalah, secara sistematis dengan metode ilmiah. Hubungan antara entropi dengan sains bisa dilihat dari bunyi Hukum Termodinamika II, dan hubungan entropi dengan Al-Quran seperti yang tercantum pada QS. Ar-Rahmaan ayat 9 yang menjelaskan hubungan fenomena entropi dengan ketidakteraturan atau ketidakseimbangan.
