Abstract

The development of learning in primary schools produced many theories and new methods to complement the competence of teachers in the 21st century. To complement the skills of teachers is needed guidelines, which describe the tasks and role of the teacher in guiding the learning from effective planning, selecting the right materials and media, implementation and evaluation are meaningful to development of students' abilities. This book review will show teachers the skills needed of today and future, will answer the challenges of teaching and learning revolution in the 21st century.Keywords: teaching and learning, the implementation of 21st century learning, the teacher of the 21st century.

Abstract

Learning proccess without media causing a lack of drawing creativities development of students, so they can’t brings up their creative ideas. That case encourage the researcher to apply animated movies as a learning alternative media to stimulate their creativities. The aim of this research is to test animated movies usage as a learning alternative media. This research included into nonequivalent control group of quasi experimental design. The sample are taken from purposive sampling technique. The researcher got the data by test, observation, interview, and questionnaire. The analysis data which used is Shapiro-Wilk (normality), Levene (homogeneity), and free t sample (average difference test). The research result shows significant differences about student creativities between experiment class and control class. The calculation results using free t sample test, obtained P-value (sig. 2-talled) amounting to 0,00 which is H0 received. So it can be concluded that animated movies usage more effective to improve student creativities in illustrations drawing.

Abstract

Learning cycle makes student to have active role in learning process at class. While, science process skills demand student to have active role in having science experiment. Therefore, there is between learning cycle and science process skill. This research took the sample in particular from three classes were grouped into 3 group which are high, middle, and low (TSR), the determination on the test result knowledge of natural science (KAIPA). The three groups were given only one learning method, which is using Learning Cycle. Pre-experimental method was used with One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The result of research with significance level α = 0,05 indicates that  Learning Cycle can improve student’s science process skills in group TSR. However, the difference test results of the three averages data gain group TSR shows the value of 0,331. In conclusion, there is no difference in the improvement of student’s science process skills in TSR Group.

Abstract

This study was designed to create different atmosphere on learning illustration drawing for primary school students. The method was through fairy tales before students begin to draw. This research used quasi-experimental design with nonequivalent control group. The sample was 5th grade primary school students in SDN Sukalilah, reflected the population of all 5th grade primary school students in Pamulihan subdistrict. Analyzed using significant poin at 0.05 or 5%, results showed that learning through fairy tales method contributed significantly to students result of animal and its nature illustration drawing, with determinant percent 45,02%. In addition, using Fairy Methode could increase the Learning Motivation of the students, yet, not significantly. There are positive relations between the Learning Drawing result by Learning Motivation of student for about 0,25%.

Abstract

This research is based on the idea that instructional media is needed in the classroom learning as a tool to facilitate in conveying the subject that is considered as quite complex. One of the media that can be used in learning is audio-visual media.This study aims to determine the effect of audio-visual media on students learning results of volcanic nature event of high, medium and low groups. This study used pre-experimental research with one group pretest-posttest design. The population in this study is all fifth grade students of SD all Lemahabang subdistrict in Cirebon regency. The sample of this research is the fifth grade students of SDN I Asem and SDN III Lemahabang with all students from both schools grouped into high, medium, and low group based on the results of natural science basic ability test. The research data obtained from the test of students’ learning result of volcanic natural event subject while students response obtained from questionnaire given after learning and posttest take place. Data analysis has been done shows that: (1) Audio-visual media give positive effect to the improvement of student learning outcomes in high, medium and low group. (2) Learning using audio-visual media does not show a different positive effect on increasing learning outcomes between high, medium and low groups. Abstract

Based on the observation of initial data found problems in learning to determine the main sentence in each paragraph in class IV SDN Pamulihan. Thus, a classroom action research is conducted by applying computer-aided Quantum learning model. The results obtained increased each cycle, teacher performance in learning plan reaches 93% in cycle I, 98% in cycle II and 100% in cycle III. In implementing teacher performance learning reaches 79% percentage in cycle I, 97% in cycle II, and 100% in cycle III. Student activity also experienced an increase in the students with good criteria in cycle I reached 41%, 77% in cycle II, and 95% in cycle III. Completeness of student achievement reaches 45% in cycle I, 82% in cycle II, and 95% in cycle III. Thus, it can be concluded that the application of computer-aided Quantum learning model can improve teacher performance, student activities, and student learning outcomes in learning reading skills in determining the main sentence in each paragraph.

Abstract

The low comprehension of elementary school students in integer material and the low motivation of students to learn mathematics is the background of this research. One alternative solution to the problem is to apply contextual approach REACT strategy on learning mathematics. The purpose of this study is to determine the difference between the influence of contextual approach REACT strategy compared with conventional learning on the ability of mathematical understanding and learning motivation of elementary school students on the matter of addition and reduction of integers. This study is a quasi experimental with non equivalent control group design. The results showed that both of it were able to improve the ability of mathematical understanding and learning motivation of elementary school students, but contextual approach REACT strategy was better, and there is a positive correlation between learning motivation and students mathematical understanding ability in the experimental class.

Abstract

Possessing ICT skills for learning was a necessity for primary schools teachers in accordance with the requirements of current development and Education 4.0. This multi-year research had entered its third year in which it sought to discover information about the types of ICT training materials that were appropriate for the needs of teachers in primary schools and development of effectiveness of an ICT training curriculum structure. This research employed a descriptive survey design. The sample included 30 teachers in primary schools from 12 regions with different school characters in Sumedang Regency, West Java. The findings of this research showed an overview of a gap between teachers who had capabilities in utilizing ICT and teachers who needed to develop their capabilities in utilizing ICT through a practice. In attempting to mediate this gap, this research designed an ICT training curriculum structure that was appropriate for the needs of teachers in primary schools.
