Abstract

Islam and Politic have interrelationships. It consists of fungtional Islam and politics is a unity that can not be separated. Islam and politics have the correlation functional; Islam requires political support, while the political needs of moral and ethics of Islam. The relationship between Islam and politics can be viewed from two aspects. Firstly, there are several doctrines aspect, the phrase of the Quran which is often interpreted as a political concept referring to Islam. Second, the social reality. Having been Hijrah Year 622 H., the Prophet Muhammad Saw., has formed the Government of Madinah through a political contract with residents of the city of Madinah, consisting of Jewish, Islamic, and Arabian community who still adhere to the traditions and ignorance. The political contract is defined into a shahifah, and then it is known ‘Madinah Charter’. At the time, a small Committee was formed which compromises between the nasinalism and Islam to stem the various differences between the Islamic and the secular nationalists in BPUPKI who designed the Preamble and the Declaration of the independence day of Indonesia. This small Committee is managed to formulate the script Jakarta Charter. In essence, the Charter affirms the Pancasila as the ground state with the addition of a sentence on the sila of the Godhead to be: believe in God with the obligation of running Islamic jurisprudence for the hangers. The next compromise occurred on August 18th 1945, changing the clause of the divinity with the obligation of running Islamic jurisprudence for the hangers which becomes "the divinity of the one true God".

Abstract

Classical theology of Islam spread broadly to Islamic community in wider context. The concept of faith, believer, unbeliever, heaven and hell as the main themes of classical theology have undergone the changes of substantial meaning. The current theology not only discuss the above theme as, but also focuse on how to harmonize the relation between religions. There has been the sustainity and continuation of theological school form Jabariyah to a moderate one such Asy’ariah, whereas, Qadariyah-Mu’tazilah’s theology has metamorphosed into liberal-inclusve theology.

Abstract

In the early 20th century, intelectual movement of Islamic reformers comes to bring some changes. This movement was from Moddle East, then spread to all over the world.  The main theme of this movement is to purify Islamic teaching from bid’ah, khurafat, etc. Considering the coming of modern atmosphere, Islamic reformers and institution began to consolidate and accomodate this penetration. Thus, through traditional institution, Islamic traditional thinkers tried to strengthen the main pillars of Islam.

Abstract

One of the meaning of history is a science that tries to inherit knowledge about the past of certain society. Historians try to research the past through various ways or methods. From the perspective of methodology, history source has a significant role of all research processes and stages of history, including heuristic, criticism, interpretation, and historiography. Methodology used in prophetic tradition includes critics on chain and text, but this methodology is not followed by historiography as it is in history research. Criticism methods of the prophetic tradition conducted by prophetic tradition scholars are able to give the high accuracy results provided those methods performed carefully and thriftily. Thus, the selected prophetic tradition is very reliable as a history source not as a history book.
