Abstract

The study aimed at identifying the types of parasites that infect snakehead (C. striata) fish as well as to determine the prevalence of the parasite species. A total of 51 snakehead fish was captured using nets and traps then examined at Parasitology Laboratory of Veterinary Medicine Faculty Syiah Kuala University Banda Aceh. Ectoparasites inspection was done by observation of the outer body organs as well as by making the mucus smear examined under a microscope, while endoparasites inspection was done by observation on the surface of the digestive tract and heart, and also thin and thick boold smear. The study revealed that two types of parasites that infect snakehead fish in irrigation Cot Balee were Pallisentis nagpurensis and Trichodina spp. It also found larvae obtained from the intestinal villi scrapings that have not been identified. A total of 96% snakehead fish infected by P. nagpurensis, 6% infested with Trichodina spp., and 10% infested by unidentified larvae.Key words: parasite, snakehead fish (Channa striata), Palllisentis nagpurensis, Trichodina spp, prevalence

Abstract

The objective of this study was to identify parasites that infect mackerel fish (Euthynnus affinis) at fish auction in Lhoknga, Aceh Besar. Fifteen mackerel fish collected from fish auction in Lhoknga were examined at Parasitology Laboratory, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Syiah Kuala University Banda Aceh to observe the presence of ectoparasites and endoparasites. The ectoparasite examination was conducted by observation of the external body part and then examined under microscope, while endoparasite examination conducted by observation of inner surface of digestive tract. The data showed that two types parasites infested the mackerel fish at fish auction in Lhoknga were Anisakis simplex and Neobenedia melleni. A total of 87% mackerel fish was infested with A. simplex and 7% was infested with N. melleni.

Abstract

This study aimed to isolate and identify the bacteria Salmonella sp in spleen of male layer chicken that died in farms Sibreh, Aceh Besar. A sample of the research is the spleen of male layer chickens. Isolation of Salmonella sp performed by inoculating spleen that were pierced using a swab on the media Selenite Cystine Broth (SCB) then planted on selective media Salmonella Shigella Agar (SSA) and colony morphology was observed, continued with observation of Gram stain under microscopic. Furthermore, colonies of suspected Salmonella sp planted in the media MR-VP (Oxoid), Indol (Difco), Simmonss Citrate Agar (Oxoid), Triple Sugar Iron Agar (TSIA), Sulfite Indol Motiliti (SIM), and media sugars (sucrose, manitol, glucose, lactose , maltose). The results of this study were analyzed descriptively. The research shows a results from a total of 33 samples, we found that 15 samples are positive that can be isolated and identified as Salmonella sp. Therefore it can be concluded that Salmonella sp is possible the death cause of male layer chicken in farms Sibreh, Aceh Besar

Abstract

This study aimsed  to determine the type of ectoparasites on crab (Scylla serrata) in the water of Alue Naga Banda Aceh.  The samples of this study were 10 heads of mud crabs were taken from the Alue Naga waters Banda Aceh and taken to the Laboratory of Parasitology. Veterinary Medicine Faculty of Syiah Kuala University Banda Aceh to identify the take ectoparasites on mud crab (Scylla serrata) by observing the outer body of the organism, then noted bleeding, wounds or swelling and pay attention to the type of organism that is attached to the body of mud crab, then dredge the outer parts of the body like the carapace, foot path, foot pool and gills were take it and then tweezers and then putting the object glass that has been provided and observed with a microscope with 100 times magnification and see what kind of ectoparasites that have been found and then compare with the identification key. From the results of this study concluded that ectoparasites which infects mud crab (Scylla serrata) in the waters of Alue Naga Banda Aceh come  from genus Chilodonella sp. Whichare predilections in the gills with a prevalence rate of 10%.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui gambaran histopatologi hati babi hutan yang terinfeksi parasit internal. Pemeriksaan dilakukan pada feses dengan metode uji natif dan pemeriksaan darah menggunakan metode ulas darah tipis. Sampel berupa tiga ekor babi hutan yang terinfeksi parasit internal. Patologi anatomis hati babi hutan diamati terlebih dahulu sebelum organ tersebut dibuat preparat histopatologi. Hasil yang di dapat dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukan babi pertama tidak terinfeksi parasit, babi hutan ke-2 terinfeksi parasit Strongyloides ransomi dengan gambaran patologi anatomi perubahan warna pucat, konsistensi keras, dan terbentuknya nodul fokal nekrotik dan babi ke-3 terinfeksi parasit Anaplasma marginale menunjukan perubahan warna pucat dan nodul nekrotik multi fokal. Secara histopatologi babi hutan yang tidak terinfeksi menunjukan gambaran hiperemi, disosias sel hati dan pelebaran sinusoid, hati babi yang terinfeksi Strongyloides ransomi menunjukan perubahan adanya peningkatan jaringan ikat pada septa interlobular dan infiltrasi sel radang. dan hati babi yang terinfeksi Anaplasma marginale menunjukan perubahan infiltrasi sel radang, pelebaran buluh empedu dan peningkatan jaringan ikat. Hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa, babi postif terinfeksi Anaplasma marginale dan Strongyloides ransomi. (This research aims to knew the description of the histopathological of infected wild boar liver internal parasite. The examination is done on the stool by the method of blood test and examination of natively using the method of review of blood thinner. The sample consists of three infected wild boars internal parasites. Anatomical Pathology wild boar liver observed before the histopathological preparations made. The results can be analyzed in a descriptive based. The Results of the research showed the first pigs were not infected with the parasite, the wild boar infected with Strongyloides ransomi parasite with description of Anatomic Pathological changes the color of pale, hard consistency, and the formation of focal necrotic and nodules, 3rd pig infected with Anaplasma marginale parasite shows pale discoloration and multi focal necrotic nodule. In the first boar histopathological showed an overview hiperemi, disosias liver cells and dilation of liver sinusoids, the infected pigs Strongyloides ransomi showed an increase in connective tissue changed on the interlobular septa and infiltration of inflammatory cells. and heart of infected pigs Anaplasma marginale showed changes in infiltration of inflammatory cells, dilation of bile and Reed increased connective tissue. Research results can be concluded that positive infected pigs, Anaplasma marginale and Strongyloides ransomi).

Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan mengidentifikasi jenis parasit yang menginfeksi gurita (Octopus sp) di Perairan Lampuuk, Kecamatan Lhoknga Kabupaten Aceh Besar. Sebanyak 5 ekor gurita yang diambil dari Perairan Lampuuk, diperiksa di Laboratorium Parasitologi Fakultas Kedokteran Hewan Universitas Syiah Kuala Banda Aceh untuk melihat keberadaan ektoparasit dan endoparasit. Pemeriksaaan ektoparasit dilakukan dengan cara pengamatan organ tubuh bagian luar dan kemudian diperiksa di bawah mikroskop, sedangkan pemeriksaan endoparasit dilakukan dengan cara pengamatan pada permukaan dalam dari Saluran pencernaan. Dari hasil penelitian tidak ditemukan jenis parasit yang menginfestasi gurita di Perairan Lampuuk. ABSTRACTThis research aimed to identify parasite type that infect Octopus (Octopus sp) in waters Lampuuk, Lhoknga subdistrict Aceh Besar District. Total of 5 Octopuses were collected from Lampuuk waters and examined at Parasitology Laboratory of Veterinary Faculty Syiah Kuala University Banda Aceh to examine the existence of ectoparasites and endoparasites. Examination of ectoparasite was carried out by observing the external body organ then examined under a microscope, while endoparasit examination was observed on the inner surface of the GI tract. In conclusion, there are no parasites found in octopus collected from Lampuuk.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui gambaran histopatologi paru-paru babi hutan (Sus scrofa) yang terinfeksi parasit internal. Sampel penelitian menggunakan 3 ekor babi hutan yang terinfeksi parasit internal. Pemeriksaan darah dilakukan dengan uji ulas darah tipis.  feses  dengan metode natif dan paru-paru secara patologi anatomi dan histopatologi. Dimulai dari fiksasi, dehidrasi dengan alkohol bertingkat, clearing, infiltrasi, blok dan dipotong dengan ketebalan 5 µm dan diwarnai dengan Haematoksilin Eosin (HE). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pada babi pertama terinfeksi Anaplasma marginale pada gambaran patologi anatomi terlihat paru berwarna merah tua, permukaan lobus licin dan tidak kusam, pada bagian ujung lobus paru runcing, konsistensi lunak dan tidak di temukan hiperemi, sedangkan gambaran histopatologi terlihat adanya infiltrasi sel radang daerah lumen pembuluh darah, kongesti, hiperemi, hemoragi, edema dan emfisema. Pada babi kedua terinfeksi Strongyloides ransomi pada gambaran patologi anatomi paru berwarna merah muda dan di temukan hiperemi pada lobus dekster akibat luka tembak, sedangkan gambaran histopatologi terlihat adanya infiltrasi sel radang daerah lumen pembuluh darah dan daerah septa intra alveolaris, hiperemi dan emfisema. Dan pada babi ketiga tidak terinfeksi parasit internal pada gambaran patologi anatomi paru berwarna merah muda dan di temukan hiperemi pada lobus sinister akibat luka tembak, sedangkan gambaran histopatologi terlihat adanya infiltrasi sel radang pada jaringan paru dan bronkus, emfisema, udema, hiperemi, kongesti, hemoragi, jaringan ikat dan fibrin. Hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa,  dari ke tiga babi hutan terdapat satu ekor yang positif Anaplasma marginale. satu ekor yang positif Strongyloides ransomi dan satu ekor tidak terinfeksi parasit internal. This study aims to determine the histopathological features of the lungs of wild boar (Sus scrofa) infected with internal parasites. The study sample used 3 wild boar infected with internal parasites. Blood tests are carried out with a thin blood test. Feces with native and lung methods in anatomical and histopathological pathology. Starting from fixation, dehydration with multilevel alcohol, clearing, infiltration, block and cut with a thickness of 5 µm and stained with Haematoxilin Eosin (HE). The results showed that the first pig infected with Anaplasma marginale on anatomical pathology showed a dark red lung, lobe surface was slippery and not dull, at the end of lung lobe was  sharp, soft consistency and no hyperemia, in a histopathological showed regional inflammatory cell infiltration lumen of blood vessels, congestion, hyperemia, hemorrhage, edema and emphysema. The second pig was infected with rationomic Strongyloides on anatomical pathology showed a pink lung  and hyperemia in dexterous lobe was observed due to gunshot wounds, while histopathological features revealed inflammatory cell infiltration of the lumen of the arteries and intra-alveolar septa, hyperemia and emphysema. And the third pig was not infected with internal parasites on pink lung anatomical pathology picture and found hyperemia in the sinister lobe due to gunshot wounds, while the histopathological picture showed inflammatory cell infiltration in lung and bronchial tissue, emphysema, udema, hyperemia, congestion, hemorrhage, connective tissue and fibrin. The results of this study concluded that, from the three wild boar there was one positive of Anaplasma marginale. one positive of ransomic Strongyloides and one uninfected with internal parasite.

Abstract

Babi merupakan hewan transmiter yang dapat menyebabkan zoonosis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran histopatologi limpa babi hutan (Sus scrofa) yang terinfeksi parasit internal di kawasan Lhoknga Aceh Besar. Sampel penelitian menggunakan tiga ekor babi hutan. Pada penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode natif untuk pemeriksaan feses, ulas darah tipis dengan pewarnaan Giemsa untuk pemeriksaan darah dan pemeriksaan patologi anatomis dan histopatologi dengan pewarnaan hematoksilin-eosin (HE). Hasil yang diperoleh dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil pemeriksaan darah menunjukkan babi pertama positif terinfeksi oleh Anaplasma marginale, sedangkan pada pemeriksaan feses menunjukkan babi kedua positif terinfeksi Strongyloides ransomi dan babi ketiga negatif. Hasil pengamatan patologi anatomis limpa babi pertama menunjukkan pembengkakan, babi kedua mengalami perubahan warna berupa ungu kecoklatan, dan babi ketiga terdapat nodul. Hasil pemeriksaan histopatologi limpa pada babi pertama terlihat edema pada pembuluh darah, infiltrasi sel radang, pulpa merah dan pulpa putih tidak berbatas jelas, hiperemi, dan hemoragi. Pada babi kedua terlihat hiperemi dan infiltrasi sel radang dan pada babi ketiga terjadi hemoragi, hiperemi, dan terdapat Melano Makrofag Center (MMC). Dari keterangan di atas terjadinya perubahan histopatologi pada limpa babi hutan yang terinfeksi oleh parasit internal.

Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan mengidentifikasi jenis parasit yang menginfeksi ikan kerapu (Plecetropomus leopardus) di TPI Lhoknga, Kabupaten Aceh Besar. Sebanyak 5 ekor ikan kerapu sunu yang diambil di TPI Lhoknga, diperiksa di Laboratorium Parasitologi Fakultas Kedokteran Hewan Universitas Syiah Kuala Banda Aceh untuk melihat keberadaan ektoparasit dan endoparasit. Pemeriksaaan ektoparasit dilakukan dengan cara pengamatan organ tubuh bagian luar dan kemudian diperiksa di bawah mikroskop, sedangkan pemeriksaan endoparasit dilakukan dengan cara pengamatan pada permukaan dalam dari saluran pencernaan. Dari hasil penelitian ditemukan dua jenis parasit yang menginfestasiikan kerapu sunu yaitu Gyrodactylus sp dan Trichodina sp di insang . Sebanyak 80% kerapu terinfestasi Gyrodactylus sp dan 20% Trichodina sp.ABSTRACTThis research aims to identify parasite type that infect grouper (Plecetropomusleopardus) in TPI Lhoknga, Aceh Besar. Total of 5 fish grouper were taken from TPI Lhoknga, and examined at Parasitology Laboratory of Veterinary Faculty Syiah Kuala University Banda Aceh to see the existence of ectoparasites and endoparasites. Examination of the topsoil was observed by an external body organ then examined under a microscope, while endoparasit examination was observed on the inner surface of the GI tract. The results revealed that the fish  were infected by Gyrodactylus sp and Trichodina sp in the gills. As many as 80% of grouper infected by Gyrodactylus sp and 20% Trichodina sp.
